_PART LIST EN16 IM 1452,08_MATRIX LIGHT2_ESP1_print.indd 16 23/7/21 9:36• Your new MATRIX LIGHT by JANÉ is a safety seat designed to protect your baby in the car from the day they are born to approximately 1 years of age (up to 13 Kg in weight).
- MATRIX LIGHT has passed the demanding safety tests of European Regulation ECE 44/04 for groups 0 and 0+.
- MATRIX LIGHT is compatible with most car seats. However, when the car manufacturer states that the seats are suitable for the installation of “Universal” type seats, this means that there is total compatibility.
- You can also use your MATRIX LIGHT with any chassis with PRO-FIX, if the instructions indicate this.
- It is very important to read these instructions carefully before using the MATRIX LIGHT seat for the first time. Make sure that everyone who is ever going to use the seat is also familiar with its correct installation and use. It has been discovered that a significant number of people who use safety seats do not install the seat correctly, understanding the instruction manuals and applying the instructions correctly is just as important for safety as the actual seat.
- Keep the instructions in the pocket inside the seat, consult them if you have any doubts. You can also find them on our web page: www.janeworld.com 17EN IM 1452,08_MATRIX LIGHT2_ESP1_print.indd 17 23/7/21 9:36_GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Your MATRIX LIGHT safety seat can be installed in both the front seat, if it does not have an airbag, and in the back seat of your car. Either way, we advise you to install it in the back seat. If you posi- tion it in the front seat of the car, this must NOT have an AIRBAG, or the airbag must be disconnected. It is only suitable for cars fitted with three anchoring point auto- matic belts, approved according to Regulation ECE-16 or other equivalent rules. DO NOT use with a two anchoring point belt. Not all safety systems are exactly the same, so we advise that you check your MATRIX LIGHT in the car in which it is going to be fitted. It is very important not to use second-hand products, as JANÉ can only guarantee complete safety with items used by their first buyer. JANÉ recommends that you replace your MATRIX LIGHT safety seat with a new one if it has been subjected to violent stres- ses in an accident. Check that all the straps are in the correct position and duly ad- justed to your MATRIX LIGHT. Make sure that none of the straps are twisted. The child must understand that he must not play with the straps or fasteners under any circumstances. For your baby’s proper development, we advise you not to over- use the safety seat in the seated position on long journeys. Let the baby rest frequently in a Moses basket or bed in the reclining position. In order to protect your baby adequately and to ensure their comfort and stability in the car, the following instructions must be strictly followed: EN18 IM 1452,08_MATRIX LIGHT2_ESP1_print.indd 18 23/7/21 9:36_GETTING TO KNOW THE MATRIX LIGHT SAFETY SEAT Installing in the vehicle: Belt slots underneath the shell to permit installation in cars where the belts are shorter. It also leaves the area around the baby’s feet free. Car seat belt lock that tightens the seat for more stability in the sitting position. New anchorages for the reclining position to help with installation. Chassis ready for installation on a base with ISOfix system (optional). Install the seat in your car with a simple click and no need to thread seat belts through. Comfort and safety for the baby: Integrated 5-point straps, with a greater fastening area, so distributing loads on the baby better in the event of an accident. Aeration in the shell to permit transpiration. Impact-absorbent material over the entire surface in contact with the baby. 4-position reclining backrest: R1 - Group 0 position, so that the baby can travel fully reclining. Highly recommendable option for the first months. R2 / R3 - Intermediate position. (Not suitable for in the car.) R4 - Group 0+ position, so that the baby can travel seated. Comfort for the parents: Pro-Fix fasteners compatible with the JANE chasses. Carrying handle with 3 positions. Height adjustment for the straps simply by pressing a button. Avoids the inconvenience of having to fasten and unfasten straps when you need to change the height of the straps. Removable upholstery. Your MATRIX LIGHT safety seat has been designed ta- king into account the latest advances in terms of sa- fety and it has been tested under the toughest condi- tions. It has the following features: 19EN IM 1452,08_MATRIX LIGHT2_ESP1_print.indd 19 23/7/21 9:36For maximum protection the shoulder straps of the MATRIX LIGHT safety seat should be adjusted to just above the baby’s shoulders. Check this height with the baby in the sitting or lying down position in the safety seat. The straps can be adjusted using a tightener so that the seat adjusts to your baby during the whole stage of growth. The MATRIX LIGHT safety seat has a quick shoulder strap height ad- justment system, you just have to press a button and slide the adjustment mechanism along the backrest. MATRIX LIGHT has 6 different heights for the shoulder straps. There are two possible ways of changing the position: 1a.1 To change the position when lying down, pull the plastic flap and slide the adjustment mechanism. 1a.2 To change the position when sitting down, press the button on the backrest and slide it to the required position. Release the button or flap and move the adjustment mechanism to the nea- rest locking position, it should click into place. Check that it is locked by pulling the adjustment mechanism. The carrying handle has 3 positions ( figure 1b ), each one of them has a specific function: Position 1: Hood folded. Does not have a lock. Position 2: Carrying position. Position for installing the seat and taking it off a JANÉ chassis and for carrying. Position 3: AUTO position. For travelling in the car. To change the position, press the buttons (2) and turn the handle to the required po- sition

CAUTION Check and adjust the height and length of the shoulder straps as the baby grows.
EN20 IM 1452,08_MATRIX LIGHT2_ESP1_print.indd 20 23/7/21 9:36Correctly choosing where to position the safety seat in the car can reduce the risk of injury to the baby in the event of an accident. Reclining position, Group 0. The safety seat must be installed cross-wise in the back seats. MATRIX LIGHT occupies two seats: you can choose between a side and a middle seat, so an adult can travel alongside, or completely in the middle. If you decide on middle and side seats, place the MATRIX LIGHT so that the head is as far as possible from the door. Seated position, Group 0+. Whenever possible, install the safety seat in the back seats. It is highly advisable that someone travels along- side the baby to take care of them. Of the three back seats, the middle one is the safest. If you are travelling alone with your baby, it is a good idea to keep them in sight without being distracted while driving. You can position them in the passenger seat, providing it does NOT have an airbag or the airbag IS DISCONNECTED. Do not be distracted for any reason while driving: to take care of the baby, stop the car completely in a safe place.
