INTRODUCTION
Equipped with cinch inputs and a balanced 3-pin XLR output, the passive line isolation box vils is specially designed for connecting notebooks and sound cards to professional mixers. The stereo signal coming from the playback device is summed to mono internally via a resistor network then impendance matching and signal balancing are achieved by a high quality audio transformer especially designed for the unit. Using the ground lift switch to disconnect the ground connection from the input and output can eliminate noise such as hum loops.

LIFT GND 1 2 1CONNECTIONS AND OPERATING ELEMENTS
1. INPUT LEFT/RIGHT
Unbalanced stereo line input with two RCA (cinch) sockets. Use a shielded stereo audio cable, for example, to connect a notebook to the line isolation box.
2. LIFT/GND
Switch for disconnecting the ground connection from the input and output (ground lift). In the non-pressed position, the ground connection is disconnected; the connection is established when the switch is pressed. The ability to prevent a humming loop using the ground lift switch depends on the grounding of the connected device. It is therefore possible that both one and the other switch position is able to effectively reduce or eliminate humming.
3. OUTPUT
Balanced mono output with male 3-pin XLR socket. Use a balanced audio cable (microphone cable) to connect the line isolation box to a balanced audio input on a mixer or audio interface.

ATTENTION: Connecting signal cables can cause a lot of noise. Make sure that input channels from mixers and audio interfaces etc. are muted during plugging. Otherwise, noise levels may cause damage.
PLEASE NOTE: Strong magnetic fields can cause humming. Therefore, do not position the Line Isolation Box near strong magnetic fields (e.g. mains transformer).
