- Place the instruments on a table at a distance of about 1.5 meters from each other. Avoid being close to possible sources of interference such as electron- ic devices and radio equipment.
- Open the battery compartment of transmitter 1 (with cable) and insert two new AA 1.5 V batteries, polari- ty as illustrated. All LCD segments will be displayed for a short moment. The display shows the tempera- ture. The switch is set to channel 1.
- Close the battery compartment.
- Repeat the process for transmitter 2. The switch is set to channel 2.
- Open the battery compartment of the base station.
- Insert two new AAA 1.5 V batteries, polarity as illus- trated. The device will alert you with a beep and all LCD segments will be displayed for a short moment.
- Close the battery compartment.
6.2 Transmitters reception
- The base station will scan the measuring values of both transmitters. The reception symbols flash on the display.
- If the reception is successful, the temperature val- ues of transmitter 1 and 2 and the reception sym- bols appear steadily on the base station display.
- If the reception of the temperature fails, “- -,-” remains on the display. Check the batteries and try it again.
- You can also activate the reception manually. Hold the MAX/+ button on the base station for 5 seconds. The reception symbols for the transmitters are flashing.
- Press the TX button in the transmitters' battery compartment. The transmission of the data takes place immediately and if the reception is successful, the temperature values appear on the base station display. 6.3 Reception of the DCF frequency signal
- After the reception of the transmitters, the clock will now scan the DCF frequency signal and the DCF reception symbol flashes on the display.
- When the time code is successfully received after 3- 10 minutes, the radio-controlled time, the date, day of the week and the DCF symbol will be shown steadily on the display.
- You can also activate the DCF reception manually. Press and hold the -/MIN button for 5 seconds. The DCF reception symbol flashes.
- The DCF reception always takes place at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 o'clock in the morning. If the signal is not successfully received, further attempts will be taken at 4:00 and 5:00 o'clock.
- If the clock cannot detect the DCF-signal (e.g. due to interference, transmitting distance, etc.), the time can be set manually.
- The clock will then work as a normal quartz clock (see: “Manual settings”). Note on radio-controlled time
The time is transmitted from an atomic clock near Frankfurt am Main by a DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) frequency signal with a range of about 1,500 km. Your radio- controlled clock receives the signal, converts it and always shows the exact time. The adjustment of Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time is also auto- matic.
- During night-time, the atmospheric interference is usually less severe. A single daily reception is ade- quate to keep the accuracy deviation under 1 second. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to a window to improve reception. Wireless thermometer
- Press and hold the SET button for three seconds to enter the setting mode.
- The first adjustable value flashes on the display.
- Use the MAX/+ or -/MIN button to make the desired setting.
- Confirm with the SET button and go to the next set- ting.
- The sequence is shown as follows: – Day-of-week language (default: DE) – DCF reception ON/OFF (default: DCF ON) – Time zone -12/+12 (default: ZONE 00) – Hour, minutes – Year, month, day
- Press and hold the MAX/+ or -/MIN button in the respective setting mode for quick setting. The device will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed for 20 seconds.
7.1.1 Day-of-week language setting
- In the setting mode you can set the day-of-the week language: German (DE), English (GB), French (FR), Italian (IT), Spanish (ES) or Dutch (DU).
- By default, the DCF reception is activated (DCF ON) and after successful reception of the DCF signal no manual time setting is necessary.
- Once the DCF time reception is deactivated (DCF OFF), the clock and date must be manually set. No time zone will appear.
- If the DCF reception is activated, the manually set time will be overwritten by the DCF time when the signal is received successfully.
- The time zone correction is needed for countries where the DCF signal can be received but the time zone is different from the DCF time (e.g. +1=one hour plus).
7.2 Maximum/Minimum function
- Press the -/MIN button in normal mode to show the minimum (MIN) values of transmitter 1 and 2 one after the other, since the last reset with time and date of recording. Press the -/MIN button again to return to normal mode.
- Repeat the process by pressing the MAX/+ button to see the maximum values.
- The device will automatically quit the MAX/MIN mode if no button is pressed for 20 seconds.
- Press and hold the SET button while the highest or lowest values are displayed. The values will be deleted individually and reset to the current state.
- Press and hold the ALARM button for three seconds to enter the alarm setting mode.
- Hi ALARM SENSOR 1 appears on the display and OFF (default) flashes.
- To activate the alarm, press the SET button. ON and the upper limit (40 °C default or the last adjusted upper temperature limit) flash on the display.
- Press MAX/+ or -/MIN button to adjust the desired upper limit for transmitter 1, while the indication flashes.
- Confirm with the ALARM button and go to the next setting.
- The sequence is shown as follows: – Hi ALARM SENSOR 1 – Lo ALARM SENSOR 1 Wireless thermometer
– Hi ALARM SENSOR 2 – Lo ALARM SENSOR 2
- If you do not want to set an alarm, press the ALARM button again to move to the next alarm.
- Note: The lower limit (Lo Alarm) cannot be higher than the current setting of the upper limit (Hi Alarm), even if the upper limit is deactivated (OFF), and vice versa (Lo Alarm < Hi Alarm, Hi Alarm > Lo Alarm).
- Press the ALARM button once more to go back to the current values display.
- When activated, the corresponding alarm symbols appear on the display.
- To deactivate an active alarm (status “ON”) again, select the desired alarm limit value (as described above). Press the SET button. “OFF” appears and the alarm limit disappears on the display.
- In the event of an alarm, the corresponding symbol (upper or lower alarm limit) will be flashing and a permanent alarm will sound. After 20 seconds the alarm keeps on beeping 3 times per minute as long as the temperature is higher/lower than the preset value.
- Stop the alarm sound with any button.
- The alert symbol continues to flash until the meas- ured value is within the alarm limits.
- The device saves the last Hi/Lo alarm event for sen- sor 1 and sensor 2 with time and date of recording By briefly pressing the ALARM button, you can call up the alarm history one after the other.
- If there has not yet been an alarm, NoALARM is dis- played for 5 seconds. TFA_No. 30.3073_Anleit_kurz 23.11.2022 11:36 Uhr Seite 15– 30 – – 31 – Wireless thermometer
- Press and hold the -/MIN button while the alarm event is displayed to clear the recording.
- The trend arrows indicate whether the values for temperature of the last 15 minutes are increasing or decreasing.
- When placed outdoors, choose a shady and dry place for the transmitters. Direct sunlight may trig- ger incorrect measurement and continuous humidi- ty damages the electronic components needlessly.
- The waterproof cable sensor is ideal for the temper- ature control of the refrigerator, freezer, aquarium, terrarium, pool or pond.
- Before the final installation, make sure that the measured values are transmitted from the transmit- ter at the desired installation site to the base station.
- Make sure to avoid the vicinity of any source of interference such as computer screens, TV sets or solid metal objects. Within solid walls, especially ones with metal parts, the transmission range (max. 100 m) can be reduced considerably.
- To wall-mount the transmitter, screw the holder to the wall and click the transmitter into the holder.
11. Battery replacement
- As soon as the corresponding battery symbol appears in the display, please change the batteries of the base station or transmitters.
- Please note: When the batteries are changed, the contact between the transmitters and the base sta- tion must be restored – so always restart all devices or start a manual transmitter search. Wireless thermometer
