WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions.Failure to follow the warningsand instructions may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury. Save all war- nings and instructions for future reference. The term „power tool“ in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (cordepower tool orbattery-opera
ted (cordless) power tool.
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmos
pheres, such as in the presence ofammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite thedust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while ope
rating a power tool.Distractions cancause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do notuse any adapter plugs with earthed (groundepower tools. Unmodied plugs andmatching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refri
gerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body isearthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet con
ditions. Water entering a power toolwill increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging thepower tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damagedor entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable foroutdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual currentdevice (RCprotected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
ments. A moment of inattention while operating power toolsmay result in serious personal injury. b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protectiveequipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protectionused for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the o-position beforeconnecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energising power tools that havethe switch on invites accidents. d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrenchor a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables bettercontrol of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothingand gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelle

Have any damaged parts repaired before using the machine. Many accidentsare caused by poorly maintained power tools. ENGLISH26
- When cutting a tense branch, be sure to know that the branch will bounce back. If tension in the wood bres gets released, the tense branch may hit the operator and/or cause a loss of control over the chainsaw.
- Be especially careful when cutting scrubs and saplings. Thin material may get caught in the chainsaw and hit you or you may lose your balance.
- Carry the chainsaw by the front handle in a switched-o condition and the saw chain must be deected from your body. Fit a protection cover on the chainsaw whenever it is transported or stored. Careful chainsaw treatment reduces the likelihood of an accidental contact with the running saw chain.
- Follow the lubrication, chain tension and accessory equipment replacement instructions. A chain that is not tightened or lubricated in a professional manner may crack or increase the risk of backlash.
- Keep the handles dry, clean and with no oil and fat. Handles dirty with fat or oil are slippery and lead to loss of control.
- Wood to be cut only. Do not use the chainsaw for works for which it has not been designed – example: do not use the chainsaw to cut plastic material, masonry or building materials not made of wood. Using the chainsaw for works that are in conict with the designation may lead to dangerous situations. Backlash causes and prevention: Backlash may take place when the saw bar point touches an item or when the wood bends and the saw chain gets stuck in the cutting. In many cases, a contact with the bar point may lead to a situation when the operator unexpectedly bends backward and the bar is ejected upward toward the operator as a result. Sticking of the saw chain on the upper edge of the bar may throw the bar intensely o toward the operator. Each such reaction may lead to losing control over the saw and you may get seriously injured. Do not fully rely on the safety equipment tted in the chain
saw. As the chainsaw user, you should take various measures to be able to work without any accident and injury. Back impact is a result of an improper or wrong use of power tools. This can be prevented by appropriate preventive measures, as described below:
- Hold the saw rmly with both hands; clamp the chainsaw handle with thumbs and ngers. Position your body and arms so that you could absorb the back impact. If appropriate measures are taken, the operator is able to control the back impact force. Never drop the chainsaw.
- Avoid abnormal body posture and do not cut above the shoulder level. This will prevent a contact with the bar point and the chainsaw will be controlled better in unexpected situations. f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharpcutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with theseinstructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to beperformed. Use of the power tool for operations dierent from those intended couldresult in a hazardous situation.
5) Using and treatment of cordless tools.
a) Charge the batteries only in chargers recom- mended by the manufacturer. Risk of re for a charger suitable only for a certain type of batteries or, as appropriate, accumulators, if used for other accumulators. b) Use only such accumulators in this electric appliance that have been designed for this appliance. Use of other accumulators may lead to injuries and risk of re. c) Do not leave an accumulator not being used near oce clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal items that could cause con
tact bridging. Short circuit between accumulator contacts may result in burns or re. d) Liquid may leak from an accumulator if used improperly. Prevent contact with such liquid. Rinse an aected body part with water in case of accidental contact. If liquid gets to your eye, seek medical advice.Liquid leaking from a battery may cause skin irritation or burns.
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identicalreplacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Safety instructions for Battery Operated Chain Saw
- A moment of inattention when working with the chainsaw is able to cause the saw chain to catch your clothes or parts of your body.
- Use your right hand to hold the chainsaw by its rear handle and your left hand to hold it by its front handle. Holding the chainsaw the opposite way increases the risk of injury and you must not do that.
- Wear protective glasses and ear protectors. Further, wearing head, hand and leg protection equipment is recommended. Suitable protective clothing minimises the risk of injury by thrown- away wood chips and possible contact with the saw chain.
- Do not work on trees with the chainsaw. There is a risk of injury when working on a tree.
- Provide safe posture at all times and use the chainsaw only when standing on a solid, safe and level surface. A slippery or unstable surface, such as ladder, may lead to loss of balance or loss of control over the chainsaw. ENGLISH GB27
