Frequently Asked Questions - PAM LD Systems

How to install the LD Systems PAM microphone?
Place the base on a flat surface, connect the captive cable to a mixer with phantom power (15-48 V). Ensure the mixer input is muted during connection to avoid unwanted noise. Select the operating mode via the selector under the base.
What operating modes are available?
Three modes are available via the selector under the base: Push To Talk (microphone active only while pressing), Push To Mute (microphone always active, muted while pressing), and Latch On/Off (toggle on/off with short press).
What power supply is required for the microphone?
Phantom power of 15 to 48 V DC (±10%) is required. Consumption is 6 mA and only 3 mW in standby (muted).
How to connect the microphone cable?
The captive cable has 5 stripped conductors: red (+), yellow (-), shield+white (ground), black (-) and green (+) for contact closure. Connect them to a balanced mixer input and to the priority circuit if necessary.
What to do if the microphone does not light up?
Check that phantom power is enabled and the voltage is between 15 and 48 V. Ensure the cable is properly connected. If the indicator does not light up, contact customer service.
What are the main technical specifications?
Cardioid dynamic microphone, frequency response 90 Hz-20 kHz, input impedance 47 kΩ, gain +5.5 dB, attenuation >75 dB in muted position. Weight 0.86 kg, cable 2 m.
