Can I use the KE100 thermostat without a hub?

Yes, after inserting the batteries, you can adjust the temperature manually by turning the valve. However, the Kasa hub is required for connected functions (scheduling, remote control).

What type of batteries should I use?

Use two 1.5 V alkaline AA LR6 batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries or 1.2 V AA batteries.

How do I install the KE100 valve?

First unscrew the existing valve. If the connection is M30x1.5, screw it directly. Otherwise, use one of the provided adapters. Then remove the valve cover by turning counterclockwise with the supplied cover opener.

What does the 'cl' display on the screen mean?

The 'cl' display indicates that the child lock is activated. To disable it, consult the manual. The display alternates between 'cl' and normal temperature.

How do I reset the KE100 thermostat?

Use the supplied cover opener to press and hold the SYNC/RESET button for 5 seconds. The device will restore factory settings and enter pairing mode.

What should I do if the screen displays '81' or '82'?

'81' means that no valve is detected or it is incompatible. '82' means that the valve is blocked. Check the installation and valve compatibility.

Is the thermostat compatible with all radiator valves?

No, it is only compatible with thermostatic valves, not manual valves. The standard connection is M30x1.5; adapters are provided for other sizes.

How do I activate frost protection?

When the screen displays 'Fr' alternating with the temperature, the frost protection is activated. This maintains a minimum temperature to prevent freezing.

Can I program heating schedules?

1. Kasa Smart Thermostatic Radiator Valve is only compatible with the thermostatic valve, not manual valve.

1. No need to shut off water before changing the radiator valve. Water will not leak.

2. Avoid installing the valve in the same room where you have installed the boiler thermostat.

Install the Valve

1. Unscrew the existing valve.

1. Refer to Figure 1 to install the new valve. The ▲ at the bottom of the valve indicates the position of the display.

- For M30 x 1.5 connector: Screw the new valve directly.

- For non-M30 x 1.5 connector: Check whether one of the provided adapters fits the connector. If none of them fit your connector, please purchase a proper one yourself.

1. Remove the cover of the valve by rotating counterclockwise using the provided cover-opener.

1. Open the battery cover and insert two AA LR6 alkaline batteries. Make sure the positive and negative terminals face the correct direction.

Set Up the Valve

1. Kasa smart hub required. Download the Kasa Smart app in the App Store or Google Play.

1. Use the provided cover-opener to press and hold the SYNC/RESET button for 5 seconds to reset the valve.

1. Open the Kasa Smart app, tap + and select Smart Thermostats. Follow the app instructions complete setup.

Don't Have a Hub?

You can adjust temperature manually. After inserting the batteries, the valve is ready to use. Rotate the valve to adjust the temperature.
