Frequently Asked Questions - DistanceMaster LiveCam Laserliner

How to change or recharge the batteries of the DistanceMaster LiveCam?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert 3 NiMH AAA 1.2 V batteries respecting polarity. To recharge, use the supplied USB-C cable: plug it into the device and a USB charger. The batteries recharge directly in the device.
What is the maximum measurement range?
The maximum range is 150 m indoors, under brightness conditions below 15,000 lux. Typical accuracy is ± 1.5 mm up to 10 m.
How to use the camera function?
Press the camera function button (d) to activate the HD camera which displays on the screen. The camera has 4x auto zoom to help you precisely aim at the target. You can take screenshots by pressing the same button.
How to connect the device to a smartphone?
Activate digital connection via the menu (SET button). On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and open the free app MeasureNote (downloadable from stores). The device will appear in the list; select it to pair the two devices.
What to do if error code 220 is displayed?
Error code 220 means 'Replace batteries'. Replace or recharge the NiMH AAA batteries because their level is too low to ensure reliable measurements.
How to clean the device?
Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the housing and screen. Never use solvents, scouring agents, or harsh cleaners. Remove the batteries before extended storage and keep the device in a dry and clean place.
Is the device water resistant?
No, the DistanceMaster LiveCam is not designed to be water resistant. It must be used in dry conditions and protected from excessive humidity. Operating conditions allow relative humidity of 20 to 85% non-condensing.
How to perform an area measurement?
Press the Menu button (a) to select the Area function (icon S). First measure the length, then the width by pressing the DIST button. The screen will automatically display the calculated area as well as the perimeter.
What to do if the laser does not turn on?
First check the battery level (battery symbol on screen). If batteries are low, recharge or replace them. Make sure the device is turned on (ON/OFF button). If the problem persists, contact UMAREX-LASERLINER customer service.
How to set the measurement reference point?
Access the settings menu (SET button). Select the 'Reference point' option. You can choose between the front, rear, or thread references of the device. Use the +/- buttons to change and confirm to save.

The Ground Truth image displays a single, solid horizontal line. According to Rule 2 (UNDERSCORE & LINE RULES), if the GT contains lines used for stylistic emphasis or as background (like ruled paper), the OCR result must ignore them. The line in the GT is clearly a stylistic or background line, not a placeholder for text. Therefore, the OCR should not have output any underscores. Outputting `____` constitutes an error under Rule 2, as it hallucinates placeholder symbols where none are semantically intended. Hence, the OCR result is inconsistent with the Ground Truth.

The Ground Truth image displays a single, solid horizontal line. According to Rule 2 (UNDERSCORE & LINE RULES), if the GT contains lines used for stylistic emphasis or as background (like ruled paper), the OCR result must ignore them. The OCR content provided is "____", which consists of four underscores. This is incorrect because underscores are not equivalent to a solid line and are not permitted under the “Stylistic/Background Lines (Ignore)” rule. Outputting underscores for a stylistic line violates the rule and constitutes an error. Therefore, the OCR result is inconsistent with the Ground Truth.

Data transfer

This device has digital connectivity which allows wireless data transfer to mobile devices such as smart phones or tablets with a wireless interface.

The system prerequisites for a digital connection are specified at

https://packd.li/ble/v2

This device can generate a wireless connection to devices which are compatible with the wireless standard IEEE 802.15.4. The wireless standard IEEE 802.15.4 is a transfer protocol for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN). The range is set to a maximum distance of 10 m from the terminal device and greatly depends on the ambient conditions such as the thickness and composition of walls, sources of interference as well as the transmit / receive properties of the terminal device.

Enable / disable Digital Connection:
SET — Enable / disable Save setting (optional) Exit menu

The digital connection is activated as soon as the device is switched on as the wireless system is designed to use very little electricity. A mobile device can link up to the active measuring device via an app.

Application (app)

An app is required to use the digital connection You can download the app from the corresponding stores for the specific type of terminal device:

Download on the App Store

GET IT ON Google Play

Laserliner DistanceMaster LiveCam - Application (app) - 3

Laserliner DistanceMaster LiveCam - Application (app) - 4

Make sure that the wireless interface of the mobile device is activated.

After starting the app and activating the digital connection, a connection can be set up between a mobile device and the measuring device. If the app detects several active measuring devices, select the matching device. This measuring device can be connected automatically the next time it is switched on.

Information on maintenance and care

Clean all components with a damp cloth and do not use cleaning agents, scouring agents and solvents. Remove the battery(ies) before storing for longer periods. Store the device in a clean and dry place.

Calibration

The measuring device must be calibrated and tested on a regular basis to ensure it is accurate and working properly. We recommend carrying out calibration once a year. Contact your distributor or the UMAREX-LASERLINER service department.

Four quadrilateral diagrams labeled ①, ②, ③ showing right triangles with marked angles and dashed lines indicating sides.
