Frequently Asked Questions - HW 1660 CASO

How to install the water filter?
Remove the filter packaging, soak it in fresh water for 10 minutes, rinse it under tap water for 10 seconds, then insert it into the filter holder with a slight twist. Place the filter holder into the water tank. Before drinking, run 1 liter of water through 2 to 3 times.
How to adjust the temperature and water volume?
After unlocking (press Lock for 3-5 s), use the Temp. button to choose from 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, 100°C or 000 (normal temperature). Use Volume to select 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 ml or 000 (continuous flow). Press Start/Stop to start.
What to do if the screen shows 'Lo' or 'Lack of water'?
The Lo code or Lack of water symbol indicates a lack of water in the tank. Fill the tank with water up to the maximum mark immediately. The appliance will resume operation.
How to descale the appliance?
When the Descaling symbol appears, remove the filter and drip tray, fill the tank with water to the maximum and add vinegar. Press Clean, set the temperature to 80°C (recommended) with Temp., then start with Start/Stop. The appliance dispenses all the water. Then rinse the tank with clear water.
Can I use the appliance without a filter?
Yes, but this may reduce water quality and increase limescale buildup. The filter improves taste and protects the appliance. Without a filter, descaling will be more frequent.
How to use the baby function?
To obtain water at 37°C for baby bottles, press and hold the Baby button. Water flows as long as you keep it pressed. Always check the temperature before feeding baby by dropping a few drops on the inside of your wrist.
How to drain the drip tray?
If the drip tray is full, hold the appliance with one hand, with the other lift the tray slightly to unclip it. Empty the water, then reposition the tray by firmly attaching it to the appliance.
The appliance no longer heats, what should I do?
First check the household fuse. If the appliance overheated, the overheat protection has triggered. Unplug the appliance, let it cool down, then press the reset button located under the appliance using the provided key.
What is the lifespan of the water filter?
Under normal use, the filter should be replaced every 4 to 6 weeks or after approximately 160 liters of filtered water available. Replacement filters are available: pack of 6 (ref. 1841) or pack of 3 (ref. 1861).
Can I use tap water directly?
Yes, you can use tap water. However, for baby food preparation, it is recommended to boil the water in a pot for at least 3 minutes, let it cool, then pour it into the tank. The appliance does not boil water before dispensing.
