How to connect a microphone to the DX800?

The DX800 is a power amplifier, it does not have a direct microphone input. You must connect your microphone to a mixing console, then connect the console's output to the amplifier's 6.3 mm jack or RCA inputs.

What is the difference between stereo mode and bridge mode?

In stereo mode, each channel operates independently with its own input and volume. In bridge mode, the two channels are combined to provide double power on a single channel (800 W under 8 ohms for the DX800). Use the left input and adjust the volume with channel 1 knob.

How to choose the right speaker cable?

The cable gauge depends on distance: for less than 10 m, use 1.5 mm²; between 10 and 20 m, use 2.5 mm²; between 20 and 30 m, use 4.0 mm². Ensure polarity is respected.

Can I use the DX800 with 4 ohm speakers?

Yes, in stereo mode, each channel can handle a 4 ohm impedance (2 x 400 W). In bridge mode, the minimum impedance is 8 ohms (800 W). Do not go below.

What to do if the amplifier does not turn on?

First check the fuse located on the rear of the device. If necessary, replace it with an identical fuse. Also ensure the mains socket is functional and the power cable is properly connected.

What is the Ground Lift switch for?

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Under no circumstances should you attempt to service or repair the device yourself. In this case, the warranty becomes void.
• The mains plug is used to disconnect the unit from the mains after it has been switched off. Make sure that the mains plug is always freely accessible.
• Do not expose the appliance to splashing water and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the appliance.
• Do not expose the batteries to extreme heat such as sunlight or fire.
• Never obstruct the ventilation of the appliance by blocking the ventilation openings with objects such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains etc.

DEVICE OVERVIEW

1 6.3 mm jack inputs: Two 6.3 mm jack sockets for connecting a signal source (mixer, etc.). RCA

3 Mode switch: The amplifier can operate in 2 modes: Stereo and Pressed. Select one of these modes: Stereo mode: Standard left/right stereo mode. Bridge mode: This mode of operation combines both channels on one channel, resulting in doubling the power of that channel. Connect the signal to the left input channel and the output level can now be adjusted with the left volume control.
4 Ground Lift Switch: Disconnects the circuits from the ground in case of problems with ground loops.
5 6.3 mm output: In stereo mode, the load impedance is 4 ohms per channel.
6 NL4output: In stereo mode, the load impedance of each channel is 4 ohms. Pin +1 & +2 = + output, Pin -1 & -2 = - output
7 Screw connections Loudspeaker outputs: 4 Ohm per channel. In bridge mode 8 Ohm.
8 Mains input: First plug the IEC plug into the socket on the appliance and then plug the other end into a power socket
9 Fuse holder: The fuse protects the amplifier and the connecting wires against defects. Replace only with a completely identical fuse.

OUTPUT CONNECTION

The amplifier must be switched off while making the connections. The speakers can be connected via the NL4 sockets or via wires to the screw terminals. In the table below, select the appropriate wire gauge that corresponds to the distance between the amplifier and the speaker.

LINE-UP

The amplifier can be set to 2 operating modes:

1. Stereo connection

Set the mode switch (3) to stereo. In this mode, the amplifier has two independent channels, each with its own input and volume controls.

2. Bridge operation

Set the mode switch (3) to 'Bridged'. As already described, the output power is doubled. Connect the audio cable to input 1 and the output signal can now be adjusted with the volume control of channel 1. Connect the speakers to the positive (+) outputs of both outputs and not to the (-) output or ground. The negative outputs must NOT be used in bridge mode.

POWER SUPPLY

Before connecting the amplifier to the power supply, make sure that the voltage of the power supply corresponds to the supply voltage of the amplifier. First connect the IEC end to the appliance and then the power cord.

• Make sure that all cables are connected correctly!
- Check whether the speakers are suitable for this amplifier!
- Never cover the ventilation grids!
- Protect from rain and moisture!
- Do not plug in or unplug speaker cables during operation!
