How to turn the Testo 105 on and off?

To turn on, briefly press the On/Off button. To turn off, press and hold the same button.

What is the recommended immersion depth for measurements?

For the short or long probe, immerse at least 35 mm. For the frozen food probe, immerse at least 50 mm.

How to set the temperature alarm thresholds?

Turn on the device, press the Alarm button to set the max or min value. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to adjust the value, then confirm.

How to change the batteries of the Testo 105?

Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, insert 4 new LR44 batteries observing polarity, then close.

What to do if the device displays '---'?

This means the measured temperature is outside the measuring range (-50 to +275 °C). Check the measurement conditions.

How to activate the Auto Hold function?

In configuration mode (press and hold On/Off while the device is off), navigate to Auto Hold and select ON. Then set the stability time (5-20 s).

Is the Testo 105 suitable for measuring frozen foods?

Yes, with the specific frozen food probe (ref. 0613 1052), it measures semi-solid substances. The response time is approximately 15 s for frozen food, up to 60 s for frozen meat.

How to clean the probe and housing?

Use a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning solutions or solvents.

How to change the probe of the Testo 105?

Turn off the device. Turn the threaded ring counterclockwise to remove the probe, then screw on the new probe clockwise.

4. Intended Use

testo 105 is a robust food thermometer to measure the temperature of semi-solid substances. Depending on the probe used, the thermometer can be used in the following sectors: gastronomy, refrigeration, industrial kitchens, supermarkets, Incoming goods inspections, HACCP.

The following components of the product are designed for continuous contact with foodstuffs in accordance with the regulation (EC) 1935/2004:

The measurement probe up to 1 cm before the probe handle or the plastic housing. If provided, the information about penetration depths in the instruction manual or the mark(s) on the measurement probes should be noted.

6. Initial Operation

1 Pull out battery compartment.
2 Insert battery (4 x Type LR44). Watch out for +/-.
3 Reinsert battery compartment.

7. Operation

If the signal sound is switched on, there will be a sound every time is pressed and alarm limits are exceeded.

If the light is switched on, the display light will light up for 5s every time a button is pressed or alarm limits are exceeded.

If Auto Off is switched on, the instrument switches off automatically after 10 minutes if no button has been activated.

If Auto Hold is switched on, AUTO HOLD flashes. Once the reading is stable within a fixed time duration, it will be frozen.

AUTO HOLD lights up.

9. Service and Maintenance

9.1 Changing the probe

The instrument must be switched off.

1 Turn threaded ring in an anti-clockwise direction and remove the probe.
2 Attach new probe (observe guides) and screw on threaded ring in a clockwise direction.

9.2 Changing the battery

1 Take out the battery compartment.
2 Remove empty batteries and put in new batteries (4 x Type LR44).

3 Reinsert battery compartment.

9.3 Cleaning the instrument

Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or solutions.
