6.3 Preparing the DIGITRADIO 50 SE for operation
6.3.1 Positioning the dipole antenna
The number and quality of broadcast stations depends on the reception conditions at the location of the radio. Excellent reception can be achieved with the dipole antenna. > Release the dipole antenna (1) and align it lengthways. If necessary, use the small loop at the end of the dipole antenna to fix it in the required position. Precise alignment of the dipole antenna is oen important, especially on the outskirts of a DAB+ reception area. You can quickly find the location of the nearest transmission tower online by visiting “www.dabplus.de”. Start the first scan at a window pointing in the direction of the transmission mast. If the weather conditions are poor, DAB+ reception may be limited. Do not touch the dipole antenna during station playback. This could reduce the reception and lead to sound drop-outs.72
6.3.2 Connecting the mains adapter
Ensure that the operating voltage of the power supply unit matches the mains voltage before you insert it into the wall socket. WARNING! Do not touch the mains plug with wet hands; electric shock hazard! CAUTION! Route the mains cable in such a way that nobody can trip over it. > Connect the power supply to the port marked DC IN (6) on the back of the DIGITRADIO 50 SE.
