How to use the Buffalo CP851 Soup Kettle?

Fill the outer shell with approximately 600 ml of water between the MIN and MAX marks. Place the removable container, add hot soup, close the lid, and set the thermostat from 1 (minimum) to 12 (maximum). The power light turns on. To keep warm, use the lowest possible setting.

How much water to put in the outer shell?

Pour approximately 600 ml of water, respecting the MIN and MAX marks inside the outer shell. Do not exceed the MAX mark.

Can I wash the container and lid in the dishwasher?

Yes, the removable container and the lid can be washed in the dishwasher. The exterior of the appliance must be cleaned with a damp cloth and soapy water.

What to do if the appliance does not heat?

Check that the thermostat is set to a value above 0 and that the appliance is plugged in. If the problem persists, the cord or plug may be damaged. Contact a qualified technician or a Buffalo agent.

Is it possible to heat cold food with this appliance?

No, the appliance is not designed to heat cold food. It is intended to keep warm already hot soups.

How to set the temperature?

Turn the thermostat to the desired value, from 1 (lowest temperature) to 12 (highest temperature). For optimal holding, use the lowest possible setting.

Is the appliance safe to use?

Yes, but follow the instructions: never immerse the appliance, do not move while powered, do not use without water in the shell, and allow to cool before cleaning. The appliance is grounded and must be used on a stable surface.

How to clean the exterior of the appliance?

Unplug the appliance and clean the exterior with a damp cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use a pressure washer and do not immerse the appliance in water.

What to do in case of malfunction?

First consult the troubleshooting table in the manual. If the problem persists (e.g., the appliance does not turn on, the soup does not heat), contact a qualified technician or a Buffalo agent. Do not attempt to repair yourself.

How to install the lid?

Slide the lid onto the top of the kettle. The center of the lid is hinged: lift one half to access the container. The lid should remain closed when the appliance is not in use.

Installation

Fit the Lid

- Slot the lid on top of the appliance.

Note: The lid is hinged in the middle. Lift one half of the lid to access the container.

Attaching Labels

1. Slide the relevant label into the magnetic label holder.

2. Attach the holder to the side of the appliance.

Note: If the desired label is not included, simply write the name of the product on the reverse of one of the labels.

Operation

1. Connect the appliance to the mains power supply.

2. Fill the outer container with approximately 600ml of water (MIN / MAX WATERLINE). Do not exceed the MAX marking.

3. Carefully place the inner container into the appliance.

Note: The inner container must NOT float, even when empty. If the container floats reduce the amount of water in the outer container.

1. Fill the inner container with hot soup and close the lid.

Note: If necessary, remove any excess water from the outer container.

1. Set the temperature control. The temperature ranges from 1 (lowest) to 12 (highest).
2. The Power light will come on and remain on and the kettle will begin to heat up.

Note: Kettle is not designed to heat food from cold.

1. Reduce the temperature to maintain heat levels. To maintain temperature, BUFFALO recommend the lowest heat setting possible.
2. Use a suitable implement to remove the contents of the kettle. DO NOT tip the kettle to remove the contents.
3. To turn the appliance Off, set the Temperature Control to '0'.

WARNING: Never move or carry the appliance when it is switched on or contains hot liquid.

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

• Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean any spilt food on the appliance immediately.
- Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
- The inner container and lid are machine washable.
• Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

Electrical Wiring

This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin, moulded, BS1363 plug and lead, with a 13 amp fuse as standard. The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.

This appliance is wired as follows:

• Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
• Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E

This appliance must be earthed.

If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
