These functions are only to be carried out when the Mammut system is activated for the first time after installation, or when a new remote control is being put into operation.

Safety

AL-KO Mammut - Safety - 1

Danger due to incorrect programming!

Errors during initial start-up can lead to misinterpretations between the remote control and the controller. This can result in hazardous operating situations.

- Carry out initial start-up on open ground, so that you can subsequently carry out a test run and function test with sufficient distance between you and the trailer.

To avoid the possibility of transmission errors, you should not perform initial start-up in the direct vicinity of another trailer with Mammut drives.

Calibrating the remote control with the system

In this step, the controller is told whether the drives are located in front of or behind the trailer axle (in the direction of travel). At the same time, the code of the remote control and the joystick position are transmitted to the drive controller.

The remote control must be switched off and the system must be inactive.
The numbers in brackets refer in this section to 2.

  1. Unplug the 3-contact connector of the data cable from the supply battery.
  2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment of the remote control. Ensure that the polarity is correct.
  3. Simultaneously press buttons 5 and 6 on the remote control.
  4. Keeping the buttons pressed, switch on the remote control at the ON/OFF switch (2).

First an LED self-test is carried out, then Expert mode is activated. The operating state LED flashes red.

You can now release both buttons.

  1. Hold the remote control against the enabling switch on the overrun device.

Communication is established with the drive units.

Fundamentals

AL-KO Mammut - Fundamentals - 1

The speed and direction of motion are controlled steplessly using the joystick.

Please note the functional difference between the following areas:

■ Forwards / Reverse (C: 1, 2)

■ Rotation 4:3,4)

In the areas for forwards (1) or reverse motion (2), the trailer can be moved with stepless control in the selected direction. The further the joystick is pressed in the desired direction, the faster the trailer moves.

If the joystick is pressed straight forwards or backwards in the direction of the middle arrow, the trailer moves in a straight line in this direction. If the joystick is moved towards the left-hand or right-hand arrow in the same direction, the trailer moves along a corresponding curve.

If the joystick is moved to the side into one of the turning areas, the trailer rotates to the right (3) or left (4) about its own axis.

Activating the drives

AL-KO Mammut - Activating the drives - 1

Caution! Risk of crushing!
