Frequently Asked Questions - Smart Light Module GYS

How to connect the Smart Light Module to my GYS charger?

Connect the SMC connecting cable (ref. 025691) between the module's SMC connector and the host product's connector. Make sure to tighten the locking screws with the supplied Grower washers to ensure the connection.

What does the yellow indicator color mean?

The yellow color indicates that the charger is charging a lead battery (normal charge).

What does the cyan indicator color mean?

The cyan color indicates that the charger is charging a lithium battery.

What does the flashing red color mean?

Flashing red indicates a charging fault or error on the charger. The audible alarm also sounds.

How to disable the audible alarm?

The module's audible alarm is linked to that of the Gysflash CNT. Disabling the charger's alarm also disables the module's.

The indicator stays off, what to do?

Check the connection and condition of the SMC connecting cable. If the problem persists, it may be an electronic issue; contact the dealer.

Can I use the Smart Light Module outdoors?

No, the device is intended for indoor use only. It must not be exposed to rain.

Which GYS products are compatible with this module?

The module is designed for GYS 'Connected' products, such as Gysflash Pro CNT chargers and compatible welding machines. Refer to your host product's manual.

How to clean the Smart Light Module?

Use a dry cloth to clean the surfaces. Never use solvents or harsh cleaning products. Maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel.

What is the length of the supplied cable?

The supplied connecting cable is the standard model (not specified in the manual). A 3-meter version is available as an option under reference 025691.

This manual includes guidelines on the operation of your device and the precautions to follow for your own safety. Ensure it is read carefully before first use and keep it handy for future reference. Device suitable for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain or excessive moisture.

Do not place the device near a fire or subject it to heat or to longterm temperatures exceeding 50°C

Do not obstruct the cooling vents. Refer to the installation section before operating the machine.

Maintenance:

• Service should be performed by a qualified person
- Under no circumstances should solvents or other aggressive cleaning agents be used.
- Clean the device's surfaces with a soft, dry cloth.

The Smart Light Module is an accessory for GYS «Connected» products (chargers, welding machines, etc.) to display their operating status by means of a multicolored indicator and an audible warning.

INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION TO THE HOST PRODUCT

Connect the SLM to the host product using the SMC connection cable (ref. 025691).

The power supply and control of the SLM is from the host product.

Buzzer

In addition to the indicator light which flashing red in the event of a fault, the SLM is fitted with an audible warning device.

The SLM buzzer is linked directly to the Gysflash CNT audible buzzer. Deactivating the charger buzzer deactivates that of the SLM and vice versa.

INSTALLING THE SMC CONNECTOR LOCKING SCREWS

To ensure a good connection of the SMC cable between the SLM and the host product, it is recommended to fit the supplied screws and spring washers on the SMC connectors in accordance with the assembly below:

VELCRO FASTENING

The black Velcro straps can be glued under the mounting plates of the SLM in order to fix it easily.

WARRANTY

The warranty covers faulty workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase (parts and labour).

The warranty does not cover:

• Transit damage.
• Normal wear of parts (eg. : cables, clamps, etc..).
• Damages due to misuse (power supply error, dropping of equipment, disassembling).
• Environment related failures (pollution, rust, dust).

In case of failure, return the unit to your distributor together with:

- The proof of purchase (receipt etc ...)

- A description of the fault reported
