2. Starting
PROCEDURE
- Open the fuel tap.
- On a cold engine open the choker. Note: By a hot engine choke is not required.
-
Turn the engine's gas control lever on full gas (If the engine is mounted on a machine with cable-regulated gas, full gas is given).
-
Turn the throttle cable to "start position".
-
Pull the recoil starter gently until you feel resistance in the rope. Then pull quickly and energetic. Do not at any time let go of the recoil starter but slide it gently back and pull again.
-
For 230V electric starter. Plug the cord into the power socket and to the electrical socket on the engine and press the red start button in order to start the engine. After the engine is started remove the plug from the socket and the outlet of the engine.
-
Regulate the choker until the engine is running smoothly.
See fig. 1, 2, 3, 4.
3. Operation
OPERATION
- When the engine has been started move the choke gradually to the right.
- Adjust the gas to the requested speed.
See fig. 2.
NOTE
Please observe the following during operation.
- Exhaustion must not be black. If the exhaustion is black the load is too high or the engine has not been adjusted correctly.
Unpleasant sound and vibration.
• If these appear turn off the engine and adjust it. Contact your dealer
4. Stopping the engine
PROCEDURE
- Turn the gas control to position "Low" and engine will stop running.
- Turn the fuel tap to the "off" position
See fig. 3.

CHANGING OIL
Change the oil according to the specifications of the machine.
1. Let the engine run 5 minutes, so the engine is hot.Warm oil liquefies, which makes it easier to drain the oil.2. Unscrew the drain plug (Fig 6.1) and let the warm oil run out of the engine.Remember to keep an appropriate container ready.3. Attach the drain plug and fasten.
Refilling oil (Fig 5)1. Remove the oil filler cap2. Refill the oil to the edge of the filling hole (see capacity above)Important: Before changing oil, ensure that the engine is level position.Important: By the right amount oil the oil MUST be visible and to edge of fill holePlease dispose the used engine oil environmentally correct. We suggest that you keep the used oil in a sealed container and dispose at your recycling center or service station for reclamation. Do not throw it in the waste; pour it on the ground; or down a drain.
AIR FILTER
The air filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly. If the filter has not been cleaned for a long period of time, this will influence the engine's combustion and engine power.
- Remove the nut, washer and gasket (Figure 8.A,B,C) and remove cover (Fig 8.D).
- Remove the nut (Fig 8.E) and remove the gasket (Figure 8.F)
- Clean the air filter (Fig 8.G) before being removed.
- Now carefully remove the air filter (Fig 8.G) out of the foam element (Fig 8.H)
- Inspect and remove the dust from the air filter by tapping the element easily a few times. Alternatively run compressed air through the inside of the filter. Warning! Never try to brush away the dust. A brush will only push the dust further into the element. Replace the air filter if it is very dirty.
- Inspect and clean the foam element (Fig 8.H) with petrol or kerosene
- Wrench the foam element (Fig 8.H) and let it dry. Hereafter soak the element in fresh oil, squeeze any redundant oil out of the element.
- Clean the lid (Fig 8.1)
- Reattach the foam element (Fig 8.H) and the air filter (Fig 8.G) and fasten.
- Please note that all parts are assembled correctly. (See Fig. 8)
IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances should oil be applied on the air filter (Fig.8G).

ASSEMBLY
- Attach the filter (Fig. 8 G and H) on the lid (Figure 8.I). Insert the gasket (Fig. 8.F) in the assembled filter.
- Secure with nut (Fig 8.E.). Note: It is important that it fasten tightly.
- Insert the cover (Fig 8.D) Mount gasket and washer (Fig 8.B and C) then fasten with a nut (Fig. 8.A).
Ensure that all parts are correctly fitted, this is to prevent that no air will get into the engine.
8. Sparking plug
PROCEDURE
- Remove the sparking plug cover.
- Brush off dirt from the sparking plug.
- Use a sparking-plug wrench to loosen the sparking plug.
- Inspect if the isolation is intact.
- Clean the sparking plug with a steel brush.
- Measure the electrode distance; make sure not to damage the electrode.
• The distance should be: 0,7 – 0,8 mm
• If the sparking plug is okay, put it back in its place. - Put the sparking plug cover back in its place.

9. Transport and storage
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Transport
- To avoid any spillage of fuel and oil is it important that the engine is placed horizontal during transport.
Storage
- Let the engine run till it stops.
- Loosen the drain screw on the carburettor and drain the remaining fuel.
- Reinstall the drain screw, and mount the fuel tube.
- Keep the old fuel in an approved container.
- Remove the sparkplug and poor 1 tablespoon of oil into the cylinder, mount the sparkplug.
- Do not mount the sparkplug cap. Pull the sparking cord, until there is resistance. This will close the valves and protect them from rust.
- Protect the oil with a thin layer of oil to avoid rust.
10. Maintenance
NOTE
- The purpose of maintenance is to keep the engine in its best possible shape.
• Repairs must always be carried through by an authorized dealer.
