Frequently Asked Questions - STWM712C Vonyx

What to do in case of no sound?
Check that the transmitter's Power switch is in the ON position. Make sure the batteries are properly installed and not discharged. Check that the receiver is on (red LED indicator). Turn the receiver's volume control. Check the audio connections between the receiver and the amplifier.
How to replace the transmitter battery?
Open the battery compartment cover of the transmitter. Remove the old batteries, respecting polarity. Insert two new AA 1.5 V batteries. Close the cover. If not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to avoid leakage.
Why does the low battery indicator light up?
The red Low Battery indicator shows that the transmitter batteries are low. Replace them immediately with new batteries to avoid sound loss or distortion.
How to avoid interference?
Identify possible sources of interference (other RF transmitters, electronic devices). Turn them off or use a system operating on a different frequency. Keep the receiver away from metal surfaces and place the antennas at 45° from vertical.
Which countries are allowed for use?
The device does not require a license in the following countries: Austria (AT), France (FR), Germany (DE), Greece (GR), Hungary (HU), Netherlands (NL), Poland (PL), Romania (RO), Slovenia (SI), Switzerland (CH). For other countries, check with the regulatory authority.
How to adjust the volume correctly?
First set the receiver volume to the 12 o'clock position (mid-level). Then adjust the volume of your amplifier or mixing console to the desired level. Avoid turning the receiver volume too high to avoid saturating the amplifier input.
How to clean the device?
Disconnect the device from the mains. Use a dry cloth to wipe the surfaces. Do not use chemicals, aerosols, or liquids that could damage the finish or penetrate inside.
How to install the antennas?
Connect the antennas to the input terminals (channels A and B) on the back of the receiver. Tilt each antenna at 45° from vertical. Make sure the antennas do not touch each other and are not near metal surfaces.
What to do in case of sound distortion?
Distortion may be due to an input level that is too high. Reduce the volume setting of the transmitter or receiver. If the Low Battery indicator lights up, replace the batteries. Also check that the transmitter is not too close to the receiver.
How to connect the receiver to an amplifier?
Use an audio cable to connect the AF output or AF mix output of the receiver to an input of your amplifier (e.g., line input). Make sure the receiver is on and the output volume is set. Then plug in the amplifier.

OPERATION

Turn off the system first, turn down the receivers volume to the minimum and then turn on the receiver, CPU initializes, the LCD screen begins to display and the system reverts to the last shutdown's state!

If the system is turned on look at the transmitter and receiver's frequency. Then the receiver display shows RF signal level value, the antenna status will display antenna A or B. Adjust the volume to the desired level.

Volume adjustment

Adjust the receiver's volume to the 12 o'clock position, then adjust the volume of the amplifier or mixer to a desired level. If the receiver volume has been adjusted too loud the amplifier will produce a saturated distortion which will blow the amplifier or/and the loudspeaker(s)!

Best acoustics:

  1. You should always see the receiver antenna from your transmitter location.
  2. The distance between transmitter and receiver should be as short as possible.
  3. If the receiver has two antennas, they should be adjusted 45^ with a vertical line.
  4. Keep the antennas away from metal surfaces and shelter.
  5. Let the antennas not contact or cross each other.
  6. Before using the system during the presence of public do a test to find out where the "dead spots" are. Avoid these spots when operational
