How to use the PCSM 1153 blender?

Place the base on a flat surface. Pour ingredients into a bottle (max 600 ml), screw on the blade unit, then position the bottle on the base aligning the I and ▲ marks. Plug in and press the ⊕ button in pulses or continuously until desired mixture. Do not exceed 60 seconds of continuous use.

What are the important safety instructions?

The blades are sharp: handle with care. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or disassembling. Do not immerse the base in water. Do not let children use the appliance. Use only liquids below 50 °C to avoid burns.

How to clean the blender?

Unplug the appliance. Wash the lid, bottle, and blade unit by hand in warm water. Dry them before reassembling. For the base, wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or metal brushes.

What to do if the appliance does not work?

Check the electrical connection. Make sure the bottle and blade unit are correctly attached: the I mark on the blade unit must point to the ▲ mark on the base, and the bottle must be turned in the direction of the arrow until a click is heard. The safety switch blocks startup if the assembly is incorrect.

What is the maximum capacity of the bottle?

The bottle has a maximum capacity of 600 ml. Do not exceed this mark. If ingredients foam, reduce the quantity.

Can I blend hot ingredients?

No, the liquid temperature must not exceed 50 °C to avoid burns and damage to the appliance.

What is the recommended operating time?

Do not use the appliance for more than 60 seconds continuously. Let it cool for at least 60 seconds before next use. After 5 cycles, let it cool to room temperature.

How to replace the blade unit?

The blade unit is removable. To remove it, unscrew it from the bottle after use. Replace it only with an original ProfiCook blade unit. Contact after-sales service for spare parts.

Can I crush ice with this blender?

Yes, the blender can crush ice. Cut hard fruits into small pieces and add enough liquid to facilitate blending. Use the pulse function.

How to store the appliance?

Clean the appliance and dry it. Store it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, out of reach of children. Preferably use the original packaging to protect it from dust.

General Notes

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
• Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
• The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
• Use only original spare parts.
• In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Instructions for the Appliance

WARNING:

• Risk of cuts! The mixer blades are sharp!
• Before replacement of accessories or additional parts which move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and cut off from the mains.
• Do not touch moving parts.
• Always check that the accessories are seated solidly and securely before switching the appliance on.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

WARNING:

• Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • This appliance shall not be used by children.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

CAUTION:

This appliance must not be immersed in water for cleaning. Please follow the instructions provided in chapter "Cleaning".

• Do not use the appliance if the mixing vessel is empty.
• Do not operate the appliance for longer than 60 seconds. Then let it cool down for approx. 60 seconds before using it again.
  • After 5 uses in a row, let the appliance to cool to room temperature before you use it again.
• Do not manipulate any of the safety switches!
• Do not remove the bottle during operation.
• Do not put your hands into the mixing blades.

Unpacking the Appliance

1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials like foils, filling materials, cable holders, and carton packaging.
3. Check the scope of deliveries for completeness.
4. Should the package contents be incomplete or damages be found, do not take the appliance into operation. Take it immediately back to the dealer.

NOTE:

There may still be dust or production remains on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under "Cleaning".

Location

Set the appliance onto a solid, level surface.

Preparation of the Appliance

i NOTE:

• Because of the risk of burning, do not fill with liquids at a temperature of above 50^ .
• Do not fill the bottle above the 600 ml mark.

• If the ingredients produce a lot of froth, do not overfill the bottle. Reduce the quantity accordingly.

• Fill your ingredients into the bottle and tighten the knife block by hand.

• Turn the bottle round and place it with the knife block onto the base appliance. Position the bottle so that the I mark on the knife block points to the ▲mark on the base unit. Turn the bottle in the direction of the arrow.

Electrical Connection

• Check that the mains voltage is correct before you connect the plug to the socket. The specifications of the appliance are shown on the type label.
• Only connect the appliance to a tested socket.

Operation

Did you connect the plug? Next, press the button ⊕.

- You can press intermittently or until all ingredients have been mixed.

NOTE: Short-time operation

Do not let the motor run for longer than 60 seconds and then pause for 60 seconds.

NOTE: Safety switch

Operation is prevented if the knife block or the bottle is not fitted correctly.

End of Operation

Has your smoothie been mixed well?

• Then release the Ⓗ button and pull the plug from the socket.
• Remove the knife block with the bottle from the base appliance and turn the bottle round.
• Now replace the knife block through the lid.

Tips and Recipes

• Cut large fruits in advance into smaller pieces.
• If necessary, remove the core.
• Use plenty of liquid to support the mixing process.
• The smoothie maker cannot crush hard fruits or ice.

Raspberry Cream Smoothie

Glasses: 4

Ingredients:

200 g raspberries
150 g skimmed milk yogurt
100 g whipped cream
50 g powdered sugar

Preparation:

Mix the raspberries and the yogurt in the smoothie maker. Stir in the liquid cream. Season with powdered sugar and pour into glasses. Decorate with fresh raspberries.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Glasses: 4

Ingredients:

1 ripe mango
300 g strawberries
2 tbsp. mango syrup
2 tbsp. cranberry full-fruit syrup
200 ml soy drink calcium with vanilla

Preparation:

Peel the mango and cut off the pulp along the seed. Weigh 250 g of pulp. Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and dab them dry. Put 4 strawberries and the remaining mango aside. Cut the remaining strawberries and the weighed mango into small pieces. Mix the fruits, both syrups, and the soy drink in the smoothie maker. Cut the remaining mango into small cubes, stir them in, and freeze in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Fill the drink into glasses and decorate with strawberries.

Orange Carrot Smoothie

Glasses: 4

Ingredients:

300 g carrots

Salt

4 juice oranges

1 pc. fresh ginger (3 cm)

1 pinch of red pepper

2 tbsp. maple syrup

1 bunch coriander

1 lime

1 tbsp. rape seed oil

Freshly ground pepper

Lime slices for decoration

Preparation:

Peel the carrots and cook them in a little salt water for approx. 30 minutes. Then drain them and let them cool. Squeeze the orange and measure 250 ml juice. Peel the ginger and grate it. Mix carrots, orange juice, ginger, red pepper, and maple syrup together in the Smoothie Maker and cool the mixture well. Rinse the coriander, shake it dry, and pull off the leaves. Squeeze the lime. Stir in the coriander, 1 to 2 tbsp. lime juice, and oil. Pour the carrot mixture into glasses and add a little coriander. Season with salt and pepper and serve. If desired, decorate with a slice of lime.

Apple Kiwi Smoothie

Glasses: 4

Ingredients:

1 pc. (approx. 40 g) fresh ginger
4 kiwi fruit
150 g salad cucumber
2 granny smith apples
5 to 6 leaves of mint
250 ml clear apple juice
Crushed ice

Preparation:

Peel the ginger and grate it. Peel the kiwi fruit and cut them into pieces. Peel the cucumber and the apples, remove the seeds, and cut into small pieces. Wash the mint and dab it dry. Mix in the smoothie maker together with the apple juice. Together with the crushed ice, pour into four glasses and serve immediately.

  They can also be mixed easily in the smoothie maker.

Cleaning

WARNING:

• Always remove the plug before cleaning.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.
- The blades on the knife block are very sharp. A risk of injury exists! Proceed carefully when disassembling, cleaning and assembling the individual parts.

CAUTION:

• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

Lid, Bottle, Knife Block

• Clean these parts by hand in a bowl of hot water.
  • Dry the parts before fitting them.

Housing

Only a moderately moist cloth should be used for cleaning the outside of the appliance.

Storage

• Clean the appliance as described above.
• We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if out of use for a long period of time.
  • Always store the appliance out of reach of children and in a well-ventilated, dry place.

Troubleshooting
