How to assemble the Bimar VPM411 fan?

Follow the steps in Fig. 1: attach the lower column to the base with the screw, screw the intermediate column then the upper column. Insert the cord into the columns, connect the male/female pins and lock. Attach the fan head to the upper column with the screw. Finally, place the cord in the guide under the base and secure it with the plate and screws.

What speeds are available and how to use them?

The selector allows 3 speeds: 1 (low), 2 (medium), 3 (high). Turn the selector to the desired position. Horizontal oscillation is also activated via the selector (positions 1, 2, 3 with oscillation).

How to clean the fan without damaging it?

Always unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or corrosive products. Do not immerse any part in water. Keep the motor ventilation holes free of dust.

Can I use the fan without the protective grille?

No, the fan must only be used with the protective grille properly assembled. Use without the grille poses a risk of injury.

How to adjust the vertical tilt?

The vertical tilt is adjusted manually by orienting the motor body upward, horizontal, or downward, as desired.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

- This device is intended for home use only, to ventilate rooms, and in the manner described in this manual: do not use it for any other purpose. Any other use is to be considered inappropriate and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for eventual damage caused by inappropriate, improper or irresponsible use and/or for repairs made to the product by unauthorised personnel.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

• staff kitchen in shops, offices and other working environments;
• farm houses

- In the event of a breakdown or poor operation, turn the fan heater off and ask for professionally qualified help: repairs made by unqualified persons can be dangerous and render void the warranty.

- Ensure that the fan is switched off from the supply mains before removing the guard.

INSTALLATION

• After removing the packing materials, check the integrity of the appliance; if you are unsure, do not use it and ask for qualified professional help. The packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, etc.) must be kept out the reach of children because they are potential sources of danger. Attention: any stickers or advertising material applied to the grid removed before using the appliance. The manufacturer declines all responsibility in case this is not safe working practices will be respected.
• Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage shown on the data plate matches that of your electricity, and that the electric plug is grounded. In the event of incompatibility between the electric outlet and the plug of the appliance, have the outlet replaced with another more suitable type by professionally qualified personnel, who will make sure that the section of the wires of the outlet is appropriate for the absorbed power of the heater. In general, the use of adapters or extension cords is not recommended; if their use is indispensable, they must conform to existing safety standards and their current capacity (amperes) must not be less than the maximum of the appliance.
• The power socket must be easy to reach so the plug can be removed quickly in case of emergency.
• To not place the appliance near sinks or other container of liquids (minimum distance of 2 meters) to avoid the risk of it falling in.
• Do not place the appliance near an open flame, cooking or other heating appliance.
• Keep the fan far away from fabrics (curtains, etc.) or unstable materials that could obstruct the air intake grille; make sure that the front is free of unstable materials (dust, etc.).
• Make sure that the electric cord is not touching rough, hot or moving surfaces and not twisted or wrapped around the appliance.
• Stand the appliance on a horizontal, flat surface; do not stand on a inclined plane (the appliance could upset).

ASSEMBLY

Attention: the fan can be used only when completely and correctly assembled, that is complete with its base and support and protection grid. If in doubt, have the appliance checked or assembled by a qualified professional person

Attention: always unplug the appliance before you assemble.

1) Fix the lower column (4) to the base and to the counter-weight (6), inserting it in its seat. Block it in place using the nut. At the end of the operation, check that the column and base are assembled solidly and correctly.

2) Screw the middle column (3) onto the lower column.

3) Screw the upper column (2) clockwise onto the middle column.

4) Insert the power cord into the lower, middle and upper columns so that the power plug is at the bottom.

5) Link the connector coming out from the upper tube to the connector coming out from the head of the fan and fix them by rotating the plastic nut.

6) Insert the "fan head" on the upper column so that the two holes coincide and make certain it is blocked by tightening the screws clockwise and making certain they are tight. At the end of the operation, check that the fan head and the column are assembled solidly and correctly.

7) Turn the appliance over to the ground on a cloth or other soft surface (taking care not to damage or deform the heating unit, columns and base, so as not to compromise its proper functioning.); place the cord inside its slide on the bottom of the base and secure it by means of the fixing plate and the two screws supplied in its seat.

Reposition the appliance in an upright position

The fan can be installed at two heights depending on whether or not the middle tube is used.

If the smaller size (without Middle column) is needed please avoid the point 2 of assembly and proceed to connect the upper tube to the lower tube by screwing them together.

USE

Before using, check that the equipment is in good state, that the electric cord is not damaged. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer of its technical service, or by a similarly qualified professional, to prevent any and all risk.

Insert the plug into the electric socket.

Fan: select the speed desired using the dedicated keys (7):

1 - Minimum speed 2 - Medium speed 3 - Maximum speed

To activate oscillation (right-left) turn the knob clockwise to the position corresponding to the desired power setting:

If the fan is working the light ring will be on; if the fan is off, the light ring will be off.

Vertical tilt (high-low): This is selected by tilting the motor body to the desired direction (high-horizontal-low).

To turn off the fan, press the selector switch into the "0" position and then remove the plug from the electric socket.

During long periods of inactivity, remove the plug from the electric socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention: before normal cleaning, remove the plug from the socket.

• Clean the body with soft, slightly damp, cloth; do not use abrasive or corrosive products.
• Do not immerse any part of the fan in water or other liquid: if this should happen, do not put your hand in the liquid, but first remove the plug from the socket. Carefully dry the appliance and make sure that all the electrical parts are dry: in the case of doubt, ask for professionally qualified help.
• It is essential that the motor's air holes be kept from dust and lint.
• If the fan will not be used for long periods, it must be protected from dust and humidity; we recommend storing it in its original packaging.
• Should you decide not to use the appliance any more, we recommend making it inoperative by cutting the power cord (after making sure you have disconnected the plug from the socket) and make dangerous parts harmless if children are allowed to play with them (such as the blade).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EC DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EC.

At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.
