• This appliance is meant exclusive- ly for personal use and for the in- tended purpose. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.

• Do not immerse it in water.

• Do not use the appliance out- doors and keep it away from sources of heat (e.g. electric stove) and direct sunlight. Please do not keep the appliance in the immediate vicinity of water sources (e.g. washbasin).

• Do not use this device with wet hands.15English

• Keep it on an appropriate surface so that it does not p over.

• Unplug the power plug when the appliance is not in use or during cleaning.

• Operate the device in accordance with the voltage that is indicated on the appliance label.

• This device is not intended to be used, cleaned or maintained by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilies or lack of experi- ence and/or knowledge. Unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safe- ty or have received instrucons from this person about how the appliance is to be used.16 English

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• In the interest of child safety, do not leave any packaging material (plasc bags, cardboard, polysty- rene, etc.) lying around.

• Fill the water tank only with cold water and do not boil the re- maining water for a second me.

• Do not move the appliance when it is being operated.

• Do not open the lid during oper- aon, it could cause burns!

• Steam escapes from the top of the appliance during operaon, maintain distance from the es- caping steam.17English

• The heang element remains hot for some me even aer the appliance is switched o. Ensure that nobody touches the inside of the container. There is a risk of burns!

• Use the appliance only with the supplied shut-o device.

• Provide clearance to other ob- jects and walls so that the air can circulate freely. Do not cover the appliance.

• Do not boil any liquids other than water.

• Do not operate the appliance without the an-scale lter, oth- erwise boiling water may spurt out.18 English

• The housing of the kele be- comes hot during operaon. Therefore hold the kele only us- ing the handle provided for this purpose.

• If the power cable is damaged, then it should be replaced by the manufacturer, his specialist deal- er or an equally qualied person, so as to prevent any risk.

• In the process, children should only use or clean the appliance under supervision or guidance.

• Do not overll the kele, other- wise water may spurt out.19English

Please read the following user manual carefully so as to get the most from the product you have purchased. When the device is put into operaon for the rst me, check the intactness of the product or components and their funcon again.

1. Scope of delivery

Remove the kele and the base plate out of the packaging and connect the base plate to a properly installed earthed socket. Wipe the surface of the kele using a slightly dampened cloth. To remove any manufacturing residues, ll the water container once with cold water up to the maximum mark before using it for the rst me. Boil the water by seng the target temperature to 100°C using the “+” and “-” buons or the “SET” buon and pressing the “Start” buon on the top of the handle to switch on the device. Finally pour the water away.

Press on the lid opener to open the ltable lid. Fill the kele with cold water and press the lid down ll it locks into place. Note: On the inside is a scale. Do not ll the container above the maximum mark. The boiling water may spurt out if the kele is overlled. Base Lid opener Operang elements Handle Display START buon “SET” and “KEEP WARM” buon “+” and “-”buon22 English If you place the kele on the base plate, the LED display now shows the current ACTUAL temperature of the water in the kele (display min. >= 0°C ). If the device is not used for 5 minutes, the display switches o automacally. The display can be reacvated by pressing any key, or by simply liing and placing the kele from the base. A control panel is located at the top of the handle. Press the „+“ and „-“ but- tons and select your desired temperature. Alternavely, you can directly select the temperatures 40/60/80/100°C with the „SET“ buon and correct it with the „+“ and „-“ buons. Press the „Start“ buon in order to start up the device (a short beep will sound) and it is indicated by the dot above the temperature display on the display. Once the water reaches the set temperature, you will hear a long beep signal. The heang element switches o automacally and the boiling process is stopped. The appliance can now be lied and the water can be used. If you want to stop the boiling process early on, you can press the "start" buon at any me. Before reaching the target temperature, the kele interrupts the heang process in order to carry out an intermediate measurement. Please wait unl the boiling process has been completed. An acousc signal sounds at the end if the signal tones are acvated. Note: If you press the „START“ buon directly when the display is switched on, the device is started with the last set temperature!

5.1 Keep-warm funcon

The "KEEP WARM" funcon is intended to keep the boiled water warm for a long period of me. Set your desired temperature with the “+” and “-” buons. Press the “KEEP WARM” buon in order to start. The kele acvates the keep-warm funcon for 30 minutes and maintains the set temperature. It is indicated by the three dots above the temperature display on the display. Please note that the ket- tle temperature heats up to temperatures above 90 °C, but that it can not keep temperatures above 90°C while in keep-warm funcon.

5.2 Switching key signals on and o

You have the possibility to switch o the signal tones o the device or to reduce them to the most necessary key tones. To do this, press the “Keep warm” and “Set” buons together. A short beep appears and means that the beeps are switched on. If a long beep appears when the “keep warm” and “set” buons are pressed, the beeps of the device are switched o. Press the “Keep warm” and “Set” buons together, to switch the key signals on and o.23English Aenon! For safety reasons the key signal of the “START” key cannot be switched o!

6. Descaling and cleaning

• We recommend to descale the kele at regular intervals depending upon the intensity of use.

• Before cleaning, pull out the power plug and wait unl the appliance cools down completely.

• The an-scale lter is located in front of the spout opening. Open the lid and press the plasc tab of the an-scale lter down to remove the lter.

• Rinse the lter thoroughly using warm water and then replace it back into its posion.

• When replacing, ensure that the an-scale lter sits properly in the guide rail.

• Please use only commercially available descaling agents based on citric acid to descale the water container.

• For the appropriate dosage, please refer to the specicaons on the package or insert of the descaling agent.

• The heang plate should not be specically cleaned. Do not use any hard objects on the heang plate.

• Use only a damp cloth for cleaning the kele externally.

• Do not use any abrasive items like wire brush or steel sponge for cleaning.

• Never use any cleaning agents which may corrode the surface or present a health risk if consumed!

• Never immerse the device, the power cable or the plug in water or in any other liquid to prevent risk of electric shock.

• For devices with a limescale lter in front of the spout opening, please pro- ceed as follows: Open the lid and push the plasc tab of the limescale lter downwards to remove the lter. Rinse the lter thoroughly with warm water and reinsert it into the posture. When inserng, make sure that the lime lter is seated in the slide rail. Please note!

7. Safety instrucons and liability disclaimer

Never try to open the device to carry out repairs or conversions. Avoid contact with mains voltages. Do not short-circuit the product. The device is not cered for use in the open air; only use it in dry condions. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Keep it away from high temperatures. Any repair or alteraon to the device not carried out by the original sup- plier, will invalidate the warranty or guarantee. The product may only be used by persons who have read and understood these instrucons. The device specica- ons may change without any separate prior noce to this eect.

8. Disposal instrucons

Electrical and electronic devices may only be disposed of in accordance with the European WEEE Direcve and not with household rubbish. Components must be disposed of or recycled separately as dangerous, toxic elements can inict sus- tained damage on the environment if they are disposed of incorrectly.
