• This appliance is meant exclusively for personal use and for the intended pur- pose. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.

• Please do not immerse it in water.

• Do not use the appliance outdoors and keep it away from sources of heat (e.g., electric stove) and direct sunlight. Please do not keep the appliance in immediate proximity to water sources (e.g., washbasin).

• Do not use this appliance with wet hands.

• Disconnect the power plug from the mains socket when the appliance is not being used or for cleaning.

• Operate the product only with the volt- age indicated on the appliance label.

Unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have received instrucons from this person about how the appliance is to be used.

• The housing of the kele becomes hot during operaon. Hold the kele only using the handle provided for this pur- pose.

• If the power cable is damaged, then it should be replaced by the manufactur- er, his specialist dealer or an equally qualied person, so as to prevent any risk.

• Children should use or clean the appli- ance only under supervision or guid- ance.18 English

Please read the following user man- ual carefully so as to get the most from the product you have purchased. Before using the product, rst check that the delivered item is complete, accurate and undamaged.

1. Scope of delivery

When using the appliance for the rst me, check the integrity of the product and its components as well as its funcon. Remove the kele and the base plate from the packaging and connect the base plate to a correctly installed earthed socket. Wipe the surface of the kele with a slightly damp cloth. To remove any manufac- turing residues, ll the water container with cold water up to the maximum mark before using it for the rst me. Boil the water by pressing the “100°C” buon. Wait for the water to boil and pour the water away aer boiling. This appliance is intended to be used in domesc and similar applicaons such as: in kitchens for employees in shops, oces and other commercial areas, on farms, by customers in hotels, motels and other residenal establishments and in bed and breakfasts. Never operate the appliance unaended and check it for any damage before each use. Press the lid opener to open the ltable lid. Fill the kele with cold water and press the lid down unl it locks into place. Note: A scale is provided on the inside. Do not ll the container above the maximum mark. The boiling water may spurt out if the kele is overlled. Then, place the kele on the base plate.

5.1 Boiling water directly

If you want to boil the water directly to 100°C, press the ‘ON/OFF’ buon. Then press the “100°C” buon. The kele starts to heat up to the set temperature. Important! It can be cancelled at any me by pressing the ON/OFF buon again! As soon as the water has reached the target temperature, the kele will signal this by beeping twice. The heang element switches o automacally and the process is complete. The appliance can now be lied and the water used.

5.2 Heang water based on target temperature

Press to heat the water to the desired target temperature (preset temperature values) The kele displays the currently selected temperature and then starts the boiling process. Alternavely, you can set the desired target temperature manually using the “+” and “-” buons.22 English If the process has started, the actual temperature currently measured is shown at the top of the display. This allows you to track the progress at all mes.

5.3 Keep warm funcon - heat water and keep warm for 2 hours

To set the kele to keep warm mode, the display must rst be acve (large tem- perature display is visible). Start the boiling process to the desired temperature. While the kele is boiling, briey press the “KEEP WARM” buon once. The “KEEP WARM” buon will start to ash. Alternavely, you can rst press the “KEEP WARM” buon and then select the desired temperature using the “+” and “-” buons or the preset temperatures and start the boiling process. If the water temperature falls about 5°C below the set value, the keep warm funcon is acvated and the contents are kept warm for up to 2 hours.

6. Body LED display on the side/display

• Shows the currently measured temperature and the mode.

• Is automacally deacvated aer 60 seconds in sleep mode (standby).

• Can be deacvated immediately by pressing and holding the "ON/ OFF" buon in sleep mode (standby).

• Can be reacvated by pressing the “ON/OFF” buon.

7. Switching the beep sounds on/o

When the display is acvated (large temperature display is visible), you can switch o the signal tones by holding down the “+” and “-” buons for 3 seconds. To reacvate, press and hold the “+” and “-” buons repeatedly for 3 seconds.23English

8. Descaling and cleaning

It is advisable to descale the kele at regular intervals depending upon the inten- sity of use. Before cleaning, pull out the power plug and wait unl the appliance cools down completely. Please use only commercially available descaling agents based on citric acid to descale the water container. For the appropriate dosage, please refer to the specicaons on the package or insert of the descaling agent. The heang plate should not be specically cleaned. Do not use any hard objects on the heang plate. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning the kele externally. Do not use any abrasive items like wire brush or steel sponge for cleaning. Never use any cleaning agents which may corrode the surface or present a health risk if consumed! Never immerse the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water or in any other liquid to prevent risk of electric shock. CAUTION!

9. Safety instrucons and disclaimer

Please do not try to open the appliance to carry out repairs or modicaons by yourself. Avoid contact with the mains supply. The appliance does not carry current only when disconnected. Please do not short-circuit the product. Do not forget to disconnect the power cord when the appliance is not being used or during thun- derstorms. The appliance is not approved for outdoor use. Please use it only in dry surroundings. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Never expose the appliance to high outdoor temperatures. Do not expose the appliance to sudden changes in temper- ature or heavy vibraons, as this could damage the electronic components. Check the appliance for any damage before using it. The appliance should not be used if it has been subject to impact or has been damaged in any other way. Please follow the local regulaons and restricons.24 English Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those described in this manual. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of chil- dren or mentally disabled persons. Use the appliance only with the base plate supplied. Any repairs or modicaons to the appliance not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims. The appliance should be used only by persons who have read and understood this user manual. The specicaons of the appliance may be changed without prior inmaon. 10. Disposal instrucons

In line with the European WEEE direcve, electrical and electronic appliances should not be disposed of along with domesc waste.
