The item is intended for private household use and the quantities usually handled in that setting. The item is not suitable for commercial or semi-domestic use in employee kitchens in shops, offices, and other commercial areas, on agricultural estates, by customers in hotels, motels, or other residential facilities, or in bed-n-breakfasts.
The item is not suitable for measuring the body temperature of humans or animals. The sensor tip presents a risk of injury!
Safety
- This item is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory, or intellectual abilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a responsible adult or have been instructed in the correct use of the item.
- Children must be supervised to make sure that they do not play with the item.
- Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. The device and batteries should therefore be kept
out of reach of small children. If a battery is swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.
DANGER for children
- Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed.
RISK of injuries
- Be careful when handling the thermometer. The sensor tip presents a risk of injury. Always put the protective cap on the sensor tip immediately after use.
RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion
-
There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the batteries only with those of the same or an equivalent type. Pay attention to the "Technical data".
-
Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or
short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!
- Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. If contact is made, immediately rinse the affected areas thoroughly with clean water and contact a doctor straight away.
BEWARE of material damage
- Do not submerge the control module in water or other liquids.
- Protect the item against sharp jolts and vibrations.
- Remove the batteries from the device once they have been consumed or if the device will be left unused for an extended period. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid.
- When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) .
-
Do not subject the battery to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing it on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
-
Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
- Only insert batteries of the same type; do not use different types or used and new batteries with each other.
- Do not make any modifications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user.
- The control module is not water tight. Do not clean it in the dishwasher.
- On the rear side of the control module there are two magnets. Do not, therefore, store it in the vicinity of cards with magnetic stripes (credit cards, access cards, etc.). The data saved on these could be damaged.
- When attaching the device to a surface using the magnets, do not slide the control module over the surface to which it is attached, as this could cause scratches.
Inserting/changing batteries
For use you require2 batteries of type R/LR03 (AAA), 1.5 V (included).
- Open the battery compartment on the rear side of the control module.
- Insert the batteries as indicated at the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) .

Measure temperature

RISK of burns
- Food, oven, and other parts can be very hot. Burns risk! Protect yourself by, for example, using potholders.

NOTE on preventing material damage
- The control module is not heat resistant. Do not leave it lying in the oven.
Advice on measuring
- Stick the sensor tip at least 1.5 ~cm deep into the thickest part of the meat.
- Do not take measurements directly on the bone.
- If the measured temperature is equal to or higher than the set temperature, a signal tone beeps repeatedly and the measured temperature flashes. The meat has then finished cooking according to your chosen settings. The warning beeps then stop, as soon as the measured temperature falls below the set temperature. If necessary, pay attention to the row in which the measured temperature is flashing (temperature sensor 1 or 2).
Measure temperature steadily (oven mode)
- Slide the function selector switch to COOK.
-
Select the meat type and degree of cooking (see "Select Meat Type and Degree of Cooking")
-
Remove the protective cap from the probe tip.
- Stick the probe tip into the meat.
- Slide the food into the oven and set the corresponding oven temperature.
- Guide the cable(s) outside of the oven and close the oven door. The cable adjusts itself to the seal of the oven door. Be careful around sharp-edged frames and hinges. Do not keep the control module in the hot oven.
- Place the control module near the oven.
The temperature will now be progressively measured and displayed.
Measure temperature selectively
- Slide the function selector switch to COOK.
- Select the meat type and degree of cooking (see "Select Meat Type and Degree of Cooking")
- Open the oven and remove the food.
-
Remove the protective cap from the probe tip.
-
Stick the probe tip into the food. Wait a few seconds before reading off the temperature on the display.
After use
- Remove the probe tip again and wipe it down with a soft, damp cloth.
Attention! Burns risk!
- Stick the protective cap onto the probe tip and slide the function selector switch to OFF.
Timing
The maximum range of a given measurement is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.
- Slide the function selector switch to TIMER.
- Press on MIN and simultaneously in order to set the indicator on the display to "00:00".

Simple timing
-
Press on S/S in order to start timing.
-
Each time, press on S/S MEAT again in order to interrupt the timing and to restart it.
Timer function
-
Set the timer interval with MIN (minutes) and SEC (seconds). If you press and hold MIN or SEC the displayed values change more quickly.
-
Press ( / SMEAT) in order to start, interrupt, and restart the timer. Once the set time has elapsed, a signal tone will beep for approx. 60 seconds and the display will flash.
-
Press any key on the display to stop the alarm in advance.

RISK of injuries
- Take care when cleaning. The sensor tips pose a risk of injury.

NOTE on preventing material damage
-
The control module is not water tight. Do not clean it in the dishwasher.
