General information About this operating manual This operating manual describes how to operate and maintain your product safely. Keep this operating manual in a safe place for future reference. If you pass this product on to someone else, pass on this operating manual as well. Failure to observe this operating manual may result in injuries or damage to your product.   • Disposal Safety This product may be used by children aged8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise. Children must not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8years of age or older and are being supervised. Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. Keep the product and batteries out of reach of small children. If batteries have been swallowed, seek medical help immediately.31 p. 4630

DANGER for children Keep children away from packaging material. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced improperly. Replace batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Observe the “Technical data”. Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into re, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape! Avoid contact of the battery uid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, immediately rinse the aected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor.32 BEWARE of material damage Protect the timer from strong shocks, vibrations, and moisture. Remove the batteries from the product if they are depleted or if the timer is not to be used for a while. This prevents damage that may be caused by leakage. When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-). Do not expose the batteries to extreme conditions, for example, by storing them on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!33

Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery. Do not make any changes to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user. 1. Slide the battery compartment cover

towards OPEN and remove it.

2. Insert the batteries as shown on the bottom

of the battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity (+/-).

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Notes on changing the battery: You need to change the batteries if the display shows nothing. Only use the battery type specified in the “Technical Data”.37

Always change all batteries at once. Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally friendly manner, see “Disposal”. Securing the timer NOTE on material damage Do not slide the timer over the surface as this could cause scratches. − Attach the timer with the magnet on its back to a metallic surface such as a fridge door. − Alternatively, hang the timer on a nail in the wall using the foldable hanging loop. − Third option: set up the timer on a countertop using the foldable foot.38 Using the timer When timing, you start a countdown. The timer enables to perform two measurements simultaneously, which are set and operated in exactly the same way. Max. adjustable time: 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

1. Use the timer selection buttons to toggle

the display between “T1” or “T2” (follow the display).

2. Use HR, MIN, and SEC to set the duration of

the short-time measurement. Keeping HR, MIN or SEC pressed speeds up the progress of displayed values.

3. Press START/STOP to start the timer.

The edging of the respective timer selection button flashes green. Once the set time has elapsed, the timer will beep for approx. 1minute.39

flashing, or wait approx.1minute until the timer automatically stops to beep. Instructions for use: Via START/STOP you can interrupt the countdown at any time and then start it running again. Using the stopwatch function The timer enables to perform two measurements simultaneously, which are handled in exactly the same way. Max. time measurement: 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

Seconds are displayed as 1/100 only in the first hour of timing, then as whole seconds. Memory function If you often use the same time period for a countdown, you can save it and call it up later with the push of a button. You can save a different duration for each timer.

and press M. Other functions Combining functions You can also combine the “Short-time measurement” and “Stopwatch” functions by performing a short-time measurement with43

Timer1 and using the stopwatch function with Timer2 at the same time. − Proceed as described in the respective sections. Adjusting the beep volume − Use the slide switch on the side to set the desired beep volume: HIGH - maximum volume LOW - low volume OFF - no beeping, only visual display with the edging of the selection buttons for timer 1 or 2 ashing red. Cleaning NOTE on material damage Do not immerse the timer in water or other liquids. Do not use rough, scratching or abrasive cleaning agents.44 − If necessary, remove dust with a soft, dry cloth, or wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Fault and remedy No function.
