Clean the windshield with a damp cloth. Stick the L-shaped black copper film onto the A-pillar (without trim). Remove the protective film from the antenna amplifier and stick it in the designated location. Stick the antenna film vertically, without air bubbles. Route the cable along the A-pillar. Avoid heated wires, metallic areas, and places that obstruct visibility.
How to connect the DR56C to the car radio?
You can use the built-in FM transmitter: press FREQ, select a free frequency (no FM station or interference) with the knob. You can also plug the supplied 3.5 mm audio cable into the AUX OUT of the DR56C and into the auxiliary input of the car radio. As soon as a cable is inserted, the FM transmitter is disabled.
How to pair a phone via Bluetooth?
Enable Bluetooth on the DR56C: press and hold MENU, go to Bluetooth setting, set to ON. On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and search for devices. Select DR56C. Once connected, the phone name is displayed at the bottom of the screen and the Bluetooth icon becomes steady.
What to do if DAB reception is poor?
First check that the antenna is installed correctly and vertically. Use exclusively the supplied power adapter and USB cable (cheap adapters can cause interference). Avoid unshielded electronic equipment nearby. If the problem persists, perform a new automatic station search (press and hold MENU, select DAB Autoscan).
How to adjust the FM transmitter frequency?
Press the FREQ button. Turn the ◀▶ knob to select a free frequency (no FM station or interference). The chosen frequency is displayed at the bottom of the screen and at the top right. The name of the DAB+ station is transmitted via RDS if the car radio supports it.
How to save a station as a favorite?
Select the desired DAB+ station. Press FAV to open the preset list. Turn the knob to choose a slot (1 to 20). Press and hold FAV to save. The message Stored Successfully appears.
Can I charge my phone via the DR56C?
Yes, connect your phone's USB cable to the USB port of the power adapter (5 V/2.1 A) supplied with the DR56C. This port allows charging of smartphones, tablets, etc.
How to use the SD card reader?
Insert a Micro SD card (contacts facing forward and upward) into the slot at the bottom of the device. Playback starts automatically. Use FAV to select the repeat mode (loop, random, single track). Press ▶ for play/pause, turn the knob to change tracks.
How to reduce screen brightness at night?
Press and hold the button (phone/play key) to dim the display. Press and hold again to return to normal brightness. You can also change the button backlight via the menu: press and hold MENU, go to Button Light.
What to do if the device does not turn on?
Check that the USB adapter is properly plugged into the cigarette lighter and that the micro USB cable is correctly connected to the DR56C. Ensure the cigarette lighter works (some vehicles cut power after the ignition is off). If the problem persists, contact customer service.

12. Troubleshooting

Poor DAB reception on some roads, part 1.

Since the DAB network has not yet been fully developed, this can lead to poor reception, especially in rural areas that have not yet been fully developed. Therefore, test the DR56C adapter in a better-developed area before sending the device for repair due to poor reception.

Problem: Poor DAB reception, part 2.

Commercially available USB adapters without interference suppression are suitable for many purposes, but not for strong DAB receivers. Therefore, for the best possible reception, you should use the USB cable and the USB power supply supplied in the product contents and specifically designed for the DR56C adapter.

Problem: Poor DAB reception, part 3.

Please check if the supplied DAB antenna has been installed exactly as described in the assembly instructions. Also check if the antenna is properly grounded. Other electronic devices that have no interference suppression (such as low-cost dashcams) can cause interference in the DAB reception, especially inside the vehicle.

13. Safety instructions

  • Clean the device only with a dry cloth.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Use only the accessories supplied by the manufacturer.
  • Do not expose this radio to rain or moisture.
  • Do not expose the radio to excessive heat.
