Starting and stopping the generator
Do not connect any devices before the generator has been switched on! Switch the fuel tap (FUEL) to the ON position (open).
Depress the choke handle to the ‘choke’ setting.
Press the ON/OFF switch to I.
Pull the starter rope out until you feel resistance. Then pull the cord forcefully all the way out, but not too far. Repeat this process until the engine starts.23
Slowly and gradually restore the choke to is original setting; the engine must continue to run smoothly.
After starting the engine, run without drawing any power for around 3 minutes. Then connect the devices; if multiple devices are to be connected, do so one by one, connecting the most demanding first. Most devices require more power when starting than during operation (peak flow); be careful that you do not exceed the maximum output of the generator! To stop the generator, first switch off all of the connected devices and disconnect them. Then press the start button into the 'stop' setting; the engine will stop. Finally, shut the fuel tap (OFF). Safety recommendations The Eurom GE720 is fitted with two thermal safeguard that switches the device off if it is overloaded. The red 230V- safety button is located on the front, by the 230V-socket; the 12V-safety button is on the side, near the 12V-socket. In the event of an overload, the button will pop out. Disconnect all devices and let the generator cool down for at least 5 minutes. Then reset the generator by pushing the button in again. Restart the generator with a lower load. If the thermal safeguard switches off the generator even though you know that it is not overloaded, stop using the generator and take it to your supplier for checks/repair. Regular checks ,maintenance, storage and reuse Always turn the generator off before carrying out maintenance! Spark plug Check the spark plug after 50 working hours. Remove any carbon build-up, check to ensure the spark plug is not discolored and, if necessary, set the opening (0.7 to 0.8 mm), or replace the spark plug with another of the same type.24
Air filter Clean the air filter every 150 working hours or 3 months (whichever comes first). Undo the panel on the socket side (2 large cross-head screws). Remove the air filter (foam block) and wash it in a little clean petrol. Drip a little engine oil (SEA20) on it and press (do not wring) the filter out carefully. Let the filter dry thoroughly before replacing. Replace the panel. A damaged or worn air filter must be replaced. Never run the generator without the air filter! Fuel filter Clean the fuel filter after every 150 working hours/3 months (whichever comes first); the fuel filter is found in the filling opening, under the cap. Take the filter out of the opening, clean it in a little clean petrol, dry and then replace. A damaged or worn fuel filter must be replaced. Never run the generator without the fuel filter! Store
