Frequently Asked Questions - AD 1299 ADLER

How to use the keep warm function?
Press and hold the A button for 3 seconds. A beep sounds, the light turns red. After boiling, the kettle keeps water at 85 °C for 2 hours.
How to set the temperature between 60 and 90 °C?
Press the B button one to four times to select 60, 70, 80 or 90 °C. The light changes color (green, blue, yellow, purple) and the kettle stops at the selected temperature.
Can I boil water without the infusion basket?
Yes, the infusion basket is removable. Simply remove it before filling with water. Make sure the lid is closed for the automatic shut-off to work.
Why does the kettle turn off before the water boils?
This can happen if the lid is not properly closed or if the kettle is overfilled (above MAX level) or underfilled (below MIN level). Check the level and that the lid is properly locked.
How to descale the kettle?
Use a commercial descaling product. Fill the kettle with the descaling solution, boil, then let it sit. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Regular descaling is required to maintain the warranty.
What to do if the light does not turn on?
Check that the kettle is correctly placed on its base, that the plug is properly connected, and that the ON/OFF switch is pressed. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service, do not repair it yourself.
Can I use an extension cord?
It is not recommended to plug multiple devices into the same circuit. If an extension cord is necessary, use one with a ground wire suitable for the power (2200 W). For safety reasons, prefer a direct outlet.
Should the lid be closed during boiling?
Yes, the lid must be closed for the automatic shut-off to work correctly. Do not open it during boiling due to hot steam.
How to clean the filter?
Remove the filter (located in the kettle) and rinse it under running water. Use a soft brush if necessary. Wipe the base with a dry cloth, never immerse it.
What to do in case of boiling water spill?
Turn off the kettle immediately and unplug it. Let it cool down. In case of a burn, rinse with cold water for at least 10 minutes and consult a doctor if necessary.

Yes, the ADLER AD 1299 can be used to prepare coffee, although it is primarily designed as an electric kettle for tea.

This device is a versatile 1.5L kettle equipped with a removable infuser basket and several temperature settings.

How to use it for coffee?

  • Heating water: The device can heat water up to 100°C, which is suitable for coffee. You can use it to fill your coffee maker, coffee filter, or prepare pour-over coffee.
  • Temperature settings: The device offers 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, and 100°C (standard boiling). The 90°C setting is particularly suitable for coffee water.
