The electric toothbrush is intended solely for tooth cleaning and oral hygiene in humans. The device is designed for private, domestic use. This device must not be used for commercial purposes.

The toothbrush, the travel case, the power adapter, the battery charger, the mains power cable and the mains plug must never be immersed in water or any other liquids.
- Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water splashes: failure to observe this instruction may result in an electrical shock hazard.
- Never touch the device with wet hands.
- Make sure that the surface under the device is dry.
- If the battery charger has fallen into water, pull out the mains plug immediately, and only then remove the battery charger from the water.

If the travel case has nevertheless fallen into water while connected for charging, pull out the power adapter immediately, and only then take the travel case out of the water.

If this happens, do not use the battery charger or the travel case again until it has been checked by a specialist workshop.

The installation of a residual current device with a nominal trip current not exceeding 30mA in the building wiring offers additional protection. Contact a skilled electrician in this regard.
- Do not start using the device if the device, the travel case, the power adapter, the battery charger or the mains power cable shows visible damage, or if the device has previously been dropped.
- Only connect the mains plug and power adapter into a properly installed and easily accessible wall socket whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
The hand unit of the toothbrush must only be charged using the battery charger supplied, or in the travel case.
- Ensure that the mains power cable and the cable of the power adapter cannot be caught or crushed, and that they cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot points.
To fully disconnect the battery charger from the power, pull out the mains plug.
- When pulling the mains plug and the power adapter out of the wall socket, always pull by the plug and never by the cable.
- Disconnect the mains plug and the power adapter from the wall socket ... - ...if there is a fault, - ...when you are not using the device, - ...before you clean the device and - ...during thunderstorms.
In order to avoid any hazards, do not make modifications to the device. Repairs must be carried out by a specialist workshop or the Service Centre.

  • When using an extension cable, this must correspond to the applicable safety regulations.

Do not expose the device to direct sunshine or heat. The ambient temperature should not be lower than 10^ or higher than 40^ .
The battery must be charged only with the original accessory (power adapter, battery charger) supplied.

  • Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type.
  • Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore you should store batteries out of the reach of young children. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.
    DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Batteries must not be charged or reactivated by other means, nor must they be dismantled, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.
    Always remove used batteries from the device immediately, since these may leak and therefore cause damage.
  • Remove the batteries from the device if you intend not to use it for an extended period of time. The batteries may leak and damage the device.
    Do not subject batteries to extreme conditions, place them on radiators or expose them to direct sunlight. Otherwise, there is an increased danger of batteries leaking.
    Always replace all batteries at the same time.

If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact with the acid, rinse the affected area at once with plenty of clean water and seek medical assistance immediately.
- Batteries must be properly disposed of after use.

CAUTION

Users could possibly experience mild bleeding of the gums during the first days of electric toothbrush usage. Should the bleeding continue over several days, a dentist should be consulted.
Exert only light pressure when brushing to prevent damage to the gums and to increase the service life of the bristles.

5. Clock with timer

5.1 Inserting the Batteries

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

  • Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries (graphic on the bottom of the battery compartment).

You need two batteries of type

LRO3 / AAA 1.5 V (contained in items supplied).

  1. Lever open the battery compartment cover 28 of the clock 26 at the recess and lift it off.
  2. If necessary, replace the old batteries with new ones. Be sure to observe the graphics illustrating the alignment of the batteries on the bottom of the battery compartment 29.
  3. Place the battery compartment cover 28 onto the clock 26 and press it down.

5.2 Setting the time (Figure A)

  1. Lever open the battery compartment cover 28 of the clock 26 at the recess and lift it off.
  2. Hold down the button 30 for approx. 4 seconds. The display 27 shows 12h or 24h

  3. 24-hour display: the hours are displayed from 0 to 24.

  4. 12-hour display: the hours are displayed from 0 to 12.

  5. Press the button 31 to switch between the two hour display modes.

  6. Press the button 30. The hours flash on the display 27.
  7. Repeatedly press the button 31 to set the hours.

  8. Repeatedly press the button 31 to set the time in 10 minute intervals.

  9. Press the button 30. The singles digit of the minutes flashes in the display 27.
  10. Repeatedly press the button 31 to set the time in one minute intervals.
  11. Press the button 30. The time is now set.
  12. Place the battery compartment cover 28 onto the clock 26 and press it down.

5.3 Setting up the clock

  1. Figure B: press the clock 26 into the housing.
  2. Place the clock 26 on a flat surface.

5.4 Wall mounting

  1. Figure B: press the clock 26 into the housing.
  2. Remove one of the protective films from the ring 32 and stick it onto the wall mount 33.
  3. Clean the smooth surface (e.g. mirror, wall tile) to which you wish to apply the wall mount.
  4. Remove the other protective film and stick the wall mount to the surface.
  5. Mount the clock 26 in the housing on the wall mount.

5.5 Switching Bluetooth connection on/off

The toothbrush 11 is connected to the clock 26 via Bluetooth. This connection is already switched on when supplied.

Switching off Bluetooth

Switch off the Bluetooth connection e.g. if you are not using the clock 26 and you wish to spare the battery.

  1. Switch on the toothbrush 11 using the on/off switch 7 and then immediately switch it off again.
  2. Hold down the button P 8 for approx. 3 seconds and additionally briefly press the on/off switch 7. The LED 6 flashes rapidly 4 times in white. The Bluetooth connection has now been broken. When you switch the toothbrush 11 on again, the LED 6 will no longer be lit.

Switching on Bluetooth

  1. Switch on the toothbrush 11 using the on/off switch 7 and then immediately switch it off again.
  2. Hold down the button P 8 for approx. 3 seconds and additionally briefly press the on/off switch 7. The LED 6 flashes rapidly 4 times in white. The Bluetooth connection is now switched on. When you switch the toothbrush 11 on again, the LED 6 will be lit and the connection to the clock 26 will be restored after approx. 10 seconds.

5.6 Displays during brushing

  • When the Bluetooth connection is switched on, the timer automatically starts when you begin brushing your teeth.
  • The display 27 shows the intervals during brushing as corners. The display begins in the top right of the display 27, and moves round clockwise after each 30 second interval.
    During brushing, the display 27 shows the symbol of the active mode.
    After 2 minutes, the display 27 shows a smiley.

6. Setting up the battery charger

The battery charger 16 is connected to the power voltage, and must therefore not be used in the shower, in the bath, or over washbasins filled with water.

  • Never set up the battery charger 16 anywhere it could fall into water.

7. Charging the battery

NOTES:

  • Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
    It takes approx. 16 hours to fully charge the battery.
  • Place the toothbrush 11 on the peg of the battery charger 15 after use. This ensures that the toothbrush 11 always works at full power. The battery is not damaged by regular charging.

Battery charger

  1. Plug the mains plug 17 of the battery charger 16 into a suitable wall socket. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after connection.
  2. Place the switched-off toothbrush 11 onto the peg of the battery charger 15. The charging indicator light 10 flashes white throughout the entire charging process. Lit segments of the charging indicator light show the progress of the charging process. When the battery is fully charged, first all segments of the charging indicator light 10 are lit, and then they go out.

Travel case

  1. Place the switched-off toothbrush 11 into the travel case 18.
  2. Insert the Micro USB plug 25 of the power adapter 24 into the Micro USB port 22 of the travel case 18.
  3. Plug the power adapter 24 into a suitable wall socket. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after connection. The control light 23 of the travel case is lit green.
  4. Place the switched-off toothbrush 11 into the travel case. One segment of the charging indicator light 10 flashes white throughout the entire charging process. Lit segments of the charging indicator light show the progress of the charging process. When the battery is fully charged, first all segments of the charging indicator light 10 are lit, and then they go out.

Toothbrush 11 on the battery charger 16 or in the travel case 18:

  • All segments of the charging indicator light 10 are lit white and then go out: the battery is fully charged.

  • One segment of the charging indicator light 10 flashes white: the battery is being charged.

Toothbrush 11 switched on:

  • The charging indicator light 10 flashes red: the battery is weak. Charge the battery.

8. Toothbrush heads

The items supplied include 8 toothbrush heads 3. The various marking rings 4 allow you to assign the toothbrush heads 3 to different family members.

  • Take a toothbrush head 3 and slide it onto the peg of the toothbrush 5.
  • In order to remove, carefully pull the toothbrush head 3 off upwards.
  • The indicator bristles 2 on the brush head 1 slowly lose their colour during use. The decolouration shows when the toothbrush heads 3 should be replaced.

NOTE: we recommend that you replace the toothbrush heads 3 every 3 months or after infections (see "Ordering toothbrush heads" on page 13).

9. Operation

CAUTION:

  • Users could possibly experience mild bleeding of the gums during the first days of electric toothbrush usage. Should the bleeding continue over several days, a dentist should be consulted.
  • If you have had dental surgery in the last two months, consult a dentist before using the toothbrush.
    Exert only light pressure when brushing to prevent damage to the gums and to increase the service life of the bristles.

9.1 Modes

The toothbrush 11 has 6 different modes. Depending on the desired mode, press the function button P8 repeatedly when switched on or off, until the corresponding symbol is lit:

Normal mode

  • for cleaning teeth with high pulsation

Deep cleaning mode

  • pulsating brushing for cleaning teeth with high pulsation

Sensitive mode /

  • gentle brushing for cleaning teeth with sensitive gums

NOTE: if you are not used to using an electric toothbrush and you have comparatively sensitive gums, you can use this mode for the first 1 to 2 weeks, and then switch to Normal mode later.

Massage mode ≈

  • pulsating brushing to massage your gums

Brighten mode

  • pulsating brushing to brighten your teeth

Tongue cleaning mode

  • for cleaning the tongue Gently move the toothbrush head 3 over your tongue.

9.2 Brushing teeth

  1. Remove the toothbrush 11 from the battery charger 16.
  2. Switch on the toothbrush using the on/off switch 7.
  3. Press function button P8 repeatedly until the function display 9 for the desired mode is lit.
  4. Switch off the toothbrush using the on/off switch 7.
  5. Moisten the bristles, apply some toothpaste, and only switch on the toothbrush 11 again when the brush head 1 is already in your mouth.
  6. Slowly guide the brush head 1 from tooth to tooth without exerting too much pressure. Carefully clean all tooth surfaces, the inner surfaces of the teeth and the tooth edges.

Figure C: the recommended brushing time is at least 2 minutes, divided up into 30-second periods for each area of the mouth (bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left). The toothbrush 11 indicates these intervals by a brief interruption.

NOTE: if the brush head 1 is pressed against the teeth too hard, the LED 6 lights up red. You should then reduce the pressure.

  1. Switch off the toothbrush using the on/off switch 7. Remove the brush head 1 from the mouth only when the toothbrush 11 has been switched off.

NOTES:

  • We recommend that you replace the toothbrush heads 3 every 3 months or after infections (see "Ordering tooth-brush heads" on page 13).
  • The indicator bristles 2 on the brush head 1 slowly lose their colour during use. The decolouration shows when the toothbrush heads 3 should be replaced.

10. Transport when traveling

10.1 Transport lock

To secure the toothbrush 11 against accidentally being switched on, activate the transport lock.

  • Switching on the transport lock: Hold down the on/off switch ⑦ until the LED 6 flashes red three times.
  • If you try to switch on the tooth-brush 11 with the transport lock activated, the left LED 6 will flash red.
  • Switching off the transport lock: Hold down the on/off switch 67 until the LED 6 flashes red three times.

10.2 Travel case

The travel case 18 has space for the toothbrush 11 and 2 brush heads 1.

  • Open the travel case 18 by pressing on the pressure cap 20.
  • Close the travel case 18 by carefully pressing the lid down until it audibly clicks into place.

Before cleaning the battery charger 16, pull the mains plug 17 out from the mains socket.
Before cleaning the travel case 18, disconnect the power adapter 24 from the mains socket.
- Never immerse the toothbrush 11, travel case 18, power adapter 24 or battery charger 16 in water! The battery charger 16 and the travel case 18 must be completely dry before being reconnected to the wall socket.

To ensure the hygienic functionality of the toothbrush heads 3 they must be rinsed thoroughly after every use and allowed to dry.
- Remove the toothbrush head 3 once per week and clean it in hot water.
- Rinse the toothbrush 11 as well and wipe it dry.
- Wipe the battery charger 16 and the travel case 18 with a damp cloth if necessary and rub dry.
- Figure D: if required, remove the inner part 19 of the travel case 18. You can clean this inner part in the dishwasher. After drying, replace the inner part onto the peg 21 and place it into the travel case 18.
- Figure E: if required, press the battery charger 16 out of the stand 14. You can clean the stand separately. After drying, press the battery charger 16 into the stand until it clicks into place.

12. Storage

  • Disconnect the device from the mains and store it in a dry location.

13. Disposal

This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. 17. Warranty of the HOYER Handel GmbH

Dear Customer,

your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.

If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us - at our discretion - free of charge to you, or the purchase price will be refunded. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.

If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.

Warranty coverage

The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery.

The warranty applies to material or factory defects.

Excluded from the warranty are wear parts subject to normal wear and damages to fragile parts, e.g. switches, batteries, lamps or other parts manufactured from glass.

This warranty expires if the product is damaged, not used as intended or not serviced. For the proper operation of the product, all instructions listed in the operating instructions must be observed carefully. Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided.

The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.

Handling in case of a warranty claim

In order to ensure prompt processing of your matter, please observe the following notes:

  • Please keep the article number
    IAN: 321713_1901 and the purchase receipt as a purchase verification for all inquiries.
  • The article number can be found on the rating plate, an engraving, the title page of your instructions (in the bottom left), or as a label on the rear or underside of the device.
  • If faulty operation or other defects occur, first contact the Service Centre listed in the following by telephone or email.
  • Then, you are able to send a product reported as defective free of charge to the service address specified to you, including the purchase receipt and the information on the defect and when it occurred.
