USER MANUAL MS 8640 GRUNDIG
SAFETY _____________________________ Please read this instruction manual thoroughly before using this appliance! Follow all safety instructions in order to avoid damages due to improper use! Keep the instruction manual for future refe- rence. Should this appliance be given to a third party, then this instruction manual must also be handed over.
The appliance is intended for domestic use only.
Never use the appliance if it, the cutting head or the power adapter show any signs of dam- age.
Only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appli- ance.
Only to be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance.
Never use or charge the appliance in the bath, shower or over a wash basin filled with water; nor should it be operated with wet hands.21ENGLISH
After charging, pull out the power adapter.
Caution! Always keep the power adapter dry.
When the appliance is being charged, on no account should it come into contact with water or any other liquid.
Never use the appliance if it, the cutting foils or the blade blocks are visibly damaged.
Do not completely immerse the appliance in water.
After charging always disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket.
Do not drop the appliance.
To avoid damaging the power cord, prevent it from being squashed, bent or from rubbing on sharp edges. Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces and open flames. SAFETY _____________________________22 ENGLISH
Never place the appliance, accessories or power adapter on or near hot surfaces.
Check that the mains voltage on the rating label corresponds to your local mains supply.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
Our GRUNDIG Household Ap pliances meet applicable safety standards, thus if the ap- pliance is damaged, it must be repaired or placed by a service centre to avoid any dan- gers. Faulty or unquali fied repair work may cause danger and risks to the user.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with re- duced physical, sensory or mental capabili- ties or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruc- tion concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Warning: Detach the hand-held part from
the supply cord before cleaning it under water.
The battery must be removed from the appli- ance before it is scrapped.
The appliance must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery.

The battery should be charged for at least 90 minutes before first use.
Ensure that the appliance is switched off before charging the battery.
Ensure the +/- terminals are cor- rectly aligned: the guide rod in the charge inlet must be in the guide groove on the charge con- nector. Otherwise the connector can not be plugged in.
The battery charge level is shown in percent (%) on the display LCD. The strip light will play from dark to light. ( , 3)
As soon as the battery is fully charged, the strip lights will stop looping, and show white light abidingly.
When fully charged, approx. 50 minutes operation time.
Only apply a slight amount of pressure when shaving. Gentle movements against the direction of beard growth. ( , 8-9)
Always pull the skin taut when shaving difficult areas such as your lower jaw. Always cut against the natural direction of beard growth. In the case of thick or copious beard growth which cannot be removed by just one shave, do one quick shave and then a more thorough second one.
The best results are achieved if used on dry skin.
It can take around 2 weeks until the skin is accustomed to the dry shaving system. Travel lock ( , 16-17) To ensure that the shaver cannot switch on accidentally, you can lock the On/Off switch button. The appliance starts to operate after the keypad is unlocked. You can turn off the appliance by pressing On/Off button.26 ENGLISH General information The appliance must be cleaned regu- larly so that you can continue to en- joy its top performance and optimum results. Cleaning and care Caution
Do not remove the shaving heads while the shaver is switched on. You should therefore always switch the shaver off before clean- ing.
Never press on the cutting blades and guards and do not touch them with hard objects, as this can cause irreparable damage to the shaver or parts. Warning
Always switch the shaver off and disconnect it from the mains be- fore cleaning and always unplug the charger from the electrical socket!
Ensure that no water gets into the inside of the shaver or the charger, to avoid the risk of an electric shock when it is back in operation.
Be careful when dealing with the blades as they are very sharp. INFORMATION _____________________ Caution
Ensure that only the triple shaving heads unit is under the stream of water! The shaver handset is only protected against water splashes andcan be irreparably damaged if it is held under running water. Note
Allow the triple shaving heads unit to dry before you use the shaver again. Storage
If you do not plan to use the ap- pliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.
Make sure that it is unplugged and is completely dry.
Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
