Frequently Asked Questions - GP 1100.1 Güde

What to do if the pump does not start?
First check the supply voltage. If the voltage is correct, the pump impeller may be blocked. Turn the motor shaft with a screwdriver through the fan cover after loosening the glued joint of the thrust washer.
Why does the pump not suck?
Possible causes are: missing, blocked or not immersed foot valve; pump body without water; suction head too high; air bubbles in the suction line; non-tight connections. Check and correct each point.
How to prime the pump before use?
Fill the pump body with water through the filling opening. Ensure the suction line is tight and the foot valve is immersed. The pump must be primed to operate correctly.
What is the maximum suction head of the pump?
The maximum suction head is 8 meters. Beyond that, the pump may not suck properly.
Can I use this pump for drinking water?
No, it is strictly forbidden to use this pump for pumping drinking water. It is designed only for clean water not intended for human consumption.
How to maintain the pump before winter?
Completely drain the pump and hoses to prevent frost damage. Store it frost-free. You can rinse the pump with vegetable oil to reduce sticking of the mechanical seals.
What to do if the water flow is insufficient?
Check the suction head (max. 8 m), clean the suction strainer of the foot valve, and check the water level. If the level drops quickly, lower the foot valve.
The pump stops after a while and overheats, what to do?
The thermal protection has cut off the power due to overheating. Let the pump cool down. Check that the power supply is correct and that no impurities block the suction opening.
What accessories are recommended for this pump?
Use a suction hose with non-return valve, a foot valve and a pre-filter. The manual mentions Teflon sealing tape for the connections.
Where can I find spare parts or the manual?
Go to www.guede.com in the Service section. Have the serial number, order number and year of manufacture (on the rating plate) ready.

Read and understand the operating instructions before using the appliance. Abide by all the safety measures stated in the service

manual. Act responsibly toward third parties. In case of any doubts about connection and operation refer please to our customer center

Specified Conditions of Use

The pump is designed for pumping clean water only to supply the home with water and to use it at home, in garden, courtyard and for fields. Respecting technical data and safety precautions.

Do not use this product in any other way as stated for normal use. Not observing general regulations in force and instructions from this manual does not make the manufacturer liable for damages.

The pump is not suitable for long-term operation (e.g. as a circulating pump in ponds or for brooks). If this type of operation is carried out, the service life will be reduced accordingly.
Do not leave the pump unattended while in operation in order to prevent subsequent damages caused by eventual malfunctions. Make sure to disconnect the device from the grid if you do not plan on using it.
⚠ Do not use the pump for drinking water!
The pump must not be connected to the existing water-supply network as a pressure-boosting device.
⚠️ Never use the pump as a pool circulation pump.

Safety Warnings

WARNING! Electric shock! There is a risk of an injury caused by electric shock!

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or insufficient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have been instructed by them in the safe use of the appliance.

Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the tool. Always keep children and unauthorised persons out of reach of the appliance.

Operation is only allowed with a safety switch against stray current (RCD max. stray current of 30mA).

Before putting into operation, a qualified electrician must check whether electric safety measures required are in place. Any national regulations in this regard must be complied with.

Electric connection to a socket.

Do not expose tools to rain. Do not use tools in damp or wet locations.

It is necessary to make sure the connecting socket was not near water and humidity and the plug was protected against humidity.

Avoid installing the appliance in wet shafts (risk of short circuit, corrosion effects)!

Check the voltage. Technical data given on the type label must correspond with electric network voltage.

Only use splash proof extension cables approved for outdoor purposes.

Do not grab the feeder cable, plunge the pump, lift or carry it while it is connected to the grid!

Check the cable and/or socket for damages before the appliance putting into operation.

To avoid danger, a damaged mains supply pipe must be replaced by the manufacturer. Do not under any circumstances attempt any repair yourself.

Protect the feeder cable from excessive temperatures, oil and sharp edges.

⚠️ If the pump is in operation, neither people nor animals can be present or plunged in the pumped liquid (e.g. pools, cellars, etc.).
⚠️ The pump must not in any case run without fillings

Do not leave the pump unattended while in operation in order to prevent subsequent damages caused by eventual malfunctions. Make sure to disconnect the device from the grid if you do not plan on using it.

The temperature of the drained liquid must not exceed +35 °C.

When using the pump for domestic water supply, always observe the local regulations of water management authorities and the waste water drainage.

If the pump is used in ponds, wells, etc. and appropriate pumping stations, standards valid for pumps in the given country must unconditionally be observed.

Do not use pump at outside temperatures over 40 °C or under 0 °C

In cold weather, the pumping body motor should not be wrapped in a blanket or another piece of textile with intent to prevent the water freezing.

The user is responsible to third parties if pump (dumping stations, etc.) is used.

Water escapes between the motor and pump, mechanical seal leaks (approx. 35 drops of water per day is considered insignificant, this leakage is functional with a mechanical seal).

Requirements for operating staff

The operating staff must carefully read the Operating Instructions before using the appliance.

Qualification: Apart from the detailed instructions by a professional, no special qualification is necessary for appliance using.
