General safety instructions

The product matches the requirements of the EN 61000-3-11 standard and requires special connection conditions. That means it cannot be used at optional connecting points. If there are any unfavourable network conditions the appliance can cause voltage spikes. The product is explicitly intended to be used at connecting points that a) do not exceed maximum admissible network impedance of Z_max=0,233 , or b) have long-term network rating of at least 100 A for each phase. You, as the user, must ensure (if necessary, after consultation with the electric energy supplier) that the connecting point on which you want to operate the appliance met one of those two conditions a) or b).
The Operating Instructions need to be read carefully before first use of the appliance. If there are any doubts concerning the connection of handling of the appliance please contact the producer (service department).
TO ENSURE HIGH SAFETY LEVEL PLEASE OBEY THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

The pump is not suitable for long-term operation (e.g. as a circulation pump in ponds or brooks). The service life gets shorter accordingly if the pump is used in this manner. In such a case, use a switching clock and ensure sufficiently long breaks between the operating cycles.

The pump must not be connected to the existing water system as equipment increasing the pressure.

The pump is not suitable as a long-term, automatic safety against overflow of tanks and wells or for control of underground water in cellars.

Transport and storing

When storing the appliance for a winter period it is necessary to make sure there is no water in the appliance as frost could be a cause for appliance damage.
At each transport and carrying, the appliance must be disconnected from electric current source!
Assembly and first putting into operation
Filter and sludge screen
At pumping water with sand contents, the pump needs to be operated with a sludge filter (available as accessory) for the suction connector. Sand entering the mechanical seal (propeller shaft engine - pump) would damage the pump! That would mean, even during the guarantee time, your own fault and the guarantee does not relate to such failures.
Safety instructions for first putting the pump into operation

Attention: the pump must never run dry.
Do not use the pump for pumping drinking water!
The user is responsible to other persons as far as pump (pumping station, etc.) operation is concerned.
Operate on connectors fitted with an earth-leakage circuit-breaker only!
Before putting the appliance into operation, a competent electrician must check that the appliance disposes of the required electric safety elements.
Wiring is done to a socket. Check the voltage. Technical data specified on the label must correspond with the electrical network voltage.
If you use the pump for small lakes, wells, etc. and pumping stations you must follow appropriate standards of the country in which the pump is used.
Electrical pumps used outdoor must be fitted with a rubber H07RNF-type electric cable corresponding to DIN 57282 or DIN 57245 standards.
When the pump is in operation, there must be no people or animals in the pumped liquid (e.g. in pools, cellars, etc.)
The temperature of the pumped liquid must not exceed +35°C. If you use an extension cable it must be solely of rubber, the H07RNF type, corresponding to DIN 57282 or DIN 57245 standards. Never touch, lift or carry a pump
connected to electrical network with a cable. Make sure there is no water or moisture in the connecting socket and the plug was protected against moisture.
Before putting the pump into operation, check that the electric cable or socket are not damaged.
Before executing any work on the pump, the pump needs to be disconnected from electrical network.
If the pump needs to be installed in a gulley, the gulley needs to be subsequently closed with a cover to ensure safety of pedestrians.
Do not in any case install the pump in wet pits (risk of short-circuit, damage by corrosion)!
To prevent occurrence of damage that can be caused as a result of any faulty function of the pump (e.g. flooded rooms, etc.), the owner (user) is obliged to take reasonable safety measures (alarm installing, spare pump, etc.).
If the pump is faulty the repair can only be executed by an authorised service only. Using original spare parts is allowed only.
Let us refer to the fact that according to valid standards we do not assume any responsibility for damages caused by our appliances as a result of the below-mentioned causes.
Any unsuitable repairs executed by unauthorised services. Using the appliance in conflict with its purpose or failure to observe the prescribed use.
Pump overloading with continuous run.
Fuse against thermal overloading
Inside the electric motor, there is a probe automatically switching the pump off when a specific temperature is exceeded and on again after cooling down. That many times increases the pump life and prevents thermal damage of the electric motor.
Protection against overloading/thermal motor control switch
The cooling down time is app. 25 minutes, then the pump is automatically switched on again. Prevent therefore dangerous situations caused as a result of automatic start of the pump. When the motor control switch goes off or on, it is necessary to identify the cause and remove it (see also the "Failure diagnostics"). Do not regard the information mentioned there as instructions for "home-made" repairs as professional knowledge is necessary for repairs. Always contact the customer service at any failure.
It is necessary to ensure corresponding air supply to prevent pump overheating!
Do not install in tight or wet pits and do not cover!
Pressure sensor
The electronic pressure sensor with integrated protection against dry run will automatically switch the pump off when you close the appliance and switches on when you open it.
Stopping at dry run: Stopping at dry run is notified through the red FAILURE indicator when the engine is off. To restore the equipment to original state it is enough to press the RESET button after you make sure water flows in the pump suction.
Handling
Safety instructions for handling
Use the appliance only after you have properly read the Operating Instructions. Follow all safety instructions specified in the Operating Instructions. Behave responsibly to other persons.
- Use suction sets with a clack-valve only.
- Carefully fill the suction hose with water.
- Attention: Do not fill via the switch => screw the switch only after filling!
- Attention: Small appliances can cause failures => increase water inlet.
Deaeration
To deflate any air from the conduct, loosen the bleed screw (pic. A; pos. 2)
Water discharge
Loosen the drain screw to fully discharge the pump (pic. A; pos. 4)
Detailed instructions
- Connect the suction tube with a clack-valve (foot valve) corresponding to the suction connector. Always tighten all threaded connectors with a weather strip.
- If you want to fill the pump unscrew the bleed screw at the back part of the pump and on water delivery main connector (pic. A; pos. 2 and 1). Fill the appliance until water flows out through the air hole. (D)
- Tighten the bleed screw and screw it up again. Then tighten the water delivery main in the place of the connector and close it tightly.
- Plug the pump.

Attention: At assembly of the suction piping and water delivery main on appropriate connectors, always properly screw appropriate threads to prevent damages as a result of any deterioration of the pump housing!

Attention: Careful sealing of threaded connections and filling of the suction system without access of air (B and D) - (suction hose and pump housing) will ensure successful working of the pump! Check the foot valve tightness (C) – fill the system according to given instructions (B) and pull the suction hose out of the medium before starting to check it – the liquid can only flow out of the suction hose!
Important: If the pump is to be out of order for a longer time it is necessary to empty the tube and housing of the pump. Protect the pump against frost. The pump can only be stored when absolutely emptied.
