USER MANUAL Sani System Gun POLTI

CURVED FLOW CONCENTRATOR

POLTI HPMED DETERGENT

The products of the POLTI SANI SYSTEM line generate superheated dry sat- urated steam in combination with Polti HPMED detergent in order to reduce the bacterial, fungal and viral load of the surfaces to which it is applied. This reduces the possibility of cross-infection. These products can be used in all environments where it is important to reduce microbial contamination of surfaces (hospitals, nursing homes, doctors’ surgeries, public environments, public transport, food businesses, pharmaceutical businesses, etc.).

CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT

This appliance is intended for home and simi- lar professional use, according to the descrip- tions and instructions given in this manual. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them. If this manual is lost, it can be consulted and/or downloaded from the web- site www.polti.co.uk. POLTI S.p.A. reserves the right to make the aesthetic, technical and construction changes it deems necessary, without prior notice. Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. This is the reason why your Polti Sani System may contain some residual water in the boiler. Correct use of the product is only as detailed in this instruction manual. Any other use may damage the appli- ance and invalidate the warranty. Polti S.p.A. declines all responsibility for acci- dents resulting from the use of this appliance in a manner that does not comply with these instructions for use. The Polti Sani System Gun is to be connected exclusively to Polti Vaporetto and Polti Lecoaspira appliances for steam disinfection of surfaces and fabrics. Thanks to its patented Superheated Chamber technology, the high temperature saturated dry steam generated in the high pressure boiler is fur- ther superheated up to 180 ° to ensure effec- tive disinfection and rapid drying of surfaces, without leaving traces of residual moisture. It reduces the bacterial, fungal and viral load of the surfaces to which it is applied. This re- duces the possibility of cross-infection. Laboratory and field tests have shown how treatment with the superheated (up to 180°C) dry saturated steam jet of Polti Sani System mixed with Polti HPMed detergent can elimi- nate up to 99.999% of viruses, germs, bacte- ria , funghi and spores and is also an effective solution against bed bugs. A deep disinfec- tion, therefore the maximum level of abate- ment, is obtained by delivering steam keep- ing the distance of 10 cm given by the spacer for 30 seconds continuously, remaining fo- cussed on the potentially contaminated area. The steam can treat an area with a diameter of about 10cm. We recommend this deep dis- infection for door handles, counters and for all those objects and surfaces most exposed to the frequent and continuous passage of people. After performing the deep disinfection, you can carry out subsequent disinfection mainte- nance operations by moving the dispenser over the surface to be treated by simulating brushstrokes from right to left (and vice versa), or from top to bottom (and vice versa) for about 30 seconds per square me- ter, which corresponds to 30 linear cm per second. Wait for the spontaneous evaporation of the residual condensation for 30 to 60 seconds without manually drying the surfaces, so as to avoid possible risks of cross-infection.

INFORMATION FOR USERS

Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU, regarding electric and electronic appliances, this appliance must not be disposed of with domestic waste, but sent to an official collec- tion facility. This appliance complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EU. The crossed-out bin symbol on the appliance indicates that, at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life, the user must hand over the appliance to an appropriate collection centre for electric and electronic waste or, according to the legislation in force in the country, leave the used appliance with the distributor when buying a new product to replace it. Proper separate waste collection to facilitate the subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the appliance helps to prevent negative effects on the environment and human health, and promotes recycling of the materials the product is made of. Unlawful disposal by the owner involves the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation. POLTI HPMED Thanks to its characteristics, Polti HPMed de- tergent is the ideal adjuvant to the action of the superheated dry saturated steam sup- plied by Polti Sani System. Polti HPMed is a hydroalcoholic solution that removes bad odours and can be used in the presence of people. ENGLISH

PORTUGUÊS1. PREPARING FOR USE

1.1 Connect the Polti Sani System Gun's

monoblock to your steam generator, as de- scribed in the generator's user manual.

1.2 Unscrew the cap of the Polti HPMed deter-

1.3 Insert the stopper into the bottle (2) until it

rests on the base of the bottle, ensuring that it stays as straight as possible (3).

1.4 Screw the bottle into the dispensing gun

fitting taking care to ensure that the stopper enters the hole inside the fitting perfectly, without bending (4). As soon as the level of Polti HPMed contained in the disposable bottle drops below the low level indicated on the label, replace with a new bottle. Once the disposable bottle has been opened and fitted onto the dispenser, it is to be used within 7 days before replacing with a new one.

2. INSTRUCTION FOR USE

2.1 Switch on your steam generator as de-

scribed in the user's manual.

2.2 Connect the Polti Sani System Gun and

wait until the heating light goes out.

2.3 The steam gun has a safety button that pre-

vents accidental activation of the steam supply by children or people who don’t know how it works. Should the appliance be left momen- tarily unguarded, move the safety switch to the off position (5). To continue steam deliv- ery, move the switch back to its original posi- tion (6).

2.4 Direct the steam downwards for 2 sec-

onds in order to bring all the components of the appliance to their correct temperature, in order to avoid condensation.

2.5 Position the gun perpendicular to the sur-

face to be treated and keep it at the distance provided by the spacer bracket / holder to avoid direct contact for delicate material (7).

2.6 Deliver the steam using “brushing” move-

ments to cover the surface to be treated. This way, the flow of superheated dry satu- rated steam will cover the whole surface.

Before treating delicate or unusual surfaces with the Polti Sani System Gun , consult the manufacturer’s instructions and always carry out a test on a hidden part or on a sample of the material. Allow the steamed part to dry to make sure that no changes in colour or deformations have occurred. Make sure that the surface to be treated is clean before disinfecting it. In the event of visible dirt, clean the surface before sanitis- ingit. Direct the steam downwards for 2 seconds in order to bring all the components of the ma- chine to their correct temperature, in order to avoid condensation. Bring the gun perpendic- ular to the surface to be treated and keep it at a distance of 10 cm, as provided by the spacer, avoiding direct contact with the sur- face. Deliver the steam continuously, using “brushing” movements to cover the surface to be sanitised. Repeated treatments will lead to more effi- cient disinfecting of the treated surfaces. Polti Sani System Gun delivers superheated saturated dry steam that, added to Polti HPMed, dries without leaving residues within 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on the en- vironmental conditions. To treat piping, drains, etc., connect the gun to the adaptor to obtain a concentrated jet of steam. Before starting to use the device, make sure that the material to be treated can withstand the high temperature.

WARNING: After turning on for the first time,

direct the first jet of steam onto a cloth or downwards for approximately 30 seconds without attaching the disposable bottle. This will allow the working temperature and the optimum pressure to be reached.

WARNING: Do not screw the bottle to the

gun without the stopper. If no consumption of Polti HPMed is seen during use of the product, this means that the stopper has not been inserted correctly, or has folded within the bottle. Unscrew the bottle and repeat the insertion procedure, taking care to posi- tion it correctly.

WARNING: For additional safety, test steam

delivery on a hidden part, leave the steamed part to dry to ensure that no changes in colour or deformations have occurred.

ENGLISH24 Refer to the Steam Disinfection Protocol in- cluded in the box for instructions on how to treat different surfaces.

4. CONNECTION OF ACCESSORIES

The following accessories can be connected to the dispenser: Straight flow concentrator, for a concentrat- ed jet. Curved flow concentrator to reach difficult places. Just bring the accessory chosen into line with the delivery device nozzle and rotate the ac- cessory until it locks into place (8). Use the concentrator to treat drains; do not use it on surfaces.

5. STORING THE DEVICE

When you have finished using the device, put it away in a clean and dry place after discon- necting it from the power mains. Keep it away from sources of heat and protect from the weather. Do not expose the device to ex- treme temperatures.

6. GENERAL MAINTENANCE

To clean the outside of the appliance, only use a damp cloth and tap water. All acces- sories can be cleaned using running water, ensuring they are completely dry before the next use. Clean the steam gun after every 10 uses or if visibly dirty. Clean the dispensing nozzle us- ing the brush included, sliding it inside the gun so as to remove any limescale residue in it (9). Do not use detergents of any type.

WARNING: When using the concentrator

accessory, it is necessary to detach the Polti HPMed disposable bottle and connect the empty bottle supplied because there could be a small loss of condensate from the dis- penser where the bottle attaches.

WARNING: Perform these operations when

the appliance is turned off, cold and discon- nected from the mains or disconnected from Polti Vaporetto and Polti Lecoaspira. ENGLISH7. TROUBLESHOOTING
