Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 341154 AURIOL

How to install batteries in the Auriol IAN 341154 weather station?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the device. Insert 2 AAA 1.5 V batteries following the indicated polarities (+/-). Close the cover. The screen lights up briefly, then the device switches to normal mode.
How to set the humidity alarm thresholds?
In normal mode, press and hold the SET button. The upper limit (maximum humidity) flashes. Use the °C/°F or MAX/MIN buttons to adjust in 5% steps. Press SET to confirm. The lower limit (minimum) then flashes: adjust in the same way and confirm with SET.
What does the dew point indicator mean and how to display it?
The dew point is the temperature at which water vapor in the air begins to condense. It helps assess the risk of mold. To display it, press the SET button in normal mode. The screen shows the dew point temperature. Pressing SET again returns to normal display.
How to activate or deactivate the humidity alarm?
Press the ALERT ON/OFF button to activate the alarm. When humidity exceeds or falls below the set thresholds, the ALERT symbol flashes and a red LED lights up. Press any button to turn off the LED; the symbol flashes until humidity returns to normal. Press ON/OFF again to completely deactivate the alarm.
How to read the comfort index?
The comfort index is displayed automatically based on ambient temperature and humidity. The levels are: TOOWET (too humid, ≥85 %), WET (humid, 66-84 %), COMFORT (comfortable, 45-65 %) and DRY (dry, 30-44 %). It is active when the temperature is between 20 °C and 25 °C.
How to display the recorded minimum and maximum temperatures?
Press the MAX/MIN button briefly in normal mode. The MAX icon appears with the maximum temperature and humidity values. Press again to see the minimum values (MIN icon). After 10 seconds of inactivity, the display returns to normal mode.
How to clear the recorded MIN/MAX values?
Press the MAX/MIN button once to display the minimum values (MIN icon). Then hold the button until the values clear. Release the button; after about 10 seconds, the screen returns to normal mode.
What to do if the low battery icon is displayed?
The low battery icon indicates that the batteries need to be replaced soon. Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert two new AAA 1.5 V batteries, respecting the polarities.
How to clean the weather station?
Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth (such as an eyeglass cloth). Never immerse the device in water and do not use harsh cleaning products, metal brushes, or sharp objects.
Where to find the article number for a warranty claim?
The article number (341154_1910) is on an identification plate, engraved on the device, at the bottom left of the manual, or on a label on the back or bottom of the device. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

Note on dew point temperature

The dew point temperature is a measure for the ratio of moisture in the air. It describes the amount of water vapour in the air and is calculated from the relation between the relative humidity and the air temperature. If the air temperature is the same as the dew point temperature, the relative humidity is 100% . Warmer air can hold more moisture. Mugginess, for example, is experienced when the dew point temperature is over approximately 16^ . The dew point temperature is lowered near cold outer walls and the moisture from the air may condensate on the walls, which, over a longer time period, may lead to mould.
