USER MANUAL Aquaria S1 10 P OLIMPIA SPLENDID

1. The appliance contains R290 gas (A3 ammability classication)

2. The appliance shall be stored in a well-ventilated area where the room size corresponds to the room area as

specied for operation. The appliance must be installed, used and stored in a room with a oor surface in com- pliance with the minimum sizes indicated in the chart at page 6. This appliance contains a quantity of refrigerant gas R290 equal to the one indicated in the data label located on the appliance.

3. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and person with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. (be applicable for the European Countries).

4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including childern) with reduced physical, sensory or mental

other liquids onto the unit, since they could damage the plastic components or even cause electric shocks.

0.5 - UNINTENDED AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS USE

  • Thedehumidiersmustnotbeinstalledinenvironmentswiththepresenceofinam- mable gases, explosive gases, in very humid environments (laundries, greenhouses, etc.), or in places with other machines that generate a strong heat source, in proximity of a sources of salt water or sulphurous water.

3. THE APPLIANCE MUST BE INSTALLED, USED AND STORED IN A ROOM WITH A FLOOR SUR-

20. STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT/APPLIANCES

The storage of equipment should be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

21. STORAGE OF PACKED (UNSOLD) EQUIPMENT

Storage package protection should be constructed such that mechanical damage to the equipment inside the package will not cause a leak of the refrigerant charge. The maximum number of pieces of equipment permitted to be stored together will be determined by local regulations.

22. INFORMATION ON SERVICING

a) Checks to the area Prior to beginning work on systems containing ammable refrigerants, safety checks are nec- essary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimised. For repair to the refrigerating system, the following precautions shall be complied with prior to conducting work on the system.AQUARIA S1 10/12/14/16 P EN - 7 ENGLISH b) Work procedure Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure so as to minimise the risk of a ammable gas or vapour being present while the work is being performed. c) General work area All maintenance sta󰀨 and others working in the local area shall be instructed on the nature of work being carried out. Work in conned spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace shall be sectioned o󰀨. Ensure that the conditions within the area have been made safe by control of ammable material. d) Checking for presence of refrigerant The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work, to ensure the technician is aware of potentially ammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with ammable refriger- ants, i.e. non-sparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe. e) Presence of re extinguisher If any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appro- priate re extinguishing equipment shall be available at hand. Have a dry powder or CO2 re extinguisher adjacent to the charging area. f) No ignition sources No person carrying out work in relation to a refrigeration system which involves exposing any pipe work that contains or has contained ammable refrigerant shall use any sources of ignition in such a manner that it may lead to the risk of re or explosion. All possible ignition sources, including cigarette smoking, should be kept su󰀩ciently far away from the site of installation, repairing, removing and disposal, during which ammable refrigerant can possibly be released to the surrounding space. Prior to work taking place, the area around the equipment is to be surveyed to make sure that there are no ammable hazards or ignition risks. No Smoking signs shall be displayed. g) Ventilated area Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into the sys- tem or conducting any hot work. A degree of ventilation shall continue during the period that the work is carried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the atmosphere. h) Checks to the refrigeration equipment Where electrical components are being changed, they shall be t for the purpose and to the cor- rect specication. At all times the manufacturer’s maintenance and service guidelines shall be followed. If in doubt consult the manufacturer’s technical department for assistance. The following checks shall be applied to installations using ammable refrigerants: The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant containing parts are installed; The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstruct- ed; If an indirect refrigerating circuit is being used, the secondary circuit shall be checked for the presence of refrigerant; Marking to the equipment continues to be visible and legible. Markings and signs that are illegible shall be corrected; Refrigeration pipe or components are installed in a position where they are unlikely to be exposed to any substance which may corrode refrigerant containing components, unless the components are constructed of materials which are inherently resistant to being corroded or are suitably protected against being so corroded.

i) Checks to electrical devices

Repair and maintenance to electrical components shall include initial safety checks and compo- nent inspection procedures. If a fault exists that could compromise safety, then no electrical supply shall be connected to the circuit until it is satisfactorily dealt with. If the fault cannot be corrected immediately but it is necessary to continue operation, an adequate temporary solution shall be used. This shall be reported to the owner of the equipment so all parties are advised. Initial safety checks shall include: That capacitors are discharged: this shall be done in a safe manner to avoid possibility of sparking; That there no live electrical components and wiring are exposed while charging, recovering or purging the system; That there is continuity of earth bonding.EN - 8 ENGLISH

23. REPAIRS TO SEALED COMPONENTS

a) During repairs to sealed components, all electrical supplies shall be disconnected from the equip- ment being worked upon prior to any removal of sealed covers, etc. If it is absolutely necessary to have an electrical supply to equipment during servicing, then a permanently operating form of leak detection shall be located at the most critical point to warn of a potentially hazardous situation. b) Particular attention shall be paid to the following to ensure that by working on electrical compo- nents, the casing is not altered in such a way that the level of protection is a󰀨ected. This shall include damage to cables, excessive number of connections, terminals not made to original specication, damage to seals, incorrect tting of glands, etc. Ensure that apparatus is mounted securely. Ensure that seals or sealing materials have not degraded such that they no longer serve the pur- pose of preventing the ingress of ammable atmospheres. Replacement parts shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s specications. The use of silicon sealant may inhibit the e󰀨ectiveness of some types of leak detection equipment. Intrinsically safe components do not have to be isolated prior to working on them.

24. REPAIR TO INTRINSICALLY SAFE COMPONENTS

Do not apply any permanent inductive or capacitance loads to the circuit without ensuring that this will not exceed the permissible voltage and current permitted for the equipment in use. Intrinsically safe components are the only types that can be worked on while live in the presence of a ammable atmosphere. The test apparatus shall be at the correct rating. Replace components only with parts specied by the manufacturer. Other parts may result in the ignition of refrigerant in the atmosphere from a leak.

Check that cabling will not be subject to wear, corrosion, excessive pressure, vibration, sharp edges or any other adverse environmental e󰀨ects. The check shall also take into account the e󰀨ects of aging or continual vibration from sources such as compressors or fans.

26. DETECTION OF FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS

Under no circumstances shall potential sources of ignition be used in the searching for or detection of refrigerant leaks. A halide torch (or any other detector using a naked ame) shall not be used.

27. LEAK DETECTION METHODS

The following leak detection methods are deemed acceptable for systems containing ammable re- frigerants. Electronic leak detectors shall be used to detect ammable refrigerants, but the sensitiv- ity may not be adequate, or may need re-calibration. (Detection equipment shall be calibrated in a refrigerant-free area). Ensure that the detector is not a potential source of ignition and is suitable for the refrigerant used. Leak detection equipment shall be set at a percentage of the LFL of the refriger- ant and shall be calibrated to the refrigerant employed and the appropriate percentage of gas (25 % maximum) is conrmed. Leak detection uids are suitable for use with most refrigerants but the use of detergents containing chlorine shall be avoided as the chlorine may react with the refrigerant and corrode the copper pipe-work. If a leak is suspected, all naked ames shall be removed/ extinguished. If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be recovered from the system, or isolated (by means of shut o󰀨 valves) in a part of the system remote from the leak. Oxygen free nitrogen (OFN) shall then be purged through the system both before and during the braz- ing process.

28. REMOVAL AND EVACUATION

When breaking into the refrigerant circuit to make repairs or for any other purpose conventional pro- cedures shall be used. However, it is important that best practice is followed since ammability is a consideration. The following procedure shall be adhered to:

  • Purge the circuit with inert gas;
  • Purge again with inert gas;
  • Open the circuit by cutting or brazing. The refrigerant charge shall be recovered into the correct recovery cylinders. The system shall beAQUARIA S1 10/12/14/16 P EN - 9 ENGLISH ushed with OFN to render the unit safe. This process may need to be repeated several times. Compressed air or oxygen shall not be used for this task. Flushing shall be achieved by breaking the vacuum in the system with OFN and continuing to ll until the working pressure is achieved, then venting to atmosphere, and nally pulling down to a vacuum. This process shall be repeated until no refrigerant is within the system. When the nal OFN charge is used, the system shall be vented down to atmospheric pressure to enable work to take place. This operation is absolutely vital if brazing operations on the pipe-work are to take place. Ensure that the outlet for the vacuum pump is not close to any ignition sources and there is ventilation available.

29. CHARGING PROCEDURES

In addition to conventional charging procedures, the following requirements shall be followed. Ensure that contamination of di󰀨erent refrigerants does not occur when using charging equipment. Hoses or lines shall be as short as possible to minimise the amount of refrigerant contained in them. Cylinders shall be kept upright. Ensure that the refrigeration system is earthed prior to charging the system with refrigerant. Label the system when charging is complete (if not already). Extreme care shall be taken not to overll the refrigeration system. Prior to recharging the system it shall be pressure tested with OFN. The system shall be leak tested on completion of charging but prior to commissioning. A follow up leak test shall be carried out prior to leaving the site.

Before carrying out this procedure, it is essential that the technician is completely familiar with the equipment and all its detail. It is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are recovered safely. Prior to the task being carried out, an oil and refrigerant sample shall be taken in case analysis is required prior to re-use of reclaimed refrigerant. It is essential that electrical power is available before the task is commenced. a) Become familiar with the equipment and its operation. b) Isolate system electrically. c) Before attempting the procedure ensure that:

  • Mechanical handling equipment is available, if required, for handling refrigerant cylinders;
  • All personal protective equipment is available and being used correctly;
  • The recovery process is supervised at all times by a competent person;
  • Recovery equipment and cylinders conform to the appropriate standards. d) Pump down refrigerant system, if possible. e) If a vacuum is not possible, make a manifold so that refrigerant can be removed from various parts of the system. f) Make sure that cylinder is situated on the scales before recovery takes place. g) Start the recovery machine and operate in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. h) Do not overll cylinders. (No more than 80 % volume liquid charge).

i) Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder, even temporarily.

j) When the cylinders have been lled correctly and the process completed, make sure that the cylinders and the equipment are removed from site promptly and all isolation valves on the equip- ment are closed o󰀨. k) Recovered refrigerant shall not be charged into another refrigeration system unless it has been cleaned and checked.

Equipment shall be labelled stating that it has been de-commissioned and emptied of refrigerant. The label shall be dated and signed. Ensure that there are labels on the equipment stating the equipment contains ammable refrigerant.

When removing refrigerant from a system, either for servicing or decommissioning, it is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are removed safely. When transferring refrigerant into cylinders, ensure that only appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders are employed. Ensure that the correct number of cylinders for holding the total system charge is available. All cylinders to be used are designated for the recovered refrigerant and labelled for that refrigerant (i.e. special cylinders for the recovery of refrigerant). Cylinders shall be complete with pressure reliefEN - 10ENGLISH valve and associated shut-o󰀨 valves in good working order. Empty recovery cylinders are evacuated and, if possible, cooled before recovery occurs. The recovery equipment shall be in good working order with a set of instructions concerning the equipment that is at hand and shall be suitable for the recovery of ammable refrigerants. In addition, a set of calibrated weighing scales shall be available and in good working order. Hoses shall be complete with leak-free disconnect couplings and in good condition. Before using the recovery machine, check that it is in satisfactory working order, has been properly maintained and that any associated electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition in the event of a refrigerant release. Consult manufacturer if in doubt. The recovered refrigerant shall be returned to the refrigerant supplier in the correct recovery cylinder, and the relevant Waste Transfer Note arranged. Do not mix refrigerants in recovery units and especially not in cylinders. If compressors or compressor oils are to be removed, ensure that they have been evacuated to an acceptable level to make certain that ammable refrigerant does not remain within the lubricant. The evacuation process shall be carried out prior to returning the compressor to the suppliers. Only electric heating to the compressor body shall be employed to accelerate this process. When oil is drained from a system, it shall be carried out safely.

The appliance is packaged singularly in a cardboard packaging. Store the packaging in vertical position. The dehumidier powerfully removes moisture from the air to decrease the humidity level of the room and keep the indoor air dry and comfortable. 2.1 - APPLIANCE TRANSPORT

  • Transport and handling of the appliance must be carried out in vertical position.
  • If it is transported in a horizontal position, wait at least one hour before starting it.
  • Before moving or transporting the appliance, completely drain condensation by working as described in paragraph 3.4.a CAUTION Transportingtheapplianceondelicateoors(forinstance:woodenoors):
  • Completely drain condensation.
  • Pay particular attention while moving the appliance since the wheels may mark the oor.Althoughthewheelsaremadefromarigidmaterialandareswivelling,they could get damaged by use or excessive dirt. A failure to respect what follows may cause damages to the appliance. a. Install the appliance on at, stable and on oor level surfaces. b. Only connect the appliance to outlets equipped with a ground system. c. Make sure that curtains or other objects do not obstruct the air suction lters (Fig.5). d. Make sure to keep a minimum distance of 20/30 cm between the appliance and the adjacent objects (Fig.1). e. The appliance must always be activated paying attention that there are no obstacles for air suction and output. f. The appliance must not be used in laundry rooms. g. Only install the appliance in dry rooms. h. The appliance must not be started in the presence of dangerous materials, vapours or liquids.

i. Clean the air lters at least once a week.

2.3 - INSTALLATION OF THE APPLIANCE

  • After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is in perfect condition; in case of doubts do not use it and refer to professionally qualied personnel.
  • Install the appliance on a rigid and levelled oor while keeping the room ventilated.
  • Place the appliance in a suitable environment. Make sure that curtains or other objects don-t obstruct the air ow (Fig. 5).
  • Leave at least 20cm of free space on both sides and behind the appliance and leave at least 30cm of free space above it (Fig. 1).
  • Remove the tank (7) and uncoil the supply cord (9).
  • Correctly reposition the tank (7) in the appliance body.
  • Insert the plug in the power socket; the appliance emits a “beep” and the display shows the percentage of hu- midity in the room.

2.4 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

The appliance is tted with a power cable with plug. Before connecting the appliance, make sure that:

  • The voltage and power frequency values match those specied on the appliance plate data.
  • The power supply line is equipped with an e󰀩cient ground connection and that it is correctly dimensioned for the maximum absorption of the appliance.
  • The appliance’s power network must be equipped with a suitable omnipolar disconnection device compliant with national installation regulations.

3 - USE OF THE APPLIANCE

Work as follows in order to use the appliance. Before starting the appliance, kindly open the air outlet. DONOTinsertanything(ngers,hands,objects,etc.)intheairoutletinordertoavoid damaging the appliance. Cuts or wounds hazard !

3.2.a - Preliminary operations

  • Place the appliance on a stable and not inclined base, at at least 20/30 cm. from the wallorfromanyotherobject,inordertoensurethecorrectaircirculation.(Fig.1). Place it on a water-resistant surface since the possible water leakage could damage furnitureortheoor.
  • Do not place the appliance directly on carpets, towels, blankets or other absorbent surfaces.
  • Insert the plug in the power socket.

Before electrically connecting the appliance, make sure the plate data correspond to those of the electricity distribution network.

Press the ON/OFF key (D6) and the appliance switches on, the display shows the percentage of humidity detected.To switch o󰀨 the appliance, press the key ON/OFF (D6) again.AQUARIA S1 10/12/14/16 P EN - 13 ENGLISH

Press the “Speed” key (D1) to be able to select the fan speed: High. --

Once fan speed is selected, the respective Led (L1) remains on. If “LAUNDRY” mode is active, fan speed cannot be changed.

3.2.d - Timer function

Press the “Timer” (D2) key to set the delay time for “ON” (start) or “OFF” (switch o󰀨) modes. In “ON” mode, press the “Timer” (D2); key once or more; the display shows the delay time for the appli- ance switch o󰀨 in hours (0 -> 1 -> 2 -> .... -> 23 -> 24 -> 0 -> 1 -> ....). Once the desired value has been selected, wait a few seconds to allow the memorization of the set value after which the appliance switches o󰀨 (OFF); the (L2) led switches on in green. In “OFF” mode, press the “Timer” (D2); key once or more; the display shows the delay time for the ap- pliance start in hours (0 -> 1 -> 2 -> .... -> 23 -> 24 -> 0 -> 1 -> ....). Once the desired value has been selected, wait a few seconds to allow the memorization of the set value after which the appliance starts (ON); the (L2) led switches on in green. To cancel the Timer function programming, press the “Timer” (D2)key once or more until selecting “0” or press the “ON/OFF” (D6) key.

3.2.e - Activation of the display

Press the “Setting level of humidity” (D4) and “Led” (D3) keys simultaneously, the detected room temperature appears on the display. Press the “Led” key (D3), the display and the active Led switch o󰀨, the machine continues to work.

3.2.f - Humidity level setting

Press the “Setting level of humidity” key (D4) to select the desired level of humidity in the room: “CO” (Continuous cycle) ---> 30% ---> 35% ---> ... ---> 85% ---> 90% ---> “CO” (Continuous cycle) ---> .. The settable value must be included between 30% and 90 % with 5% intervals. After a certain period of operation, when the percentage of humidity in the room is lower than the set value, the compressor stops temporarily. Periodically, when the appliance is working (ON mode), dehumidication can be temporarily interrupted in order to defrost the heat exchanger. Uponswitchingon,theappliancestartsin“Dehumidication”mode.

Press the “Laundry” key (D5), the appliance starts in “CO” (continuous cycle) mode. The compressor and the fan continue to work independently from the detected level of humidity. In this mode the fan will work at maximum speed.EN - 14ENGLISH

3.3.b-Dehumidicationmode

Press the “Dehumidication” key (D5), the appliance starts with the percentage of humidity set during the last use, press the “Setting level of humidity” key (D4) to change it.

  • When the led “Water tank full” (L4) switches on, the appliance stops, the buzzer rings and it is nec- essary to empty the tank (7).• Remove the tank (7) from the appliance body working with both hands (Fig.7).• Empty the tank (7) (Fig.8).

Donotremovetheoat(7b)fromthewatertank(7).Thefullwatersensorwon’t be able to correctly detect water level anymore.

  • Correctly reposition the tank (7) in the appliance body, otherwise the led (L4) remains turned on and the appliance doesn’t work.

3.4.b - Continuous water unloading

  • If desired, it is possible to connect the supplied hose (14) to the connection (13) to continuously drain water collected by dehumidication.• Switcho󰀨theapplianceanddisconnecttheplugfromthepowersocket.• Connect the rubber hose (14) with an internal diameter of 10mm to the connection (13) (Fig. 9).• It is advised to x the hose (14) to the connection (13) using a clamp (not supplied).• Correctly reposition the tank (7) in the appliance body making the hose (14) pass in specic seat located in the tank (7). If this operation is not completed, the led (L4) remains on and the appliance doesn’t work. Makesuretherubberhose(14)doesn’texceedtheexhaustjointheight,otherwisewa- ter will remain in the appliance and could cause a malfunction, damage it and/or cause dangerous work conditions.

During operation with continuous unloading, do not remove the water tank.

Possible problems caused by the external water drain are not detected by the full tank alarm.Anecientsupervisionisnecessaryinordertopreventmalfunctions,damages to the appliance and/or dangerous work conditions.

In case of blackout, the appliance restarts to work in the previously selected conditions when power is restored.

Before performing any cleaning or maintenance intervention on the appliance, disconnect the plug from the power socket and wait for the fan to stop completely.AQUARIA S1 10/12/14/16 P

  • Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance.
  • If the appliance is very dirty, it is possible to use a cloth dampened with warm water (max 50°C) and a mild detergent to clean its external parts. Dry with a dry cloth.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the air inlet/outlet grids.

Make sure the appliance is completely dry before reconnecting the plug to the power socket.

Do not use a chemically treated or antistatic cloth to clean the appliance. Do not use petrol, solvents, polishing pastes or similar. These products could break or deform the plastic surface.

Do not use oils, chemical substances or abrasive products to clean the appliance.

Neither wash nor immerse the appliance with/in water.

In case of an appliance malfunction, do not try to disassemble it but instead refer to the retailer or to the technical assistance service.

4.2 - ACTIVE CARBONS FILTER CLEANING

It is advised to clean the lter every two weeks of operation.

  • Clean the lter (10) using a vacuum cleaner or a soft-bristled brush to remove dust (gure 11).
  • Correctly reposition the lter (10) in its specic seat.
  • If the drainage tank is dirty, wash it with cold or lukewarm water.
  • Switchtheapplianceo󰀨anddisconnecttheplugfromthepowersocket.
  • Remove the tank (7).
  • Work as described in paragraph “3.4.a”.

Do not use detergent, scouring pads, chemically treated dust cloths, gasoline, benzene, thinner or other solvents, as these can scratch and damage the tank and cause water leakage.EN - 16 ENGLISH

5 - PRESERVATION OF THE APPLIANCE

If you do not intend to use the appliance for a particularly long period of time or if operations which could produce a lot of dust must be performed, it is advised to store the appliance as follows:

  • Switchtheapplianceo󰀨anddisconnecttheplugfromthepowersocket.
  • Empty any water remaining in the tank.
  • Wrap the supply cord and position it in the water tank (after making sure that the tank is completely dry).
  • Store in a fresh and dry place away from humidity.

Before contacting professional service, consult this list. This list includes common occurrences that are not the result of a defect in workmanship or materials. Low temperature operation with Auto Defrost function The appliance is equipped with an automatic defrost function (indicated by the specic led “L4” switching on) which, thanks to opportunely timed intervals and by checking room temperature, adjust the machine operation.
