CLEANING THE APPLIANCE DAILY (or after last use) Risk of damage! Clean only with a damp cloth and if necessary a mild detergent (do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning agents). Do not put appli- ance parts in the dishwasher. Health hazard! If the appliance is not used for a long period without being rinsed and cleaned beforehand, deposits may form which are difcult to remove. Risk of scalding! Empty the drip trays and cap- sule collection container carefully. For hygienic reasons and for optimal beverage quality, we recommend rinsing the appliance before and after preparing each beverage Clean all parts and put back into the appliance. This is advisable for hygiene reasons and prevents damage to the appliance:

  • In case of longer absence (e.g. holiday) germs can form in the residual water.
  • Residual water can freeze in the appliance when the appliance is transported or stored at a tem- perature below the freezing point. CAUTION Extreme temperatures can damage the appliance (permissible operating tempera- ture 10 – 45° C). Therefore
  • protect the appliance against frost,
  • First warm up the appliance to room temperature if necessary.

Open and close the lever to eject an existing capsule.

  • Remove and empty the water tank.
  • Place a receptacle under the outlet.
  • Make sure that the appliance is turned off. WARNING Risk of scalding! Hot steam (up to 120° C) and hot water are produced during evap- oration. Do not reach under the outlet and keep a safe distance from the outlet. Handle the hot recep- tacle under the outlet with care.
  • Press and hold the buttons “black tea” and “herbal/ fruit tea” together. Now press the on/off button. Then release all buttons again. The evaporation begins and the button “green tea” starts to ash.
  • After evaporation, the appliance switches off automatically.
  • Remove and empty receptacle.
  • Empty and dry drip trays and capsule collection container.
  • Replace empty water tank.
  • Wipe the front of the body dry with a cloth. sTeaming The appliance FreQuenTly asKeD QuesTiOns The appliance only works with capsules that are marked with the K-fee

system logo. The beverage dispensing is delayed? The appliance is adjusting the temperature for the desired beverage. The capsule collection container is overfull and jammed? Try to remove the capsule collection container by shaking gently. The drink is not hot enough? Warm the cup rst. If necessary, descale the appliance - see “Descaling the appliance”. Switch the appliance off after descaling to end the temperature reduction. The hot water button ashes red and fast? Switch off the appliance and unplug. If the problem continues, please contact customer service. The drink is not delivered properly? Press the lever all the way down. If necessary, descale the appliance - see “Descaling the appliance”. Do I need to descale the appliance if I use a water lter? Even when using a water lter, depending on the location and the water quality, mineral deposits may still occur. Therefore, we recommend carrying out an annual cleaning rinse with the K-fee system

descaler. The appliance suddenly turns off during intensive use? In case of insufcient cooling time, the appliance turns off automatically to protect against overheating. In this case, the rinsing and milk buttons ash slowly for about 60 s. After this, operation is possible again. The appliance turns itself off? The appliance turns off automatically if it is not used within ve minutes. Please note that the appliance consumes electricity as long as it is connected to the power supply (<0.5 W). Reset the appliance to factory settings? First switch off the appliance. Then press and hold the “green tea” button and the hot water button together. Now press the on/off button.
