around the appliance.

boil dry protection, which means the appliance shuts off automatically if the hea
ting element becomes too hot. Allow the appliance to cool about 15 minutes. Then fill the electric kettle with cold water. The boil dry pro
tection is deactivated and the appliance is ready for operation again.
32. Do not use the appliance
with accessories of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.
33. Unplug the appliance from
the power supply after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave the appliance unatten
ded when it is plugged in to the power supply.
34. Check the appliance, the plug
and the power cord regularly for wear or damage. In case of damage to the power cord or other parts, please send the appliance or the base for inspection and repair to our after sales service. Unautho
rized repairs can result in serious risks to the user and void the warranty.
35. If the supply cord is dama
ged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its ser
vice agent or a similarly qua- lified person in order to avoid a hazard. CAUTION: The appliance becomes very hot during operation! Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water can splash out. Never open the housing of the appliance. This can result in electric shock.16 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME
1. Remove all packaging materials
and any transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp
cloth, as described in the chapter “Cleaning and care”.

card the water from the first boi- ling. The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties. OPERATION
1. Remove the kettle from the base.
3. Fill the kettle with at least
0.5 liters of water. Do not fill the
kettle with more than 1.0 liters of water (“Max” marking).
4. Close the lid by pressing lightly.
5. Place the kettle level on the base.
6. Switch on the kettle by pressing
the ON/OFF switch downwards into the „I“-position. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on the base.
7. When the water boils, the appli-
ance automatically shuts off.
8. Whenever you take the kettle off
the base, the appliance is auto- matically switched off, even if the water is not yet boiling.
9. Of course you may also push the
switch into the „O“-position to interrupt heating.
10. If you want to boil more water, ple-
ase allow the appliance to cool off for a few minutes. Boiling water can cause scal- ding. Therefore, please handle the appliance with care when it contains hot water.
11. The appliance features boil dry
protection. When operated wit- hout water or with excessive sca- ling, the appliance shuts off auto- matically. If this happens, please allow the appliance to cool off briefly before filling it with water again or descale the appliance as described in the chapter “Desca- ling”.Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it. Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and unplug it from the power supply.
1. Do not immerse the base, power
cord or kettle in water or other liquids or wash them in the dish- washer.
2. Wipe off the base and the kettle
with a damp cloth and a little dishwashing detergent. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.
3. The appliance must be completely
dry on the outside before you use it again.
1. To keep the appliance operating
efficiently and to prolong its ser- vice life, it should be descaled regularly, depending on the hard- ness of your water.
2. The lime scale filter has to be
cleaned regularly. Please empty the kettle completely and allow it to cool off. Carefully remove the filter from the pour spout. Clean the filter carefully with a soft brush under running water. You can also place the filter in a bowl with a descaling solution. Then rinse the filter with clear water and insert it in the pour spout.
3. Use off-the-shelf descaling pro-
ducts for electronic kettles and comply with the manufacturer’s instructions. To descale, fill the kettle half full, maximum, other- wise the liquid can boil over and can cause severe injuries.
4. Heat the liquid (do not boil!) and
allow it to sit for some time in the electronic kettle.

If an appliance is defective and repair is not possible we ask you to follow the following instructions for disposal. Do not dispose this appliance together with your standard household waste. Please bring this product to an approved collection point for recycling of electric and electronic products. By separate collection and disposal of waste products you help to protect natural resources and ensure, that the product is disposed in an adequate way to protect health and environment. We grant a 24 months guarantee, and in case of commercial use a 12 months guarantee, starting from the date of purchase for any damage demonstrably due to manufacturing defects and when the appliance has been used according to its intended use. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the re- sponsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs only in Germany and Austria. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
