do not switch it on immediately. Moisture and condensation could damage the equipment. Do not switch on the equipment until it has reached room temperature.
26. Before connecting the equipment to the power outlet, rst verify that the mains voltage and frequency
match the values specied on the equipment. If the equipment has a voltage selection switch, connect the equipment to the power outlet only if the equipment values and the mains power values match. If the included power cord or power adapter does not t in your wall outlet, contact your electrician.
27. Do not step on the power cord. Make certain that the power cable does not become kinked, especially
at the mains outlet and/or power adapter and the equipment connector.

before extended periods of disuse. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). There are no user serviceable parts inside. Maintenance and repairs should be exclusively carried out by qualied service personnel. The warning triangle with lightning symbol indicates dangerous uninsulated voltage inside the unit, which may cause an electrical shock. The warning triangle with exclamation mark indicates important operating and maintenance instructions. Warning! This symbol indicates a hot surface. Certain parts of the housing can become hot during operation. After use, wait for a cool-down period of at least 10 minutes before handling or transporting the device. Warning! As a manufacturer, Adam Hall is obligated to notify you formally about the existence of potential health risks. Hearing damage due to high volume and prolonged exposure: When in use, this product is capable of producing high sound-pressure levels (SPL) that can lead to irreversible hearing damage in performers, em- ployees, and audience members. For this reason, avoid prolonged exposure to volumes in excess of 90 dB.5 DEUTSCHFRANCAIS ESPAÑOL ENGLISH ITALIANO POLSKI INTRODUCTION The compact and powerful Palmer STUDIOMON 5 is a 2-way neareld studio monitor with bi-amping tech- nology. It has a magnetically shielded 5-inch woofer with elastic rubber surround, a 0.75-inch tweeter with silk calotte, and a bassreex port for extended low frequency performance. The speakers are run with 30 watt class AB ampliers that provide a well-dened sound, and have a high dynamic range and excellent transient response. Balanced line inputs, with XLR and 6.35 mm jacks complete the professional features. Scope of delivery: Power cable, user manual SETUP AND POSITIONING OF THE STUDIO MONITORS The Palmer STUDIMON5 control loudspeakers are neareld monitors that are best positioned around one meter from the listening position. Set the monitors up upright, with the tweeter at the top, so that your listening position, the left and right monitors form an equilateral triangle. The speakers should also be set up at the same height as your listening position. The tweeter of the monitor should be at around ear height, or in other words directly aimed at the ears. If possible, do not position the monitors in the corner of a room, and avoid direct side wall, ceiling or ground reection in the direction of the listening position. Using separate monitor stands prevents mechanical coupling with a surface. Because spatial conditions often mean that opti- mal monitor and listening positions cannot be achieved, equalization with a multi-band equalizer may be required. Purposefully arranged acoustic absorbers also help optimize room acoustics. Set the monitors up in the listening room in such a way that there is no asymmetry in the monitor positioning (e.g. one monitor in a corner, the other standing freely in the room), as this asymmetry can create a drastically diering frequency response between the two monitors and prevent accurate, homogeneous stereo sound. CABLING Cabling with unbalanced signal cables (e.g. shielded cables with mono jack plugs) is fundamentally possible, however, due to their lower susceptibility to interference, balanced cabling with shielded XLR cables is preferable. IEC power socket with integrated fuse holder. A suitable power cable is included in delivery. IMPORTANT NOTE: Only replace the fuse with a fuse of the same type. Please note the inscription on the housing. If a fuse trips repeatedly, please contact an authorized service center.
On / o switch for the device power supply. The studio monitor should always be the last device to be switched on in the signal chain, and the rst to be switched o.
INPUT XLR Balanced line input with female 3-pin XLR jack. Both input jacks are wired in parallel. Do not use both input jacks at the same time.
INPUT TRS (Tip - Ring - Sleeve) Balanced line input with 6.35 mm jack. Both input jacks are wired in parallel. Do not use both input jacks at the same time.
Turn the volume control counterclockwise to turn down the volume, and clockwise to turn it up. Set the left and right monitors to the same volume level to achieve homogeneous stereo sound.
Do not place any items in the bass reex opening, do not place items directly behind the bass reex open- ing and do not cover the opening. Failure to observe these rules can lead to altered sound dispersion and cause undesired noise.
POWER LED The power LED on the front of the monitor lights up as soon as the device has been correctly connected to the mains and it has been switched on.
