• USB-A port (U336-1G-SFP) or USB-C port (U436-1G-SFP and U436-SMF-1G-LC) Note: Before installation, verify your fiber equipment’s wavelength (1310 nm), mode type (single or multi) and distance (in meters) matches that of the USB Fiber Transceiver Adapter specifications.

1. Install the applicable driver on your computer or laptop before

connecting the USB fiber transceiver adapter. The driver can be installed using the included CD or by visiting the model’s Technical Support page on tripplite.com to download.

2. Once the appropriate driver is successfully installed, connect a user-

supplied LC transceiver that is connected to a fiber network to the open SFP port on the adapter. If using the U436-SMF-1G-LC, the transceiver is already built into the unit and a separate transceiver is not needed.

3. If using the U336-1G-SFP, insert the USB-A male connector to a USB-A

port on your computer.

If using the U436-1G-SFP or U436-SMF-1G-LC, insert the USB-C male connector to the USB-C port on your computer.

4. A blue LED will illuminate to indicate a successful Ethernet connection.

The LED will blink when data is being transferred. TRIPP LITE’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing (at its sole option) any such defective products. To obtain service under this warranty, you must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE service center. Products must be returned to TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE service center with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof of date and place of purchase. This warranty does not apply to equipment which has been damaged by accident, negligence or misapplication or has been altered or modified in any way.
