How do I connect the HDMI switch?

Ensure all devices are powered off. Connect the HDMI sources to the input ports (cables max 5 m). Connect the switch output to the display (cable max 5 m). Plug in the external power supply, then turn on the devices. Use the Select button or remote control to change sources.

Why is there no image on the screen?

Check that the power supply is connected and the red LED is on. Ensure the HDMI cables are securely connected and do not exceed 5 m. Try reducing the resolution or color depth on the source. Test the cables with another device.

Automatic switching is not working properly

Automatic switching requires that devices be completely turned off (not in standby). If multiple sources are on, the switch selects the lowest numbered port. Turn off the active source completely to switch to the next one.

What is the maximum supported resolution?

The switch supports up to 4K @ 60 Hz (4:4:4) with 48-bit color depth (16 bits per channel). It is HDCP v2.2 and 3D compatible.

What length of HDMI cable can I use?

For optimal performance, use high-quality HDMI cables. The maximum recommended length between the source and the switch is 5 m (16 ft), and similarly between the switch and the display.

The remote control does not work

Check that the batteries are installed correctly (not included) and that there is no obstacle between the remote and the switch. Move closer to the switch and try again. If the problem persists, use the Select button on the unit.

The power indicator does not light up

Ensure the power supply is properly connected to the switch and to a working wall outlet. Try a different outlet or another adapter. If the light remains off, contact technical support.

Can I use any HDMI cable?

For optimal 4K performance, use certified high-speed HDMI cables. Tripp Lite recommends the P569 series for guaranteed compatibility with this switch.

How do I clean the switch?

Unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use chemicals, abrasives, or liquids.

What should I do if the device overheats?

Place the switch in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The operating temperature range is 0 to 40 °C. If the problem persists, reduce the number of connections or contact support.

Installation

1. Make sure the power to all devices that you will be connecting is turned off.
2. Connect an HDMI source device to an Input port on the switch.
   Note: The length of the HDMI cable connecting the source to the switch must not exceed 16 ft. (5 m).
3. Repeat step 2 to connect source devices to the remaining Input ports on the switch.
4. Connect the Output port on the switch to the HDMI input port of your display.

Installation

1. Connect the external power supply to the switch, and then plug it into a Surge Protector, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or Power Distribution Unit (PDU). The red Power LED and green Input 1 LED will illuminate to indicate that power is being received.
2. Turn on the power to the HDMI source devices and display.
3. Switch between source devices via the Select pushbutton on the unit or the included remote control. You can also let the Auto Switch functionality automatically switch to ports that are powered on. When multiple ports have powered-on devices connected to them, the lowest numbered port will be switched to. Once the device connected to the lowest numbered port is powered off, the next powered-on port in line will be switched to.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to get an acceptable image after following the installation instructions, try the troubleshooting tips below.

1. Is the external power supply that came with the product connected and plugged into a working power source?
   For the product to function properly, the switch must be connected to and receiving power from an external power supply.

2. Was the power to the connected devices turned off prior to installation? If not, restart them.

3. What resolution are you trying to reach? B119-002-UHD, B119-004-UHD and B119-005-UHD are tested to support 4K x 2K Ultra High Definition (UHD) video resolutions up to 4K @ 60 Hz, and 48-bit Deep Color (16 bits per channel).

4. What length HDMI cable are you using? (See the Installation section in this manual for details on the maximum cable distance). The shorter the cable being used, the higher the resolution you will be able to obtain. (continued)

If you are not able to get an acceptable image, try using a shorter cable, or lowering your source's video resolution or color depth settings.

5. What type of cabling are you using?

Inferior cabling can result in poor performance, so it is important that you use cables that can support the video resolution you are trying to obtain. For optimal results, use P569-Series High Speed HDMI cables. They have been tested to work with the B119-002-UHD, B119-004-UHD and B119-005-UHD switches.

1. Test your cables to ensure they are working properly. For example, connect your HDMI cable between a source and monitor that you know works to see if the cable is functioning.

7. Is the unit located in an area that exposes it to higher temperatures?

If the product is overheated, it will not function properly.
