Instruction Manual Thank you for choosing our product. We hope you will enjoy using the appliance. Symbols in this Instruction Manual Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:

This warns you of dangers to your health and indicates possible injury risks. CAUTION: This refers to possible hazards to the appliance or other objects. General Notes Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the in- ternal packing. If you pass the appliance on to a third party, always include all the relevant documents.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.

• Do not use the appliance outdoors as protected animal species (e. g. bees, butterflies) can be killed. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

• Always switch off the appliance and pull the mains plug out of the socket (pull the mains plug, not the cable) when you are not using the appliance, attaching acces- sories, for cleaning or in the event of a fault.

• Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.

• The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If any damage is detected, the appliance must no longer be used.

• Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician.

• Only use original accessories.

• In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

WARNING: Dangerous Voltage!

• The lightning symbol is intended to alert the user to the pres- ence of dangerous voltages inside the appliance!

• Do not insert any metal objects through the housing grille when the appliance is in operation!

• The housing must not be opened by the user under any circum- stances.

• Do not operate the appliance in the immediate vicinity of water (e. g. bathrooms, swimming pools, damp cellars). CAUTION:

• For indoor use only!

• The appliance is not suitable for use in barns, stables and simi- lar locations.

• The appliance is not be used in locations where ammable va- pour or explosive dust is likely to exist.

• The appliance is to be kept out of the reach of children.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental ca- pabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Children shall not play with the appliance.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu- facturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Attracted by the UV light, the insects inside the appliance come into contact with an electric grid, where they receive an electric shock that is lethal to insects. The lifeless insects fall into the easily removable collecting tray. For your safety, the outer housing prevents accidental contact with the high-voltage grid. Notes for Use

• To increase efficiency, do not hang or place the appli- ance in the immediate vicinity of strong light sources.

• If you want to hang the appliance, make sure that there is a power socket nearby.

• Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

• Clean the appliance and the drip tray if necessary, but at least once a week.

• Use the cleaning brush supplied for cleaning.

WARNING: Dangerous Voltage!

The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply before the fluorescent tube is removed. The fluorescent tube must be disposed of sepa- rately. Contact qualified specialists for this. Due to their mercury content, T5 fluorescent tubes must not be disposed of with normal household waste. They must be taken to a suitable hazardous waste collection point or recycling centre. Please return any electrical equipment that you will no longer use to the collection points provided for their disposal.
