1. ABOUT THE DAYLIGHT LAMP WITH MOOD LIGHTING
Instructions for use
Congratulations on the purchase of your new FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting. The product will offer many years of reliable usage if handled correctly. Please keep your receipt, these instructions and the original packaging safe in case of future requirement. Please read the instructions carefully to gain the most benefit from your new FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting, although the usage guidelines in this document do not replace the advice of your qualified medical advisor.
Intended use
Medical intended use of this appliance is to treat SAD (seasonal affective disorder) or winter depression. The FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting is intended to boost people energy level, to adjust circadian rhythms and make people feel more awake. The FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting is safe and medically proven to relief from the winter blues.
How does the FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting work?
In autumn and winter, the seasons with the least sunlight because of shorter days, the lack of sunlight and a problem with certain brain chemicals stops the hypothalamus working properly. The lack of light is thought to affect the production of the hormone melatonin (that makes you sleepy).
The FW450 Daylight lamp with mood lighting uses bright lights to simulate the sunlight during the darker autumn and winter, whilst eliminating the dangerous UV rays contained in sunlight. The additional light helps your brain to reduce to production of hormone melatonin, adjust the levels of melatonin that can help the symptoms of SAD or winter depression.
Seasonal Affective Disorder
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as known as winter depression, winter blues. It may cause people:
- Feel low, listless and fatigued - Need for more sleep
- Have trouble concentrating - Less active than normal
- Lacking in energy
Symptoms occur during the same season each year. Most people with SAD start to have symptom in winter and feel better in summer.
Contraindication
The following conditions may be contraindication for use of this appliance:
- Suffer(ed) from severe depression
- Recent eye surgery or a diagnosed eye condition which your doctor advised you to avoid bright light
- On specific medication (i.e. certain antidepressants, psychotropic drugs or malaria tablets);
- Have high blood pressure with vitreous hemorrhage have no benefit;
- Skin sensitive to light, such as systemic lupus erythematosus
Always consult your doctor before your start using this appliance if you have any of the above conditions.
Possible side effects

Measures to avoid, minimize or alleviate these side effects:
- Increase the treatment distance
- Avoid using the appliance during the late evening or before sleep

Safety notes
- Do not use this appliance in wet surroundings (e.g. in the bathroom or near a shower). Do not immerse appliance in water or any other liquid.
- This appliance is suitable in home healthcare environment.
Before use, ensure that all packaging materials are removed and that there is no visible damage to the appliance. When in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact your dealer or the customer service address provided. - This appliance is only intended for use on the human body.
- Close supervision in necessary when this appliance is used by, or near children or invalids.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Don't need any special training for this appliance. - Keep the appliance away from children and pets.

Keep the cord away from hot objects and open flames.

Connect the appliance only to the mains voltage listed on the type plate.
- Do not use the appliance in a room where there is no other light source, as this may cause eyestrain. Use the light of this appliance as an addition to the normal light (sunlight, electric light) in your home.
- Do not look straight into the light too long, as this may be uncomfortable to your eyes.
- Do not use the appliance where its light may hinder you or other people during the performance of essential tasks such as driving or operating heavy equipment.
- Always remove the mains plug and let the appliance cool off before you touch it.
- Do not touch the appliance with wet hands while it is plugged in; do not allow any water to be sprayed onto it. The appliance must be operated only when it is completely dry.
- Protect the appliance from strong impacts.
- Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
- If the cord or the appliance is damaged, contact customer service or the dealer, since special tools are needed to make repairs. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Opening the product will invalidate the guarantee.
- Disconnection from the power supply network is only guaranteed when the mains part is unplugged.
This appliance is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures with air or with oxygen or nitrous oxide. - This appliance requires no calibration, preventive inspection and maintenance.
- This appliance is not repairable and contains no user serviceable parts.
- The operator shall not touch the appliance and the patient simultaneously.
- The appliance is protected against unauthorized use. Do not modify this appliance without authorization of the manufacturer.

- This appliance is not intended for commercial or clinical use, but only for individual, private household use.
If you are taking medication such as pain relievers, antihypertensives or antidepressants, consult your doctor before using this appliance. - People with retinal diseases as well as diabetics need to be examined by an ophthalmologist before beginning to use this appliance.
- Please do not use if you have an eye disease such as cataracts, glaucoma, diseases of the optic nerve in general and inflammation of the vitreous humour.
- If you have health concerns of any kind, contact your general practitioner!
EMC Information
- Warning: Use of this appliance adjacent to or stacked with other device should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this appliance and the other device should be observed to verify that they are operating normally. If the appliance does not light on or flickering, it means that the appliance is not operating normally.
- Warning: Don't near active HF surgical equipment and the RF shielded room of an ME system for magnetic resonance imaging, where the intensity of EM disturbances is high.
- Warning: Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30~cm to any part of this appliance, including power cable. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment could result.
- If the appliance does not light on or flickering due to the electromagnetic disturbances, do not use it and try to place the appliance in other location.
- For maintaining the basic safety and essential performance with regard to electromagnetic disturbances for the expected service life, please precaution to take if the use location is near (e.g. less than 1,5km from) from AM, FM or TV broadcast antennas.

- Do not use alcohol or ammonia base liquid to clean the light course of the device. The cleaning information provided in the section "Cleaning and Storage".
- Please do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. This could result in serious injuries. Failure to observe this regulation shall void the warranty.
If the appliance is damaged in any way or it is not working, it should not be operated. Please try to fix the problem according to FAQ table. If the problem still not resolved, please contact customer service or the dealer, since special tools are needed to make repairs. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Manufacturer will provide proper guidelines and materials to assist to service personnel in parts repair.
4. OPERATION (see also the pictures in the beginning of this manual)
Before use, please check the appliance for damage or faults. If you notice any damage or faults on the appliance, do not use it and contact customer services or your supplier.
- Fold the stand out. Place the appliance on a solid surface such as table. Place the appliance at an angle to your body to avoid looking at the appliance directly.
- Place the appliance approximately 12-45 cm from your eyes. You can read, eat, work at computer, watch TV or exercise while you use the appliance.
- Plug in the appliance and switch on the light with higher intensity by pressing the ON/OFF button. To choose a lower intensity, press the ON/OFF button again.
Recommended times to use Daylight lamp:

In effect, the closer you are to the source of light, the less time you need to use it.
Note
- Push the plug completely into the mains socket.
- Ensure that there is a socket near the place where the appliance will stand.
- Lay the mains cable in such a way that no one can trip over it.
- Do not place the appliance on the position that is difficult to disconnect it.
- Do not look directly into the light continuously! Some eye pain or mild headaches may be experienced during initial sessions but these should pass. If in doubt just lower your treatment times until you feel comfortable again.

The appliance automatically turns OFF after 4 hours of continuous use for protect the safety.

During the darkest period of the year, repeat use the appliance every day at the right time to achieve the result. It is usually sufficient to use 30 minutes a day, it depends on light intensity and distance. It is safe to use it longer, if you want it. Do not use the appliance late within 3 hours of going to bed; it could disrupt your sleep.
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to turn off the appliance at any time.
Mood light: In addition to the normal daylight, the Daylight lamp also features a mood light with change of colour.
- To switch to coloured mood light, press the RGB button.
- To choose a different light colour, press the RGB button again.
- To change back to white therapy light, press the ON/OFF button.
- Press and hold the RGB button for 2 seconds to turn off the appliance at any time.
Note: The mood light must not be considered for medical purpose.
5. CLEANING AND STORAGE
- Before you clean the appliance, always switch it off, unplug it and let it cool off.
- Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.
- Clean using a damp cloth, to which you can apply a little detergent if necessary.
- Do not let water run into the appliance or spill water onto the appliance.
It's advised to clean the device once per month.
When this appliance is not being used, it should be stored in a dry location out of reach of children. Do not keep the appliance connected to a power source. Follow the storage instructions provided in the "Technical Specification" Chapter.
6.DISPOSAL

Please note that this appliance is marked with the WEEE symbol on the left. This means that this appliance must not be disposed of together with ordinary household waste, as electrical and electronic waste must be disposed of separately.
If you have any questions, please contact your local authorities responsible for waste disposal.
