The product is equipped with or supplied with a lithium-ion battery. Do not throw the batteries into a fire and do not subject them to high temperatures. There is a risk of explosion!

SILVERCREST SAST 18 A1 - ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! - 2

The mains adapter is for indoor use only.

Before first use

1) Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
2) Check whether the filter holder 17 and the HEPA filter 16 are firmly installed in the dirt container 18. They may have worked loose during transport.

To insert the filter holder 17 and the HEPA filter 16 into the dirt container 18, proceed as follows:

  • The filter holder can only be fitted in the dirt container in one position. The side labelled "UP" must be facing upwards. Push the filter holder as far as possible into the dirt container. Make sure that the filter holder is straight and that the rubber lip seals the dirt container.

Insert the HEPA filter 16 into the filter holder 17 so that the catches on the HEPA filter 16 fit into the corresponding recesses on the filter holder 17. The arrow on the HEPA filter 16 must be aligned with the arrow on the filter holder 17. Turn the HEPA filter 16 clockwise towards the symbol.

3) Place the dirt container 18 on the motor unit 14:

  • First, place the contacts on the underside of the dirt container 18 onto the contact pins on the underside of the motor unit 14. This pushes the two catches on the motor unit 14 into the recesses on the dirt container 18.
  • Press the upper side of the dirt container 18 against the upper side of the motor unit 14 so that the catch audibly engages. The dirt container 18 is now firmly seated on the motor unit 14.

Information about the batteries

The appliance runs on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Before using the appliance for the first time, the batteries must be charged. The charge indicator lamp ⑫ flashes red during charging. As soon as the batteries are fully charged, the charge indicator lamp ⑫ lights up green.

If the charge indicator lam2 flashes alternately green and red, the battery is almost completely discharged and the appliance switches off after approx. 1 minute. This protects the appliance from deep discharge.

Installation of the wall bracket

Ensure that there are no power cables or water pipes in the wall at the location where you intend to drill the holes for the wall bracket 7. Drilling into a current-carrying electric cable can be potentially fatal!

1) Select a suitable installation location for the wall bracket ①: It must be possible to remove the handheld vacuum cleaner easily and there must be a mains power socket nearby. In addition, there should be no power or water lines in the wall.
2) Drill two holes below each other at a distance of approx. 110mm from each other. The drill holes must be suitable for 5mm wall plugs.
3) Push in the wall plugs and screw in the screws so that the heads protrude a few millimetres.
4) Hang the wall bracket with the drill holes over the two screws and ensure that the screws slide into the slots. The wall bracket should lie flush against the wall. You can adjust the distance to the wall and compensate for any unevenness in the wall by screwing in or unscrewing the screws.
5) Ensure that the power cable is not trapped and that it lies properly in the cut-out.
6) Push the two accessories holders ⑧ into the respective catches on the left and right of the wall bracket ⑦. You can place the nozzles in the accessories holders ⑧.
7) Place the barrel plug 9 of the power adapter 10 into the wall bracket 7 from below. Secure the barrel plug 9 by turning it.
8) Plug the mains adapter 10 into a power socket.

Charging

NOTE

  • Check to ensure that the On/Off switch has been pushed back (to the position "OFF") before starting the charging process.
Hang the appliance into the wall bracket from above. The catches on the wall bracket should slide into the recesses on the motor unit 14 and the barrel plug 9 into the socket on the lower end of the motor unit 14. The charge indicator lamp 12 flashes red and the charging process begins.
When charging is complete, which can take around 5 to 5.5 hours with fully discharged batteries, the charge indicator lamp lights up green. The appliance automatically switches to trickle charging. Nevertheless, in order to avoid possible damage to the batteries, do not leave the appliance permanently connected to the mains adapter.
Recharge the batteries again if the appliance's suction power becomes appreciably weaker and the charge indicator lamp ⑫ flashes green.

NOTE

If the charge indicator lamp2 flashes alternately green and red, the battery is almost completely discharged and the appliance switches off after approx. 1 minute. This protects the appliance from deep discharge.
The appliance can also be charged directly via the mains adaptor. To do this, remove the barrel plug 9 from the wall holder 7 with a slight twist and insert it into the socket on the appliance.
The appliance cannot be operated during charging.

Operation

ATTENTION!

  • The suction opening must always be open and may not be blocked. Blockages lead to overheating and damage to the motor.
Use the wet-suction nozzle only at level I (low/wet suction

NOTES

Make certain that the HEPA filte is inserted before using the appliance.
- When vacuuming liquid, do not exceed the MAX marking in the dirt container 18.
If the motorised brush attachment is blocked so that the brush can no longer turn, the charge indicator lamp 12 flashes red after approx. 15 seconds of the blockage, the working light 15 goes out and the appliance stops vacuuming. If this happens, remove the blockage as described in the section "Cleaning the brush attachment". Slide the On/Off switch 11 to the "OFF" position. To restart the appliance, slide the On/Off switch 11 to position I or II.

1) Remove the appliance from the wall bracket ⑦ or, if you are not using the wall bracket ⑦, remove the barrel plug ⑨ from the socket.
2) If required, place the appropriate nozzle in the suction opening. See section "Using accessories".
3) To switch the appliance on, slide the On/Off switch 1 forwards into position I (= low power/wet suction 2 or position II (= high power). The charge indicator lamp 1 lights up yellow at level I, green at level II. The working light 15 lights up.
4) To switch the appliance off, place the On/Off switch ① back to the "OFF" position. All lamps go out.

NOTE

After you have vacuumed up liquids, clean the dirt container immediately. Otherwise, bacteria or mould will build up inside! Ensure that the HEPA filter is completely dry before using the appliance again.

NOTE ON VACUUMING UP LIQUIDS.

If you have vacuumed liquids, always carry the appliance with the wet-suction nozzle 5 pointing downwards:

SILVERCREST SAST 18 A1 - NOTE ON VACUUMING UP LIQUIDS. - 1
