COOKING UTENSIL SELECTION

1. Only use cooking utensils, which

are approved for induction cook- ing.

2. Useable pans are: stainless steel

saucepans with ferro magnetic bottom. cast iron pans and sauce- pans, enamelled iron saucepans and pans.

3. You can check with a magnet, if

your sauce-pans are useable for induction cooking. Whenever the magnet is adhering at the bot- tom outside, the saucepan can be used on the induction cooker.

4. Not useable are saucepans and

pans made of aluminium, copper, glass, ceramic and some chrome nickel alloys.

Adapt the power or temperature setting to the used saucepans. When using small saucepans you can already cook with 180 °C or

1.400 watts. A too high setting

in combination with small sauce- pans can cause damages of the appliance.

7. The non-stick-coating of coated

saucepans and frying pans can be damaged if used with too strong heating. Please follow the infor- mation of the saucepan manufac- turer with regard to the applica- tion of the pots.

8. Choose in the case of doubt a

lower power setting or tempera- ture to avoid damages. Put the saucepan always precisely in the middle of the cooking field to avoid error messages and auto- matic switching off. Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de30 FUNCTIONING Cooking on an induction cooker saves up to 50 % of electric power. The cook- ing time is reduced by up to 30 %. When cooking on an induction cook- er, not the hotplate is heated, but the saucepan on it, provided that the bot- tom is ferromagnetic. The heating is effected by a magnetic alternating field below the hotplate. The advantages of induction cooking are: Short reaction time, short pre- heating time, quick and exact heating. Rapid heating, since the full amount of energy is immediately available. Cool hotplate, which is only heated by the heat reflected from the saucepan. Great energy saving of up to 50%. Easy cleaning, as food cannot burn in case of boiling over. High safety: as soon as the sauce- pan is taken away from the plate, the heat supply is stopped auto- matically. SAFETY FUNCTIONS

1. Overvoltage / low voltage protection

When power voltage is too high or too low, the induction cooker will compen- sate the voltage automatically and will adjust the output power.

2. Overheating protection

When the temperature of the hotplate is too high, the induction cooker will stop automatically and a long buzzer sound will be heard to alert you un- til the temperature returns to normal (fault E 5).

3. High voltage pulse protection

During operation, when power supply receives a transient high voltage pulse (e.g. lightning strike), the induction cooker will stop automatically and in one minute will resume automatically.

4. Small metal part protection

If small iron metal parts with a diam- eter of less than 80 mm are detected on the hotplate, the appliance cannot be switched on.

The appliance detects automatically if the used saucepan is suitable for in- duction cooking or not. If the sauce- pan is not suitable, a buzzer sound will be heard to alert you until an appro- priate saucepan is put on the hotplate (fault E 0). Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de31

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning it.

1. Do not immerse the appliance

into water or any other liquid for cleaning.

2. Wipe the surface and the housing

5. If necessary you can use a cleanser

or scraper for ceran glass cookers.

regularly with a soft brush to pre- vent dust deposits. TROUBLE SHOOTING Fault Reason Reaction E0 No cookware on the plate, cookware not fitted for induction, cookware not placed correctly in the middle Only use cookware approved for in- duction cooking with a diameter of at least 12 cm and max. 20 cm, Place the cookware in the midldle of the respective cooking plate. E01 Power circuit fault Send the appliance to our technical service for repair. E02 Temperature control fault Send the appliance to our technical service for repair. E03 E04 Variations of voltage In case of sudden fluctuations of the voltage cooking is automatically inter- rupted. After approx. 1 minute cook- ing is continued. E05 Too high surface tem- perature If the surface temperature is too high, an acoustic signal is given and the appliance is shout off automatically. As soon as the temperature has fall- en to the normal temperature range, cooking can be restarted. In order to avoid overheating, we rec- ommend to use low power or temper- ature settings for small saucepans and medium to high settings for large saucepans . E06 Overheating due to fan fault As soon as the temperature has fall- en to the normal temperature range, cooking can be restarted.
