This appliance is intended for use in private households and in similar situa- tions, such as the following:
- in staff kitchens in shops, offi ces and other businesses
- on agricultural estates
- in hotel and motel rooms and other residential facilities
- in bed & breakfast accommodation The appliance is not suitable for commercial or industrial use. Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
- Do not modify the appliance without our consent and do not use any auxiliary equipment that we have not approved or supplied.
- Use only spare parts and accessories that we have supplied or ap- proved.
- Heed all the information in these operating instructions, especially the safety information. Any other use is deemed improper and can cause personal injury or property damage.
- Do not use the product in areas where there is a risk of explosion, e.g. tank systems, fuel storage depots, or areas in which solvents are being used. It is also not permitted to use this appliance in areas where the air is contaminated with fi ne particles (e.g. fl our dust or sawdust).
- Do not expose the appliance to any extreme conditions. The following should be avoided:
3.1. People not permitted to use this appliance
- This appliance may not be used by children. The appliance and its mains cable should be kept out of the reach of children.
- Appliances may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities and/or who have no experience in, or knowl- edge of, using such appliances providing they are supervised or have been instructed in how to use the appliance safely and have understood the associated risks.
- Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
- The appliance must always be disconnected from the mains when left unattended and before assembly, disassembly or cleaning. WARNING! Keep plastic packaging out of the reach of children. There is a risk of suffocation! 3.2. General instructions
- Ensure the mains cable is out of harm’s way and will not trip people up. Do not allow the mains cable to become trapped or squashed.
- Do not use the appliance if the mains cable or appliance itself has been dropped or there is visible damage.
- There are dangerous voltage levels inside the appliance. Never open the housing or insert objects into the ventilation slots. Risk of fatal electrical shock!
- In order to disconnect the appliance completely from the power supply, pull the plug from the socket. Always pull the plug, never the mains cable.
- Appliances left connected to the mains power supply during thun- derstorms may be damaged. Therefore always remove the mains plug if there is a thunderstorm.
- Avoid touching moving parts. Preparation for use and electrical connection
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed AC 220-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz safety plug socket that has at least a 16A fuse. Do not use an extension cable.
- Place the appliance on a firm, level surface.
- Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip over and fall.
- Remove the plug from the mains socket after use, before cleaning and at times when the appliance is left unattended.
- Unwind the cable fully when using the appliance.
- Do not allow the mains cable to come into contact with hot ob- jects or surfaces (e.g. cooker hob).
- Do not allow the mains cable to come into contact with water or other liquids.
- This appliance should not be operated on an external timer or a re- mote control system. 3.4. Safe operation
- Never immerse the appliance in liquids!
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation. WARNING! Moving parts with sharp edges. There is a risk of injury. Avoid touching moving parts.
- Ensure that no foreign objects (spoon, dough scraper or similar items) are in the blender jug during operation.
- There is a risk of scalding if the appliance is used with foodstuffs that are hotter than 60°C. Do not fill the blender jug with hot foodstuffs.
- Never remove the lid and/or blender jug before the blade assem- bly has come to a complete standstill.
- Do not use the blender without any food in it.
35 of 114 3.5. Faults WARNING! Live components. There is a risk of electrical shock. Therefore please follow the instructions below:
- Avoid damaging the appliance or the power cable.
- Always check the power cable and the appliance for damage be- fore use.
- Never try to open and/or repair an appliance component yourself.
- Have any defects repaired immediately by a specialist repair shop. If the mains cable for this appliance is damaged, it must be re- placed by the Medion Service Centre or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards. 3.6. Cleaning and maintenance WARNING! Live components. There is a risk of electrical shock. WARNING! Moving parts with sharp edges. There is a risk of injury. Avoid touching moving parts. Therefore please follow the instructions below:
- Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
- Always disconnect the appliance plug from the mains socket be- fore cleaning or servicing the appliance and before fitting or dis- mantling the attachments.

Before using the appliance for the first time and after each subsequent use, rinse the blender jug, blade assembly, lid and lid cap thoroughly. Please also read section “7. Cleaning the appliance” on page 40. NOTE The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight smell during initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of malfunction. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Fill the blender jug.
5.6.1. Attaching the lid
Place the lid onto the blender jug so that the catches on the lid engage with the corresponding slots on the blender jug. Twist the lid onto the blender jug until it closes tightly and the protrusion on the lid is fully aligned with the handle on the blender jug. Only then will the safety contact on the base allow operation. Place the blender jug directly onto the drive shaft on the blender base. NOTE The blender cannot be operated if the blender jug is incorrectly fitted. If incorrectly fitted, the safety contact on the housing edge would prevent operation. Connect the blender to an AC 220-240 V ~ 50/60Hz mains socket. The blender is now ready for use.
6. Using the blender
WARNING! Moving parts with sharp edges. There is a risk of injury. Avoid touching the blade assembly. ATTENTION! Never remove the lid and/or blender jug before the blade as- sembly has come to a complete standstill. ATTENTION! Always set the on/off switch to the OFFposition before inserting or removing the blender jug! Never use the blender jug without the lid on! Place the blender jug on the base. Fill the blender jug. Place the lid and lid cap on the blender jug. ATTENTION! Do not operate the blender for more than 3 minutes at a time. Wait a few minutes for the appliance to cool before blending again. Select the appropriate speed from the following table based on the required use: Speed level Food 1-3 Blending liquids 4-6 Blending liquids containing solid foods If food sticks to the side of the jug (e.g. herbs or other wet food), switch the ap- pliance off and dislodge the food with a flat spoon or spatula then pulse two or three more times to chop them. ATTENTION! Do not overload the blender motor by adding large amounts of frozen or very hard ingredients to the blender jug. If the mo- tor does not run smoothly, switch the appliance off immediately (speed control to position 0), disconnect from the mains and re- move some ingredients from the blender jug. In order to add more ingredients, remove the lid cap. You can now add ingredients during operation. Use the pusher to push the ingredients down. Do not forget to replace the lid cap after you have added the ingredients. Once the mixture has been chopped sufficiently, wait until the blade stops. Set the on/off switch to the OFF position and disconnect the mains plug from the socket. Lift the blender jug upwards to remove it from the base. 39 of 114 Pulse mode Use the pulse button to crush ice or chop solid foods. The pulse button must be held down continually during operation. NOTE When chopping food, working in pulse mode will achieve the best re- sults. Operating it for longer will chop the food too finely. 6.1. Crushing ice Make sure the jug is clean before using the blender to crush ice. Rinse the blend- er jug out thoroughly. Even the tiniest detergent residues can affect the taste of the crushed ice. Fill the blender jug with ice cubes. Place the blender jug directly onto the drive shaft on the base. 7. Cleaning the appliance
WARNING! Live components. There is a risk of electrical shock. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids! WARNING! Parts with sharp edges. There is a risk of injury. Avoid touching the blade assembly. To avoid injuries, use a washing-up brush or a similar suit- able cleaning implement to clean the blade. NOTICE! Do not use any harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or objects to clean the accessories and the housing because they could damage the surfaces. Use a mild cleaning agent, e.g. washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Pull the plug from the mains socket before cleaning the appliance. Clean the parts (blender jug, lid and lid cap) with warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blender jug out thoroughly with hot water and washing-up liquid. Leave the parts to dry thoroughly. 8.1. Strawberry smoothie Ingredients 350g strawberries 1 banana 500ml orange juice 1 tbsp honey (runny) (2 servings) Method Wash the strawberries and cut into quarters. Peel the banana. Place all the ingredi- ents in the blender jug. Purée until smooth and serve immediately. Sweeten with sugar to taste. Tip: the smoothies taste best when the ingredients are well chilled. 8.2. Raspberry & orange smoothie Ingredients 250g raspberries, fresh or defrosted frozen fruit 200g natural yoghurt 300ml orange juice (freshly squeezed) (2 servings) Method Place the raspberries and yoghurt in the blender jug and purée for approximately 30 seconds until creamy. Add the orange juice and blend again. Sweeten with sugar to taste. Tip: the smoothies taste best when the ingredients are well chilled. 8.3. Pesto Ingredients 75g fresh basil 2 tbsp pine nuts 1 clove of garlic ½ tsp salt 200ml olive oil 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, freshly grated (4 servings) 16517 Standmixer DE EN FR NL DK ECommerce Content final.indb 4116517 Standmixer DE EN FR NL DK ECommerce Content final.indb 41 17.09.2015 09:36:2117.09.2015 09:36:2142 of 114 Method Place all the ingredients, except the Parmesan cheese, in the blender jug and chop in pulse mode (speed control in P position). Next, purée well adding olive oil while the blender is running. Remove the pesto and finally stir in two tbsps of grated Parmesan cheese. 8.4. Pancakes Ingredients 250g plain flour 500ml milk 3 eggs Pinch of salt Method Place all the ingredients in the blender jug. Mix the ingredients thoroughly in pulse mode. If you do not plan to use the appliance for a long period of time, pull out the mains plug and store the appliance in a dry location.
The product left our warehouse in perfect condition. If you do encounter a problem, however, please consult the table below to see if you can solve the problem. If the problem persists, please contact our customer service department. Problem Possible cause Remedy The appliance is not work- ing. The plug is not connected to the mains. Connect the appliance to a properly installed AC 220-240V~ 50/60Hz safe- ty socket. The appliance has over- heated. Switch off the appliance for a few seconds and then switch it on again. If the appliance still doesn’t work, allow it to cool down for half an hour. The blender does not work. The blender jug has not been correctly attached. Attach the blender jug as instructed in “5. Before ini- tial use” on page 37. The lid has not been at- tached properly. Twist the lid onto the blender jug until it closes tightly and the protrusion on the lid is fully aligned with the handle on the blender jug. Packaging The product has been packaged to protect it from damage in transit. Packaging is raw material and can therefore be reused or recycled. Appliance Old appliances may not be disposed of with the normal household rub- bish. In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU, the appliance must be proper- ly disposed of at the end of its service life. This involves separating the materials in the appliance for the purpose of recycling and avoiding any impact on the environment. Take the appliance to a collection point for electrical scrap or a recycling centre. Contact your local waste disposal company or your local authority for more infor- mation on this subject.

15. General Warranty Conditions
15.1. General information The warranty period is 24 months and begins on the day the product is purchased. The warranty covers all types of material and product damage that could occur du- ring normal use. Please keep your original proof of purchase in a safe place. The warranty provider reserves the right to refuse to confirm the status of the warranty or to carry out a re- pair under warranty if a valid proof of purchase cannot be produced. If it is necessary to return your device for repair, please ensure that it is suitably pa- ckaged for transportation. Unless otherwise specified, you shall bear the costs for sending the device and the transport risk. The warranty provider does not assume any liability for additional materials sent with the product that do not belong to the original package contents supplied with the product. Please enclose as much information as possible about the fault when sending the device to the warranty provider. In order to make a valid claim under warranty and before returning the device, please contact the Service Hotline operated by the war- ranty provider or the Service Portal. They will provide you with information on how to proceed further. This warranty has no effect on your statutory warranty rights and is subject to the laws of the country in which the first purchase of the product was made by the end customer.
In the event of a fault on your product that is covered by this warranty, the warranty provider guarantees to repair or replace the product. The decision about whether to repair or replace the device is taken by the warranty provider. Therefore, the warran- ty provider can at its own discretion decide to replace a device submitted for repair under warranty with a refurbished device of the same quality. No warranty is provided for batteries or rechargeable batteries or for consumable materials i.e. parts which have to be replaced at regular intervals during the normal use of the product e.g. video projector lamps. A pixel error (permanently coloured, light or dark point in an image) is not generally considered a fault. Please refer to the information provided in the manual for this product for the precise number of permissible defects in the image. The warranty provider gives no warranty for burnt-in images on plasma or LCD de- vices that result from the improper use of the device. Please refer to the information provided in the manual for this product for precise instructions on operating your plasma or LCD device. The warranty does not cover errors relating to the playback of data media that have been created in an incompatible format or as a result of using unsuitable software. 47 of 114 costs already incurred in the form of a flat-rate handling charge, as well as to char- ge the customer for the materials and labour required for the repair after submitting a cost estimate. You will be informed in advance as the customer about these repair charges; you are responsible for accepting or rejecting the repair process.
Malfunctions and damage to the device caused by external influences, accidental damage, improper use, changes made to the product, modifications, upgrades, the use of third-party parts, neglect, viruses or software faults, improper transport, im- proper packaging or loss during the return of the product are not covered by the warranty issued by the warranty provider. The warranty will be invalidated if the fault to the device is caused by maintenance or repair carried out by someone other than a service partner authorized by the warranty provider. The warranty will also be invalidated if labels or serial numbers on the device or a component of the device have been modified or made illegible.
15.1.3. Service Hotline
Before sending the device to the warranty provider, you must contact us via the Ser- vice Hotline or the Service Portal. This ensures that you receive further information on how to make a valid claim under warranty. The use of the hotline may be subject to a charge. The Service Hotline should under no circumstances be considered a substitute for user training for software and hardware or reading the manual , nor does it provide support for third-party products. 15.2. Special warranty conditions for PC, notebook, pocket PC (PDA), devices with navigation functions (PNA), telephone devices, mobile telephones and devices with a memory function Should any of the supplied options (e.g. memory cards, etc.) have a fault, you are en- titled to a repair or replacement. The warranty covers material and labour costs for restoring the functionality of the product concerned. The warranty can be invalidated if any damage to the product itself or the supplied options results from the addition of any hardware to your product that is not produ- ced or distributed by the warranty provider. A limited warranty is provided for supplied software. This applies to a pre-installed operating system and also to supplied programs. For software supplied with the de- vice by the warranty provider, a warranty is issued that any data media, e.g. discs and CD-ROMs on which the software is supplied, shall be free from faults in terms of their materials and workmanship for a period of 90 days following purchase. In the event of a faulty data medium being supplied, the warranty provider shall repla- ce the faulty data medium free of charge; any further claims are excluded. Excluding the warranty for data media, all software is supplied without warranty. In the case of map material supplied for a device with navigation functions, no warranty is provided for its completeness. It may be necessary to delete all data from the device in order to repair it. Please en- sure that you have a backup copy for all of the data on the device before sending back the device. We expressly point out that the factory settings will be restored in the event of a repair. The warranty provider assumes no liability for the cost of a software configuration, lost revenue, loss of data or software, or other consequenti- al damages. 15.3. Special warranty conditions for repair on site or replacement on site If there is an entitlement to on-site repair or replacement, the specific warranty terms and conditions for on-site repair or replacement shall apply to your product. The following provisions must be ensured by you for carrying out repairs or replace- ments on site:
- Personnel from the warranty provider who arrive at your premises for the above- mentioned purpose must have unrestricted, safe and immediate access to the devices.
- Telecommunication facilities required by these personnel for the proper execu- tion of your order, for testing and diagnostic purposes or for remedying faults must be provided by you at your own expense.
- You shall be personally responsible for restoring your own application software after completion of the service by the warranty provider.
- You shall be personally responsible for configuring and connecting any existing external devices after completion of the service by the warranty provider.
- The free cancellation period for repairs or replacements on site is at least 48 hours, thereafter we shall invoice you for any costs resulting from a late or mis- sing cancellation.
