Take the plug out of the socket when the device is not being used, you are removing the mouthpiece and during cleaning or maintenance. Electrical equipment in protection category II. Only use the device for these purposes! Other uses could lead to injury or accidents! General safety instructions This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Disconnect the device from the power supply and allow to cool before changing the mouthpiece, cleaning, maintaining or storing. Protect electrical parts from moisture. When cleaning or using, never submerge the device in water or other liquids, to prevent electric shocks. Never hold the device under running water. Always apply the instructions in this manual. If the mains supply for the device is damaged, the manufacturer or customer service, or another similarly qualified person, should replace it, in order to avoid hazards. If you are not careful with the device, this could lead to a risk of fire. Be careful when using the device in the vicinity of flammable materials. Do not point it in one direction for a long period. Do not use in an explosive atmosphere. Heat can be conducted towards covered, flammable materials. After use, place the device on the stand and leave to cool before it is stored. Do not leave a device that is turned on unsupervised. Warning! Always turn the device off if you're not using it. Warning! Always remove the plug from the socket for cleaning and maintenance work, or changing the mouthpiece! And make sure that the device has cooled down completely.33 Not following the safety guidelines can lead to electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury. Safety instructions work area Ensure there is a clear and well-illuminated working environment. Messy, dark working environments lead to accidents. Never use electrical tools in a potentially explosive atmosphere, such as near flammable liquids, gasses, vapours or other substances. Electrical tools can cause sparks which could set light to these substances. When you are using electrical tools, keep children and bystanders at a safe distance. If you are distracted, you may lost control of the tool. Instructions for electrical safety Plugs for electrical devices must fit properly into the socket. Never make any changes to a plug. Do not use adapters. Standard plugs and suitable sockets reduce the chance of an electric shock. Prevent physical contact with earthed surfaces, e.g. pipes, radiators, hobs and fridges. If your body is earthed, the chance of an electric shock is increased. Never expose electrical tools to rain or moisture. If water penetrates an electrical device, the chance of an electric shock is increased. Never use the cable to carry an electrical device, to move it or to pull the plug out of the socket. Protect the cable against oil, heat, sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged or jammed cables increase the chance of electric shock. When you are using electrical devices outdoors, use an extension cable that is suitable for outdoor use. Using a cable that is suitable for outdoor use reduces the chance of an electric shock.
Always use an electrical device in combination with an earth leakage circuit breaker (max. 30 mA). The use of an earth leakage circuit breaker reduces the chance of an electric shock. Instructions for personal safety Always stay alert, check what you are doing and use your common sense when you are using electrical devices. Do not use electrical devices if you are tired, or have used drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of inattention when using electrical devices could result in serious injury. Wear Personal Protective Equipment and always wear safety goggles. Wearing personal protective equipment such as a dust-mask, work shoes with anti-slip soles, safety helmet and ear protectors,34
according to the device being used, reduces the chance of personal injury. Prevent devices being started by accident. Make sure that the switch is on the OFF position before you plug the device in. Never carry electrical devices with your finger on the switch and never put the plug in the socket if the device is turned on as this can lead to accidents. Make sure that you never lose your balance; always keep two feet firmly on the ground. This will enable you to maintain control of electrical devices in unexpected circumstances. Make sure that you wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves out of the vicinity of hot components. Use and maintenance of electrical devices Do not exert excessive force on your electrical device. Use the right tools for your specific requirements. If you use the right tool for the job, you will conduct the task quicker and more effectively if it is completed at the speed for which the device is designed. Never use electrical devices on which the ON/OFF switch is not working. All electrical devices that cannot be turned on and off using the switch are dangerous and must be repaired. Pull the plug from the socket and let the device cool down before you make any changes to electrical devices, change accessories or store the electrical device. If you stick to these preventative safety measures, you will prevent the device from being started accidentally. Store electrical equipment that is not being used out of reach of children and do not let people who are not familiar with the device or these instructions use it. Electrical devices are dangerous in the hands of inexperienced users. Make sure your electrical devices are well maintained. Check to ensure that the device is assembled correctly. Check whether any parts are defective or for other elements that could impact upon the functioning of the device. Have any damaged devices repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by badly maintained devices. Use all electrical devices and accessories as given in the instructions and for the intended purpose(s). Be aware of the working conditions and the task to be completed. Using electrical devices for tasks for which they are not intended could lead to hazardous situations.35 Contact a qualified specialist who uses original parts if the device needs to be repaired. This will ensure the device works effectively. Special safety instructions for electrical devices When using electrical devices, the safety instructions must be applied at all time to prevent shocks, injury and/or fire risks. Read and apply the advice before you use the machinery. When using the device Check the following: - Does the power supply for the device correspond with the mains supply of 230-240 Volt? - Are the mains cable and plug in good condition: sturdy, without loose ends or damage. Be careful when using extension cables. Do not use the device in damp conditions. The metal mouthpiece will get hot. Be careful with it and do not touch the metal component! Prevent damage to the heating element. Do not close off the mouthpiece and the ventilation openings and/or block them. Stay with the device if it is switched on. Never direct the flow of heat towards persons and/or animals. Do not look into the mouthpiece/burner opening. Do not use the device in rainy weather or a damp environment or in an environment where there is the risk of an explosion, or near to flammable liquids. Do not use the device in dry areas, to avoid the risk of fire. During breaks, move all components from the device, e.g. when replacing the mouthpiece, and remove the plug from the socket when not in use. Do not point the device at the same location for a long period during use. Do not place the mouthpiece opening too close to the surface. A buildup of air could lead to the device overheating. Be aware of the immediate working environment and the surrounding area. The heat can penetrate flammable materials that are outside the immediate vicinity. The device must be kept clean, dry and free of oil or lubrication grease. Never use the device for inappropriate purposes.36 Never run when holding the device. Always lead the mains cable to the rear, away from the device. So that the cable and/or any extension cable does not come into contact with the hot components on the weed burner. Do not allow the hot elements of the weed burner to touch flammable materials. The device may not be operated by children. This device works at a temperature of 650°C without any visible signs of this hot temperature (no flame) but there is still a risk of burns. Be aware of the flow of hot air from the mouthpiece. This flow of hot air can cause burns and/or fires. There is a fire risk if the device is not used carefully; so apply the following:

Do not leave a device that is turned on unsupervised. When using the device When using the device, there may be a short period when vapours and gasses escape. This could be hazardous for your health. People with asthma may suffer more serious consequences Check that the switch is set to ‘0’ before you connect the plug to the mains. Always keep the mains cable and extension cable out of the way of the device’s mouthpiece. Keep children and animals at a safe distance. Keep all body parts out of the vicinity of the metal burner mouth, including the mouthpiece itself. Never touch this component until it has cooled down. Always hold the device by the insulated handle, to prevent the burner coming into contact with hidden power cables or its own cable. Turn the device off immediately: If the plug, mains cable or cable become damaged. If the switch is defective. If smoke or a scorched odour is emitted from the device. Electrical safety When using electrical machinery always apply the local safety guidelines in relation to fire hazard, risk of electric shocks and physical injury. Read the instructions carefully and follow them.37 Always check that the mains voltage corresponds with the value indicated on the specification plate. Category II device - Dual insulated - an earthed plug is not required. When using extension cables Only extension cables of the variety H05RN-F may be used. Only use an approved extension cable which is suitable for the machine’s capacity. The cables must have a diameter of at least 1.5 mm2. If the extension cable is wound around a reel, it must be completely unrolled. Inappropriate extension cables can be dangerous. If an extension cable is used, it must be suitable for outdoor use and the connection must be kept dry and off the ground. When replacing cables and plugs If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified electrician. Throw old cables and plugs away once they have been replaced. It is dangerous to leave the plug from a loose cable in the socket. Connection to the power supply This device is fitted with a cable clamp that prevents the electrical cable coming into contact with the hot components of the weed burner. INSTRUCTIONS: Always use the cable clamp Not using the cable clamp can lead to damage to the device and/or the electrical cable. Make a loop in the electrical cable. Feed the loop in the electrical cable through the opening and secure it under the cable clamp. (see photo) Gently pull the loop against the cable clamp until it is tight.38 Description and assembly

Unpacking NB: Some of the packaging materials are hazardous to children. Risk of choking! Dispose of these materials in a responsible manner! Store the accessories supplied in a safe place. Check to ensure that all of the accessories are present and check for any damage. Contact the manufacturer or supplier if anything is missing or damaged. Always keep ventilation openings clear during use. Risk of burning! Do not touch the mouthpiece. Temperature settings With the ON/OFF output switch (1), you can choose from two different temperature settings. According to usage, you can select the temperatures: - Setting I 60 °C (Ventilating/device cooling) - Setting II 650 °C39 The airflow for both settings is 500 l/min. Switching the device on Push the switch (1) to setting I or II. Switching the device off Push the switch to setting ‘0’ Attaching mouthpiece
The mouthpiece can be easily attached to the burner with the bayonet fitting (see diagram above). Never touch the burner mouth and mouthpiece during or after using the device. The burner mouth and mouthpiece get very hot during use.
Position the points marked on the mouthpiece directly opposite the centre of the opening channel on the burner mouth.
Push the mouthpiece firmly onto the weed burner and turn the mouthpiece to the left.
Make sure that the mouthpiece clicks into place on the weed burner. Option 1: Weed remover Securing extension rod (with handle) The extension rod (with handle) can only be attached to the weed burner in one way.
Position the arrow marks on the extension rod/handle directly opposite the open padlock marks on the weed burner.
Press the extension rod firmly into the weed burner and turn the extension rod/handle to the right until the arrow marks are directly opposite the closed padlock marks on the weed burner.
Make sure that the extension rod clicks into the device properly. The device may only be used as a weed burner with the extension rod. Hold the weed burner by the handle.40 Initial use
Make sure that the extension rod/handle is secured properly and that the machine is switched off.
Check to ensure that all of the relevant safety measures have been applied.
Secure the mouthpiece to treat the weeds.
Insert the plug into the socket.
Guide the electrical cable through the cable clamp (and the extension cable, if used) and away to the back.
Check to ensure there is nothing in front of the mouthpiece before you switch the device on.
Set the temperature to setting II.
Let the device warm up for around 45 seconds.
To remove the weed, place the mouthpiece over the plant for around 5 seconds.
During this time, the cell structure of the weed will be destroyed. The weed will then die within a few days.
It is not necessary to burn the weed, 5 seconds is all it takes to kill it.
For effective treatment, the mouthpiece must be placed 0-5 cm from the weed.
The effects are not immediately visible; it may take a few days before you can see the difference. You are making a long-term difference.
If you are treating plants with hard leaves, you may have to repeat the process at intervals of 1 to 2 weeks. Option 2: BBQ/fire-starter
When used to light the BBQ and/or an open fire, the device must be used without the extension piece.
Place the BBQ mouthpiece on the burner mouth (attachment method is the same as securing the mouthpiece for burning weeds)
Place the mouthpiece under the coals or wood
Make sure that any fire-lighters are positioned correctly
Insert the plug into the socket.
Check that the mouthpiece is not blocked before switching the device on.
Slide the ON/OFF and power switch to setting II; the device will start working.
Remove the device from the coals or wood blocks one they start to glow.
Then blow hot air into the coals or wood at a distance of around 10-20 cm until the coals or wood burn properly.
Damage to the BBQ mouthpiece will be avoided if you follow these instructions. Exposing the mouthpiece to high temperatures for a long period could lead to damage. Follow these instructions to ensure that the product functions effectively in the long term. NB: Never heat the coals or wood longer than necessary as this could damage your BBQ or open fire.41 Cooling, switching off and storing Before the device is completely switched off, it must be allowed to cool. Set the output switch to setting I for at least 1 minute, then the device can be switched off properly. The device can be left on the stand while cooling down. Never leave the device unattended. Make sure that the whole device is cooled before storing. Cleaning and maintenance NB: Before cleaning and maintaining the device, ensure that the plug is removed from the socket and that the device has cooled down completely. Keep safety devices, ventilation openings and the motor casing free of dust and dirt. Clean the machine with a clean cloth or blow dust out with compressed air, under low pressure. We recommend that the machine is cleaned after each use. Clean the machine regularly with a damp cloth and a little soap. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents; they could damage the plastic components on the machine. Make sure that water does not penetrate the machine's inner workings. Removal In the EU this symbol indicates that this product may not be disposed of as ordinary household waste. Old equipment contains valuable materials, suitable for recycling. These materials should be made suitable for reuse in order to prevent any adverse effects to health and the environment caused by unregulated waste collection. Therefore, please make sure that you bring old equipment to a designated collection point. Alternatively, contact the original supplier, who can make sure that as many of the components as possible can be recycled.
