Familiarise yourself with the bathroom scales before using them for the first time, and read these operating instructions carefully. These bathroom scales are used to determine a person's weight. The device should not be used outdoors or in tropical climates. These bathroom scales are not designed for commercial use or operation in a company. Use the bathroom scales only for private purposes in living areas as any other use is not as intended. If the batteries have leaked, remove them to prevent damage to the bathroom scales. You can remove leaked battery fluid with a dry, absorbent cloth. Wear suitable gloves for this purpose! 6.1. Inserting/changing the batteries To insert the batteries, remove the cover from the battery compartment (4) on the bottom of the bathroom scales by pressing the ribbed surface with your finger and then sliding the cover off sideways. Now insert the supplied batteries or change the batteries if they are empty. Pay attention to the polarity (note + and -) when inserting the batteries. The polarity is illustrated on the batteries and in the battery compartment (4). 7.1. Switching on the scales / measuring weight The bathroom scales must be calibrated before first use or after having been moved to ensure that they can determine one's weight exactly. To do so, step briefly on to the tread (2), step off it again and wait until the bathroom scales switch off automatically. The bathroom scales are now calibrated. Due to the step on power function, the bathroom scales are switched on automatically when you step on the tread (2) and they start to measure your weight immediately. In their original state, the bathroom scales are set to the "kg" unit of weight. To change the unit of weight, press the "Button for setting the unit of weight" (3) when the scales are switched on. The selected unit of weight is then indicated on the LCD display (1). Stand on the tread (2) of the bathroom scales so that your weight is evenly distributed. Remain as still as possible during the weighing process as the measurement result may be distorted otherwise. The measurement result is indicated on the LCD display (1) during the weighing process. The measurement is complete when the display flashes three times. A solid surface is required to measure weight correctly. Thus always place the bathroom scales on a solid, horizontal floor covering and never on carpet. This can distort the measurement result. To obtain comparable measurement results, you should always weigh yourself if possible at the same time of day (preferably in the morning). Always weigh yourself if possible under the same conditions: on an empty stomach, after having gone to the toilet and naked. Please note that values for the stone unit of weight are not represented as decimal values. The display is divided into two segments by a colon. Only whole numbers are displayed in the "st" unit of weight to the left of the colon. The remaining weight is displayed in the "lb" unit of weight to the right of the colon. Example: The display indicates "6: 8st". This corresponds to 6st and 8lb. 7.2. Auto Power Off The bathroom scales have an automatic switch-off function (Auto Power Off function). 8.1. Nothing is indicated on the LCD display. The batteries are empty. Replace them with new batteries of the same type. Please note the instructions in section 6.1 "Inserting/changing the batteries". The batteries are inserted incorrectly. Please note the instructions in section 6.1 "Inserting/changing the batteries". 8.2. "Lo" is indicated on the LCD display and the scales switch off. The batteries are almost empty. "USEL" is indicated on the LCD display and the scales switch off. An error has occurred and the bathroom scales cannot measure your weight. In this case, step off the tread (2) of the bathroom scales and step on it again. The weight measurement starts again. 8.4. "Err" is indicated on the LCD display. Your weight exceeds the maximum load capacity of 180 kg / 396 lb / 28.3 st. You should step off the tread (2) of the bathroom scales immediately to avoid damaging the scales.

9. Maintenance / cleaning

It is necessary to service the bathroom scales if they have been damaged in any way, for example, if the housing is damaged, if liquid or objects have penetrated the bathroom scales or if they have been exposed to rain or moisture. Servicing is also required if the device is not working properly or has been dropped. If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual sounds or smells, remove the batteries immediately from the bathroom scales. In these cases, the bathroom scales should not be used until they have been inspected by authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the servicing on the device. Never open the housing of the bathroom scales. Only use a clean, dry cloth for cleaning and never use any corrosive liquids.SilverCrest SPWB 180 A1 English - 21

10. Environmental and disposal information

All old electrical and electronic devices must be separated from normal household waste and disposed of at designated state facilities. The correct disposal of old devices in this manner will prevent environmental pollution and human health hazards. The batteries must be removed from the device before it is scrapped. Disposal of batteries Remember to protect the environment. Used batteries should not be disposed of in household waste. They must be taken to a collection point for old batteries.
