- Disposal General Notes Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions. p. 33
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not t for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appli- ance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervi- sion. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If dam- age is found the device must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, poly- styrene etc.) out of their reach. WARNING! Do not allow small children to play with the foil. There is a danger of suffocation!30 Special safety instructions for the appliance
WARNING: The blades of the knives are sharp!
Handle the knives with the necessary care! There is a risk of injury especially during cleaning!
- Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unat- tended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
- This appliance shall not be used by children.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards in- volved.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualied person and with a cable of the same type.
- Only use the appliance if you are sure that the lid is tted properly.
- The appliance is tted with a circuit breaker that prevents that the appliance can be operated without a lid. Never try to bridge this circuit breaker!
- Before you remove the lid, wait until the knives have stopped rotat- ing!

1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
2. Remove all packing materials such as foils,
lling material, cord holders, and cardboard packaging.

do not use the device. Return it to your retailer immediately. NOTE: There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. Closing and opening the lid Observe the symbols on the lid and device.

2. Secure the lid by turning it anticlockwise. The
lid is locked when both and are aligned with each other.

- When releasing the button, the device will turn off. NOTE: The motor drive of the appliance is equipped with a safety switch. If the device cannot be turned on, check the correct t of the lid. Pulse operation Press the button in intervals to operate in pulse mode. Short-term operation
- The device is suited for a short-term operation of a maximum of 30 seconds.
- Only use the appliance in immediate succes- sion for a maximum of 5 times.

- Always remove the plug before cleaning.
- Never immerse the device in water for cleaning. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or re.
- The cutting surfaces of the knives are sharp. There is a risk of injury! Handle these with the necessary care! CAUTION:
- Do not immerse the lid in water. Water ac- cumulated inside the lid cannot be removed.
- Use a dry brush to remove coffee grounds residue.
- Wipe the device and the lid from inside to outside using a damp cloth.
- Only place the lid on the device when all parts are completely dry. Storage
- Clean the appliance as described and let it dry completely.
- We recommend that you store the appliance in the original packaging, should you not want to use it for a longer period of time.
