Electric wine bottle opener

Intended Use

This electric wine bottle opener is used to open commercially available wine bottles with natural corks.

The wine bottle opener is not suitable for commercial use, e.g. in gastronomy.

Safety

- This item can be used by children 8 years of age and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the item and understand the dangers that may arise.

  • Children must not play with the item.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised.
  • Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. You should therefore keep the item and batteries out of reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.

DANGER for children

- Keep children away from packaging material. Risk of choking if swallowed. Also beware that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads.

RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion

- There is a risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly. Replace the battery using only the same or an equivalent type of battery. Pay attention to the "Technical Data".

- Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited. Otherwise there is an increased risk of explosion and of leakage; furthermore, gases may escape.

☐ Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. If you do come into contact with it, rinse the affected areas immediately and thoroughly with clean water and consult a doctor immediately.

WARNING against risk of injury

The spiral tip of the corkscrew is pointed. Handle the wine bottle opener carefully.

BEWARE of material damage

☐ Protect the wine bottle opener from strong impacts, vibrations and moisture.
☐ Remove the battery from the item when it is exhausted or if you will not use the item for a long time. You will thus avoid damage that may result from the leakage of battery acid.
☐ When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
Do not subject the battery to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing it on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
☐ Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
Do not make any modifications to the item. Only allow repairs to be carried out at a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out incorrectly can considerably endanger the user.

Inserting/changing batteries

To use, you will need 4 LR06, 1.5 V batteries (included in the delivery).

  1. Turn the battery compartment cover counterclockwise and remove it.

  2. Insert the batteries as shown below. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).

  3. Replace the battery compartment cover. Note the grooves on the underside of the cover. The battery compartment cover can only be placed flush in one position.

  4. Turn the battery compartment cover clockwise onto the wine bottle opener.
  5. Check that you have indeed inserted the batteries correctly by pressing ▲/▼ on the toggle switch.

- The corkscrew must rotate upwards or downwards.

-The light must turn red or blue.

If everything works as described, the electric wine bottle opener is ready for use.

Notes on changing the battery:

  • It is necessary to change the batteries when the wine bottle opener is no longer working or the cork is no longer pulled out of the bottle.
  • Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical Data".
  • Dispose of batteries in an environmentally appropriate way (see "Disposal").

Removing foil

-Remove the foil on the neck of the bottle. If the foil does not have a tear-off strip, you can use the supplied foil cutter.

Pulling corks

  1. Place the wine bottle opener on the neck of a conventional wine bottle. Hold the wine bottle firmly.

  2. Press ▼ on the toggle switch.

The light turns blue and the wine bottle opener is pulled downwards.

- Keep the toggle switch pressed. As soon as the wine bottle opener is pulled all the way down, the corkscrew spiral pulls the cork out of the neck of the bottle. This process takes a few seconds. Continue holding the wine bottle firmly.

-Remove the wine bottle opener. If the wine bottle opener cannot be removed, the cork has not been completely pulled out.

Briefly press ▼ again on the toggle switch and try again.

  1. Finally, press ▲n the toggle switch to push the cork out of the wine bottle opener. The light turns red in the process.

WARNING against injury

- Be careful when handling the foil cutter. Its blade poses a risk of injury.

-Wipe the wine bottle opener and foil cutter with a damp cloth.

- The interior of the wine bottle opener can be dusted with a fine, dry brush if necessary.

- The wine bottle opener and foil cutter can be easily stored in the original packaging.

-If you will not use the wine bottle opener for an extended period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible leakage.
