USER MANUAL SPMSP008B SportPlus

• This product is not a toy but a sports device and must only be used as intended.

• This product is intended for household use and is not suitable for medicinal, therapeutic or commercial purposes.

• Any other means of use is prohibited and possibly hazardous. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages due to improper use.

• The product must be set up by an adult.

• This product is not intended for commercial use. Use of the product requires certain abilities and knowledge. Ensure that the product is used age appropriately.

• When used regularly, the product strengthens your cardiovascular system and the muscles in your calves, thighs and buttocks.

• The maximum permissible weight of a person using this product is 100 kg.

• Keep packaging materials out of the reach of children. They pose a suffocation hazard!

• Parents and supervisors should be aware of their responsibility, since, due to children’s natural playfulness and love of experimentation, situations and conduct will likely arise for which the training unit is not intended.

• Children cannot recognize the hazards that this product may pose. For this reason, keep this product out of the reach of children. The product is not a toy. Store the product at a location out of the reach of children and pets.

• Do not use the product if it is damaged or defective. In this case, contact a professional workshop or our service center.

• Always verify that the product is in impeccable condition before use. Defective components must be replaced immediately as failure to do so may impair the functioning and safety of the unit.

• Make sure that no more than one person uses the product at a time.

• Always use the product on a horizontal, level, nonslip and solid surface. Never use the product near water and make sure there is a safety clearance of at least 1 meter on all sides of the product. Prevent your arms and legs from coming near the product’s moving components. Do not put any objects into any openings on the product.

CAUTION - PRODUCT DAMAGE

• Thoroughly check the device for damages and signs of wear before and after use. Do not alter the product in any way! For your own safety, use original replacement parts only.

• Have all repairs carried out in a professional workshop or from similarly qualied persons - improper repairs can lead to serious risks for the user. Use the product for the intended purposes as described in this user manual only.

• Shield the product from spraying water, moisture, high temperatures and direct sunlight.

ADVICE WITH REGARD TO BATTERIES

• Batteries could be fatal if swallowed. For this reason, store batteries out of the reach of children. If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

• Remove the batteries if they are empty or if you are no longer using the product. In this way, you will avoid damages that can be caused by leaking.

• The batteries may not be charged or activated with other means, dismantled, thrown into re or short-circuited. There is a DANGER OF EXPLOSION!

• Heed correct polarity (+ and -) when inserting the batteries. Always replace all batteries with new ones. Do not use old and new batteries or batteries of different types together!

• Preferably use alkaline batteries, since they last longer than regular zinc-carbon batteries.

3. INFORMATION ON ASSEMBLY

• Assembly of the product must be carried out carefully by an adult person. Ask for the assistance of another person with technical insight in case of doubt.

• Before beginning assembly of the product, read all assembly steps carefully and review the diagram.

• Remove all packaging materials and place all individual components on a free surface. This will give you a good overview and simplify assembly. Shield the assembly surface from lth and scratching by laying down suitable padding.

• Check the components against the components list to make sure all are present. Do not dispose of all packaging materials until assembly is completed.

• Please note that there is always a risk of injury when using tools to carry out manual tasks. Therefore, please exercise caution when assembling this product.

• Make sure your work environment is hazard-free. For example, do not leave any tools lying around. Place the packaging materials somewhere where they will not pose any hazards during assembly. Packaging foil or plastic bags pose a suffocation hazard for children!

• After assembling the product according to the instructions, make sure that all screws, bolts and nuts are installed correctly and tightened.

Turn knob detailed view

The side stepper was designed to ensure simple assembly and use. IMPORTANT: Unpack all parts and check for damages. SP-MSP-008-B-IM-DE+GB+FR-01.indb 21 18/4/2016 4:27 PM22

• Insert the two rear feet (51, 52) into the tail end of the rear stabilizer of the base (1). STEP 1 B:

• Fasten the feet with one screw (48) each. STEP 2:

• Guide the connector of the computer cable (44) through the cover (13) of the base (1).

• Place the cover (13) on the base (1) and press on the base. (See g. on the left). SP-MSP-008-B-IM-DE+GB+FR-01.indb 22 18/4/2016 4:27 PM23 ENGLISH STEP 3:

• Connect the male end of the computer cable (44) to the female connector on the base (1).

• Guide the computer cable from below through the bottom frame (5). STEP 4:

• Insert the bottom frame (5) into the base and secure with 4 washers (38) and 4 screws (39).

• Turn the turn knob (14) into the designated tting on the front of the base (1). STEP 6:

• Guide the computer cable (44) from below through the top frame (4).

• Attach the top frame (4) to the bottom frame (5) and secure with 2 washers (49) and 2 screws (43) as well as with 1 nut (47) and 1 threaded bolt (8).

• Tools: Allen wrench (54) and open-end wrench (53). STEP 7 A:

• Attach the handle (6) to the top frame (4) using 2 spring washers (9) and 2 screws (45)

• Tools: Allen wrench (54). STEP 7 B:

• Guide the computer cable (44) into the computer mount (10). Slide the computer mount onto the top frame (4) and then push latter one down. STEP 8 B:

• Connect the computer cable (44) to the computer (11). STEP 8 C:

5. USING THE PRODUCT

First steps IMPORTANT: Set up the side stepper on a horizontal, even and stable surface. We recommend placing a rectangular carpet or rubber padding under the side stepper. This will protect the oor, especially after use over an extended period. Make sure there is a safety clearance of at least 2.5 meters on all sides of the product. Adjusting the stepping height Turn knob The stepping height can be adjusted by turning the turn knob. The higher the stepping height, the higher the difculty level. Turn right to increase the stepping height. Turn left to decrease the stepping height. PLEASE NOTE! Turning on/off The computer turns on automatically, once you start exercising. When pausing or finishing the training, the computer will turn off automatically after approx. 4 minutes. All data recorded and displayed until that moment will be deleted. Display readings SCHRITTE: Display of all steps taken. ZEIT: Display of covered training time in minutes and seconds. KALORIEN: Used energy in calories (approximate value). SCHRITTE/ MINUTE: Number of steps you could take within one minute at that speed. SCAN: All displays are shown for a few seconds in sequence. Function buttons MODUS: If necessary, press the button repeatedly until the display shows the desired reading. The arrow in the display indicates the readings currently displayed. RESET: Press this button during use in order to reset the display to zero. Observe the following:

• The SCHRITTE reading (reading of all steps taken) in the upper part of the display is shown continuously and cannot be deactivated or modied.

• Use the MODUS function button in order to select different readings in the lower part of the display.

• Clean the unit regularly with a slightly damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent.

• If parts are damaged or if there are sharp edges and corners, the product must not be used anymore! Contact our service department in case of any doubt.

• Store the product at a safe, weather-proof location in order for the product not to get damaged or cause injuries.

9. NOTES ON DISPOSAL

Packaging materials are raw materials and can be recycled. Separate the packaging materials correctly and dispose of them properly in the interest of the environment. Your local administration can provide additional information.

The operation and assembly of the product according to the user manual is a precondition of this warranty. The warranty can be voided due to improper use and/or improper transport of the product. The warranty period is 2 years beginning on the date of purchase. If the product you have purchased is defective, please contact our service team within 24 months from the date of purchase. Excluded from the warranty are:

• External forceful impacts.

• Interference, repairs or alterations by amateurs and by persons who have not been authorized by us.
