How to set the time on the WS 1706 thermo/hygrometer?

Press the SET button until the time display flashes. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the hour, then press SET once. Set the minutes with UP or DOWN, then press SET to confirm.

How to change the temperature unit between °C and °F?

Press the DOWN button once to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) display.

How to switch from 12h to 24h display?

Press the UP button once to toggle between 12-hour format (with AM/PM) and 24-hour format.

What to do if the screen shows nothing?

Check that the battery is inserted correctly (observe polarity +/-) and that it is not discharged. If necessary, replace the battery with a new CR2032. Remove the insulating strip if present.

How to reset the device?

Remove the battery, wait a few moments, then reinsert it correctly. You will then need to set the time again.

Which battery to use and how to replace it?

Use a CR2032 battery, 3 V. Open the battery compartment cover by turning it clockwise with a coin. Insert the battery with the positive pole facing up, under the retaining straps. Close the cover by turning it clockwise.

The well-being indicator (smiley) seems illogical, what to do?

The well-being indicator is based on the measured temperature and humidity. If the values seem abnormal, check that the device is not exposed to direct sunlight or a heat source. A reset may help.

Can I mount the device on the wall?

Yes, the device has a hanging eyelet on the back. Use it to fix the device to the wall with a suitable nail or screw.

How to clean the thermo/hygrometer?

Never immerse the device in water. Use a soft, dry cloth to dust, or a slightly damp cloth for stubborn dirt. Avoid abrasive products.

What to do in case of malfunction, for example a displayed temperature too high?

Check that the device is not directly exposed to sunlight or a heat source. If the problem persists, remove the battery and reinsert it after a few seconds. If nothing displays, change the battery.

Intended Use

This thermometer/hygrometer is used to measure room temperature and humidity and thus to control the room climate. It is not suitable for commercial use.

Safety

• This item can be used by children 8 years of age and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the item and understand the dangers that may arise.
• Children must not play with the item.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they

are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised.

- Batteries can be life-threatening. Therefore, keep batteries out of reach of small children. If the battery has been swallowed or has ended up in the body in any other way, seek medical help immediately. Failure to do so within 2 hours may result in severe internal burns that could cause death.

DANGER for children

- Keep children away from packaging material. Risk of choking if swallowed.

RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion

- There is a risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly. Replace batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Observe the “Technical Data”.

• Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited.
  Otherwise there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!
• Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, rinse the affected areas right away with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor immediately.

BEWARE of material damage

- Do not immerse the item in water or other liquids and protect it from strong shocks and vibrations.

- Remove the battery when it is exhausted or if you will not use the item for an extended period of time. This prevents damage that

may be caused by leakage.

• When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
• Do not subject the batteries to extreme conditions by e.g. storing them on heaters or exposed to direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
• Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
• Do not make any modifications to the product. Repairs must only be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out incorrectly can considerably endanger the user.

Start-up

Removing iso-strips

1. Turn the battery cover counterclockwise and remove it with a coin or similar object all the way to the stop.
2. Remove the iso-strip.
3. Place the battery compartment cover and turn it clockwise all the way to the stop.

Inserting/changing batteries

1. Turn the battery cover counterclockwise and remove it with a coin or similar object all the way to the stop.

2. Slide the battery (CR 2032) against the contact spring under the two metal retaining brackets and push downwards. The plus pole (+) must point upwards.

3. Place the battery compartment cover and turn it clockwise all the way to the stop. Suggestions for changing the battery:

4. The batteries must be changed when nothing is shown on the display.

5. Only use the battery type specified in the "Technical Data".
6. Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally friendly manner, see "Disposal".

Use

As soon as the thermometer/hygrometer is supplied with power, the display shows the following:

• Room temperature in °C
• Humidity in percentage
• Comfort indicator in the form of a smiley

Setting the time

1. Press SET until the hour indicator flashes.
2. Use UP or DOWN to set the hour.
3. Press SET 1x.
4. Use UP or DOWN to set the minute.
5. Press SET to exit.

Setting up the device

The device has a base and a hanging loop for wall mounting.

Change temperature unit

-Press the DOWN button 1x to display the temperature in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit.

Changing the time display (12-/24-hour)

-Press the UP button 1x to display the time in 12-hour (AM/PM) or 24-hour format.

Comfort indicator

The comfort indicator consists of temperature (T) and humidity (L).

Resetting the thermometer/hygrometer

Only required if abnormal or apparently false values are displayed.

1. Remove the batteries and wait for a moment.
2. Insert the batteries correctly again (+/-).
3. Reset the time.

Cleaning

Do not immerse the item in water or other liquids. Do not use rough, scratching or abrasive cleaning agents.

- If necessary, dust the item with a soft, dry cloth or wipe it with a slightly moistened cloth.

Fault and remedy
