Safety instructions

This product is not intended for commercial use. It is designed for household use only.
- Place this product on a horizontal and even surface only.
- Read this instruction manual carefully before first use. It contains important safety information as well as instructions for the use and care of the device. Keep these instructions for future reference and pass it on with the product
- To avoid dangerous situations, do not use this product for any purposes other than those described in the instructions. Improper use is dangerous and voids the warranty.
- Risk of injury! Do not use this product if it is damaged or has fallen to the ground.
- Caution! There is danger of explosion from improper replacement of the battery. Replace battery only with the same or equivalent type of battery.
Make sure the battery is correctly inserted. Observe the polarity (+) positive / (-) negative on the battery and the housing. Improperly inserted batteries can lead to leakage or, in extreme cases, a fire or an explosion.
- The connections must not be short-circuited.
- Never expose batteries to excessive heat (e.g. bright sun, fire), and never throw them into fire. The batteries could explode.
- Remove used batteries. Remove the batteries if you know that the product will not be used for a longer period of time. Otherwise, the batteries could leak and cause damage.

Non-rechargeable batteries must not be recharged.
- Pay attention when using rechargeable batteries:

  • Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

  • If the batteries leak, remove them with a cloth and dispose of them accordingly. Prevent battery liquid from coming into contact with skin and eyes. If you do get battery liquid in your eyes, flush them thoroughly with lots of water and consult a physician immediately. If battery liquid comes into contact with your skin, wash the affected area with lots of water and soap.

Intended use

This kitchen scale is intended to be used for weighing cooking and baking ingredients. Using it for anything else can damage the device or cause injury.

Before first time use

Carefully remove the product and accessories from the original packaging. It is recommended to keep the original packaging for storage. If you wish to dispose of the original packaging, please observe applicable legal provisions. Should you have any questions regarding proper disposal, contact your local waste management center.

Inspect the delivery contents for completeness and damages. Should the delivery contents be incomplete or damaged, contact your sales outlet immediately.

Cleaning and care

Removing the battery protection

The batteries are already inserted. Open the battery compartment and remove the plastic stripes to start the product for the first time.

Insert or replace batteries

Fig. 1 Open the battery compartment. Insert 2 × 1.5V batteries (type LR03/AAA) in the battery compartment. Make sure the polarity is correct as indicated. Close the battery compartment.

Note

Replace the batteries at least once a year, although at the latest when Lo appears on the LCD display. The display Lo means that the battery power is low and it is necessary to replace the batteries.

Operation To weigh

Fig. 2 Place the digital scale on a flat, clean and dry surface. The base must stand on a horizontal, flat surface to ensure the measurement is as precise as possible.

Fig. 4 Place the goods you wish to weigh on the scales. Once the scale detects the weight, the weight is shown on the LCD display. Read the weight on the LCD display.

Note

  • The scale switch off automatically after around 2 minutes if no activity is detected within this period.
  • You can also put the food to be weighed into the bowl and then place it on the scales to weigh it.
    If the display shows Err the scale is overloaded. Remove the goods you are weighing. Never place goods weighing more than 5kg on the scale.

Setting the unit of measurement

Fig. 5 Switch on the scale. Press the conversion button on the bottom of the scale. You can choose between grams (g) and pounds: ounces (lb:oz) for the weight mode or between millilitres (ml) and fluid ounces (fl'oz) in milk or water mode.

Weighing mode

Fig. 6 Choose the mode to suit the type of goods you are weighing (weight, milk or water mode). Press the MODE button to set the weighing mode.

Taring food

  1. Press the TARA button to set the scale to 0. "0" appears on the LCD display along with the symbol "O" or "T" (see "Zero function" and "Tare function").
  2. The ingredients can now be weighed. Put the partial quantity to be weighed into the container. The weight of the added product is shown on the LCD display.

Note

You can repeat this stage several times.
If weight is taken away while using the zero function, a minus sign (-) appears on the LCD display.

Zero function

If the goods to be weighed amount is less than 200g , then "o" appears on the display if the TARA button is pressed.

Note

Under zero function, the to be weighted good (less than 200g ) will not be deducted from max capacity. However, never place goods weighing more than 5kg on the scale.

Tare function

If the goods to be weighed is more than 200g then "T" appears on the display if the TARA button is pressed once. If you press the button again the total weight is shown.

Note

Under tare function, the to be weighted good (more than 200g) will be directly deducted from max capacity.

Warning!

  • When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and tools may scratch the surface(s).
  • Never immerse any electrical parts of the product in water or in other liquids during cleaning. Never place it under running water.

  • Clean the product on the outside with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly moistened cloth to clean the housing. Dry the housing carefully afterwards.

  • Do not immerse the device into water or any other fluids while cleaning.
    The container may be washed under water.
