How to use the measuring cup to achieve the desired doneness?

The measuring cup has three sets of markings: Soft, Medium and Hard. Use the numbers corresponding to the number of eggs. For harder eggs, add a little water; for softer ones, reduce the amount.

Do I need to pierce the eggs before cooking?

Yes, use the piercer on the measuring cup to make a small hole at the larger end of each egg. This prevents them from cracking during cooking.

What if the eggs are overcooked or undercooked?

Adjust the amount of water in the tank. If the eggs are too hard, use less water; if they are too soft, use more water. The markings are intended for medium-sized eggs.

How to clean the egg cooker?

Unplug and let it cool. Wipe the tank with a slightly damp cloth. The lid and egg holder can be hand washed with dish soap. Do not immerse the appliance and do not put in dishwasher.

How to descale the appliance?

Use vinegar water to remove limescale deposits. Then wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical or harsh detergents.

Does the appliance turn off automatically?

Yes, the egg cooker turns off automatically once cooking is complete, and an audible signal sounds to alert you.

Can I use eggs of different sizes?

The markings are designed for medium eggs. For larger or smaller eggs, adjust the water amount accordingly.

What to do in case of a malfunction?

Contact the authorized customer service of Severin. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Keep the proof of purchase for the warranty.

Can you cook eggs without piercing them?

It is strongly recommended to pierce the eggs with the piercer to prevent them from cracking under heat. This allows even cooking.

How to avoid burns during use?

Always hold the appliance by its handle. Be careful of hot steam escaping from the lid. Do not place the appliance under heat-sensitive furniture. Never leave the appliance unattended.

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions

In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely. For detailed information on cleaning the appliance, please refer to the section Cleaning and care.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do

not clean the egg boiler with liquids and do not immerse it.

This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as the
- staff kitchens in shops, offices and other similar working environments,
- agricultural working environments,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc. and similar accommodation,
- in bed-and breakfast type environments.
- Be careful when using the egg piercer. Risk of injury!
- This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or

maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised and at least 8 years of age.

The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 8 at all times.
- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
The egg boiler gets hot during use. Touch the handle only.
- Beware of the hot steam escaping from the lid opening while the egg boiler is switched on.
Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Keep the power cord away from the hot parts of the appliance. Do not wind the cord around the egg boiler until fully cool.
Always remove the plug from the wall socket

• after use,
• in case of any malfunction,

• before cleaning the appliance.

• When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.

Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

During operation, the appliance must be placed on a level surface, resistant to heat and water.
- Do not position the appliance on or near hot surfaces or open fl ames such as hotplates or gas fl ames. Do not operate the appliance underneath sensitive objects or furniture such as wall-cupboards, as hot steam is emitted from the lid during use.
- No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

Before first use

Clean the water tray, the egg holder and lid with a damp cloth.

How to use your egg boiler

• Fill the water tray with the required amount of cold water, using the measuring cup.
• The graduations on the measuring cup correspond to the amount of water required to obtain 1 to 6 soft, medium or hard-boiled eggs.
  The graduations are given for medium-sized eggs. If the eggs are too soft, add a little more water than indicated on the cup, or less water if the eggs get too hard.
• Pierce the blunt end of the eggs with the egg piercer which is integrated in the measuring cup.
• Put the eggs into the egg holder and close the lid.
  Plug in the egg boiler. If your egg boiler is provided with an on/off switch, turn it to ON-position.
  A buzzer sounds when the eggs are ready.
• Disconnect the egg boiler from the wall socket. If your egg boiler has an on/off

switch, turn it to OFF-position before you unplug.

Take off the lid. Remove the egg holder from the water tray and run the eggs under cold tap water.

Cleaning and care

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, never immerse the egg boiler in water.
• Wipe the water tray with a damp cloth only.
• Any build-up of deposits on the water tray can be removed with a solution of water and vinegar. Clean the tray with fresh water afterwards.
• Do not use harsh abrasive detergents.
  Clean the lid and egg holder in warm soapy water (not in a dishwasher) and dry afterwards.

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service

centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods.
